@@Addition2 There is no full on crossover, they just dance in the credits. Their is apparently a Kamen Rider Den-O crossover coming up, however. Honestly these franchises play fast and lose with continuity, so I think weather crossovers work in their own right, is more important than there place in continuity.
Wonderful review! I also agree that the biggest mistake with Mahou was abandoning it's themes/magic school themes so quickly. Because honestly. When is was the LAST time a precure series had such a unique concept like that? If they had to have some episodes away from it all, why not just have the first half of the series happen during the summer (thus summer vacation) and let the later half take place in our world? Not only would that be a fair compromise, but we could get a more balanced version of this show. The fact remains is that I have a theory that Toei had some hand in this decision and felt that they had to play it safe in order to get that toy revenue, but honestly, there are so many successful magical girl school shows that there's no reason to have SUCH LITTLE FAITH in the concept alone. Everything just because so generic afterwards and I honestly felt betrayed by the fact that it didn't have to be that way. Overall, great review! Can't wait to see you tackle Kira Kira.
@@kellyjohana516 no, Mirai didn't kiss Ha-chan and Mofurun Mirai give the antidote to them normally, make them drink it, but it was difficult and she lose some antidote in the process So Mirai put the antidote she had left in the mouth and kiss Liko to be effective
Kelly Johana star twinkle wasn’t necessarily “bad”. I liked the charachters and by that I mean yuni and lala and especially the music and osts. Oh, yea thats about it tho ._.

Mahou Tsukai Precure is a season I enjoy and the main cast is the best part about it. Honestly I had heard that this was a disappointing season and the only disappointment I had was that it wasn't as disappointing as it was hyped to be. I enjoyed it immensely. Honestly on the episode 50 thing and Liko and Mirai being established to be older than the Kirakira girl, future seasons just kinda run with that and establish that Liko and Mirai are just adults in future seasons and that canonically every other series before and after them are still teenagers, which essentially just says "Liko and Mirai's adventures canonically just took place before every other season." Which makes them the 2nd oldest Cures in the franchise after Cure Flower in Heartcatch... which I actually really like and continuity is a bit iffy anyways... but at least they stuck by that Liko and Mirai are just adults who use magic to make themselves look younger and fight alongside younger girls to save Earth. Edit: forgot Cure Mirage being centuries old and Kotone's revelation of being flung back to the big bang setting the whole story up for her past self... my point still stands that they stick to Liko and Mirai's story being the first series in the Precure timeline... the crossover movie this season throws a wrench into this admittance but as you said the movie is non canon while episode 50 is.
I honeatly don't think any cross over season interaction is to be considred canon. By that logic, Maho Tsukai took place before Futari Wa even if the time periods don't match up at all.
Good review, but Im still very disappointed that Go Princess didnt receive such amount of discussion other than constant compares to Utena (which sucks, BTW, but I am not to judge here)... so yeah)
@@moved9658 Go Princess was what brought me back into precure after only really watching heartcatch and futari wa/max heart and Yes precure. It gave me that motivation to watch all the other seasons(I cant finish kirakira...I just cant🤮). Strong pink lead and all the side cures for development and strong arcs. It's rare for season to give that character development and teamwork in a precure season. The fights are probably the most entertaining to see since most are all well animated. It sucks because after GPP ended, the fights haven't really been the same, with a minor exception to Hugtto. A lot of strong villains as well. In my opinion, if any precure season is overrated, it's futari wa since the franchise loves to push the as the best and strongest precure team ever.
I tried to love go princess but after twilight/towa's redemption arc (which was great) i was so disappointed and literally forcing myself to finish it.
I recall dropping it just before Ha-chan properlly joins the team. I agree with your points on the missed opportunities in worldbuilding. But the biggest thing for me was the lack of variety in the action. They've got all these cool legendary spells and most of them get used once upon being acquired and then never again. Also the big nerd that I am just wanted to know more about the magic system. Like why is Riko bad at what by all accounts seems to be a Will and Word style system since even Mirai is able to do magic once its explained to her. I did pick it up just before it was about to end and the trio's shennanigans really pulled back into it and I generally had a good time in the second half from what I can recall. I loved how intense and compact the final boss fight was and the epilogue flash forward was great. The solo movie was actually really good and better than the series in its entirety. I still have the OP as my ringtone.
If you were frustrated by Mahou Tsukai's lack of Magic School adventures, then prepare for Star Twinkle. It too was written by Mahou Tsukai's writer but I feel like he noticed his mistake with Mahou Tsukai because Star Twinkle from around episode 8 onwards didn't have a lot of episodes on Earth. If anything, it was split 50/50. Half the episodes on Earth, the other half in space. And if we were on Earth, it wasn't your usual normal mundane stuff considering the cast and how two of them aren't even from Earth. The only issue with so many planets was the fact that they felt empty. You got to learn about how huge the universe was but aside from like 2-3 planets, we only saw 2-3 inhabitants on the others, making those planets feel very empty. But it was a lot better world building wise than Mahou Tsukai. I say this as someone who adores Mahou Tsukai and Star Twinkle. Both shows have flaws and the fandom, on RU-vid especially, was not afraid to bash Star Twinkle (I don't understand why cause I argue Star Twinkle is one of the best seasons since Go Pri but whatever XD)
The KiraKira crossover is the only one that makes sense after seeing the season (other than the Healin Good one). And based on what you disliked about this season... the next one and Star Twinkle won't be an easy watch.
Eh while Star Twinkle has it's fair share of problems, it still actualy remembers the space stuff most the time. He seems to dislike that fact that Mahoustuki, abandons it's Potteresqe stuff in favour of standard Precure fair, while Star Twinkle was more of a 50/50 split between space adventures and standard Precure fair.
Star Twinkle is one of the best! Because of the characters, the concept, the villians, the missions, the space, the world building and this little moments of slapstick comedy which was just great. I can't remember that I had so much fun on watching a precure season. It was funny, exciting, it was from end to end JUST GREAT.
I was so excited to see this in my sub feed. Glad you're back. Also I think Mahou Tsukai has so much intriguing lore but it was very lackluster. You will like huggto though. I'm not sure how you'll feel about the themes in it
Hey Tyranno have you ever heard of an anime called Brigadoon: Marin to Melan It’s a weird and fascinating fusion of the magical girl/shojo and science fiction genres, with a touch of Digimon and Made in Abyss. It has a really cutesy art style but like that show has some gory, disturbing and intense scenes in it. It also has a really likeable set of protagonists and a fun sense of humor that keeps it from getting too dark despite the violent scenes. Each of its 26 episodes does something new, with a fantastic ending. Highly recommended.

There's so many reasons I love it, it has an awesome art style that inspires me a lot, and Studio Sunrise delivers on the intense and beautiful fight scenes. The opening is just beautiful, so much emotion and amazing animation especially during the chorus which syncs perfectly to the song

I don't know how you're gonna feel about kira kira It's got many good elements, but its shift away from physical combat disappointed many fans. (But if you want your gay subtext to just be straight up text, boy do I have good news for you) But I know. I just KNOW. You're gonna have some things to say about Hugtto.
What is disappointing about Kirakira to me, is not really the removal of physical combat, is how the series does overall. I don't mind the shift, it is HOW they utilized what they have is the issue. In terms of story, settings, characters, and also combat, Kirakira hits a new low to me, and things did get better after that.... for a while, and then gets even worst after that. Only time can tell if things will improve in the Precure franchise. But hey, it is just a kids show after all, something that I learned from other Precure fans.
@@Kirbyjackle It is something that I have heard from some Precure fans who got tired of the amounts of negative towards particular Precure series. And most of the time, they ask to don't complain too much for any issues from any Precure series have because it is a kids show, and adults like myself are not the target audience.
What is so horrible about KiraKira is the emotional manipulation the writers did there... I mean, they had to convince children that sweets are important. You know, Precure always had to protect something important to us, like... You know; love, music, happiness, nature, life... And now we got sweets... Oh, they're so important, right? No, they're not. So how we convince kids they are? Easy, they're tied to human emotions, that's why they're important. In episode 11, if I'm not wrong... Ichika's father almost dies to protect a fucking shortcake for her daughter. God, you can buy that shortcake anywhere, you can bake it yourself too. It's not worth to put your life on the line just to "save" a dessert. What the writers did here... is to put the "sacrifice" of a man that loves his daughter... next to the freaking dessert so kids could think "Uuuuh, sweets are important, because they contain people's feelings". GOD, ANY FOOD CAN CONTAIN FEELINGS, NOT ONLY SWEETS... No, I mean, ANYTHING can contain feelings, for Blue's sake... And what's important it's not the thing itself! The feelings are! But... you had to sell your cakes at the Pretty Store, right? Toei had a Pattiserie where they sold cakes of Precure! That's why they were making this season... To sell cakes, to convince children "SUIIITS AAAAAR IMPURTANT" to sell fucking cakes! Didn't they have enough with the toys? "Sweets are important" It's manipulative, hideous and stupid... So later they changed the theme a little bit so it didn't seem so stupid. "Light vs Darkness" again... And because Precure has to protect something really important, we change "protect sweets" to "protect the *daisuki no kimochi*" or... "protect the likes". Kids, that sound a little smarter huh? Now you keep buying our cakes and toys!!! It's disgusting...

Yeah, I was super hyped for this season since the Magical Girl genre was originally more about these witch type characters coming into contact and helping the residents of earth. So the idea of a mixing that with Precure's fighting type magical girls was super fun. But I lost interest pretty quickly once it aired.
@@otakumarcus On the history of the genre? Yeah! Some where about normal girls finding some sort of transformation trinket but a lot of them where Witches or Magical Princess coming to earth; like Meg-chan, Sally the Witch and Minky Momo etc.
Riko returning to the mundane world with Mirai despite needing to train her magic was symbolic of her relationship with Mirai. She chose to leave most of her magic behind for the sake of learning more about herself alongside her partner, as well as continuing to protect the world as a Cure. It may not have been as magical or imaginative as the magic realm, but it was an important part in their growth as a duo. I also enjoyed the Halloween episode for its end twist. It was obviously setting up the idea that the pumpkin was being abused by the tradition, but for it to actually enjoy the event but be suffering otherwise was chuckle-worthy. I totally get how important it is to challenge some traditions, but this is also a show for younger audiences, around the age that are likely still being fickle about oral hygiene XD Still, another interesting review. I also found the dual plot and forgettable villains to be disappointing, and yes, I would have loved to see more of the magic world, and yet I still find the overall atmosphere quite charming. Can't wait to move onto your KiraKira review :D
Are you forgot the transformation scene? My personal favorite is the ruby version transformation and the animation is blew out of the water. It is still my rank1 overall precure transfomation thus far because of the fluidity and the use of camera angles is very impressive. What are you thoughts about this?
Basically episode 50 is telling us that the All Cures are adults and KiraKira are the younger new ones If you consider this inconsistent, just wait to KiraKira and Hugtto crossovers is even worse Especially Hugtto, but it try to be consistent in some aspects at least
I just finished this season recently, and I have to agree with you when you said their lack of visiting the magic world is disappointing. While I didn't particularly mind them being in the non-magic world, the problem was that they didn't use the magic world have they set it up to be. I honestly think that this show could have worked if it wasn't Precure, because it is because of their duty of being Precure that they were forced away from the magic world so that they could collect more of those magic rocks. If the series had been about Mirai becoming a magician with Liko despite being from the non-magic world, then it would have been better. However, that would also mean the the show would be less original. So...
Did I fall asleep while watching the season or they never explained what exactly Mofurun is? It's established she isn't a fairy. Wizards, muggles, villains - EVERYONE thinks a sentient teddy bear is weird even though there's tons of magical stuff around. Mofurun is needed in order for the precure to transform and find linkle stones so she must be connected to Mother RaPaPa. Characters also wonder about the bear's origin on multiple occasions yeeet nothing comes out of it?
This is the season Precure writers realized some light yuri in the main anime isn’t a bad thing. Mahou Tsukai is the gayest season so far with one episode specifically sinking a straight ship to set up a yuri one. Also I’d say Mirai/Riko/Kotoha dynamic is based on Nanoha/Fate/Vivio as of Nanoha StrikerS/Vivid. Then there is the Kamikitas who appear to me like some huge yuri fangirls. They played up that part of Mirai/Riko so much, not only did they kiss, they even had a second daughter. As of next season, we have a Haruka/Michiru of Sailor Moon cline in Akira/Yukari.
Just finished MahoTsukai as my first precure, since my wife wanted to get into the series. It places in my top 10 anime of all time, with my only big criticism (besides being for little kids and the issues that comes with as an adult viewer inherently, IE, the invalid criticisms) is that I want more. This felt like it could have been an entire standalone anime, and I think it might actually suffer for being part of the precure franchise. I see a lot of people ranking this low, and I just simply do NOT understand it. I'm planning on making a Leftist Reading video of the show, since i feel like there are a lot of themes that many people miss. (Autism, introversion, pressure from society, anxiety about child rearing, how to handle people who want different things in life than you, and various dangers that young, introverted and well meaning women may encounter in life.)

Judging by the opening introduction of this video, I'm just gonna say one thing: You haven't seen Star Twinkle yet. Oh god does the disappointment really kick in on that season, holy crap. XD
I liked them just fine, form changes and all. I never bring cure designs up because... I guess they're an element that quickly fade into the background for me, that I appreciate once then take for granted, so unless there's some glaring fault, I don't lend them much thought other than "hey that's nice." And in this case? They're nice.
Because Mahopuri yuri aspect, 48% viewer of this season is male, it's the highest male viewer from all Precure series, plus besides it's plain plot that makes me sometimes bored but Ep 49 it's one of the best episode from the franchise.
You're the greatest, Tyranno, and I have no idea how you keep describing these shows in such a way that I feel like I've seen through it even if I didn't, but you make it so that you bring out the most important and central points of them. Thank you again for a wonderful episode. Can you give a brief plotline summary of Stargate Atlantis? Is it your favourite sci-fi? How many Precure shows do you have left?
1) Stargate Atlantis is a spin-off of Stargate SG-1 (so it makes a bit more sense if you've seen that but works perfectly fine on its own). A team of explorers travel to the Pegasus galaxy and discover Atlantis, a city built by a long-gone race of advanced people. Using Atlantis as a base, they start exploring the Pegasus galaxy via the stargate network and make all sorts of discoveries (technological or otherwise) along the way. It's primarily an episodic adventure story whose foremost appeal is its endearing cast with wonderful chemistry going on new adventures every week. It's probably the most comfy sci-fi show I've ever seen, and between SG-1's ten seasons and Atlantis' five, each with at least twenty episodes, there's plenty to get comfortable with. Not sure whether either are an absolute #1 favorite, but they're definitely in the favorites list. Top 5 at least. 2) After this are Kirakira, Huggto, and Star Twinkle. Healin' Good just started airing, and I'll wait until that's done airing to watch & make a video about it. Same for any future seasons. As long as they keep making them I'll keep watching, which means I could keep doing this til I die (oh god), but for now the immediate future just holds three/four more seasons.
To me, Happiness Charge isn't as bad as say.... Kirakira, Hugtto and Star Twinkle. All 3 are worst than Happiness Charge in their own way, to the point, that Happiness Charge is a masterpiece by comparison. Doki Doki however is one of my most favorite Precure series.
Worst is very subjective. What I think are the worst are usually regarded by a lot of the fandom to be the best PreCure season(s). I think Smile, HapCha, and Hugtto are the worst. Most people would disagree though. It's a matter of personal opinion(s).

And I am going to disagree on another point, the Precure series you mentioned that are the worst like Happiness Charge, yeah, most of the fandom I saw do agree on that point. But then again, I also agree that it is still personal opinion. So to each their own I guess.
I haven't watched this one yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Everyone talks about how it's disappointing and that nothing really happens to shake up status quo for long stretches of episodes, and it doesn't use the magic school concept to the fullest, but going in with that kind of expectation will probably make that more tolerable as long as the standalone episodes are good. And most of what I hear about the two leads makes me think I'll like them a lot. Plus, Liko is voiced by one of my favorite seiyuu, that always helps making things more enjoyable.
I was dreading this review, as mahoutsukai is one of the least popular seasons and also one of my favorites. But I'm glad there were parts you enjoyed! One thing I wish you talked about a little more was the soundtrack, as well as the transformation and attack scenes. The soundtrack is absolutely delightful, I put it on whenever I go on nature walks to make things a little more magical for myself. The transformations and attacks, at least in my opinion, are some of the best precure has ever done.
I know this season has a lot of failures but, it was like my second season (first one Go Pri) and I loved it because, I like duos, I like magic theme, I like that they have alternative forms with each one having different hability, Ha chan is amazing, The creative stuff was just amazing I liked that Mirai wasnt as annoying as Flora she never stole the scene. I like when precure teams are smaller because you get to know the character better. I like that the 3 girls awaked their powers by their own without the help of a stupid fairy, I think is really unic
Finally someone who dares point out flora's screen hogging! So annoying. Made me hate the second half, just watch up until towa's redemption and save yourself the trouble.
I'll got into Precure with this. As new to franchise it seemed interesting at that time. Now that I have watched all precure series I wonder I'll think different about this if I'll re-watch it. Also about teddy bear, it isn't girl? Can't quit remember if it was explained it show. Only I say that people in precure subreddit say it she and this show standalone move she transforms to different form.
i watched mahoutsukai precure recently, so heres my opinion: i loved it, i had fun, but i wish they did at least a few episodes in the later half of the season where the girls attend actual magic school classes, i feel like that wouldve been fun af, otherwise i dont really have any other complaints... (also i couldnt take some of the villains seriously bc they shared voice actors with main characters from another anime i like, lets see if you can get it right!)
I may have not seen every season but it kinda seems like precure is reluctant to discuss the issue of having bad parents. In suite, doki doki, and the yes 5 gogo movie whenever a villain is revealed to be someone's parent, it ends up getting explained as "they're not really evil, they were just brainwashed". While mahou tsukai doesn't do the exact same thing, the birthday episode still pretty much ends up saying "it's liko that was in the wrong and not her parents", and while go princess did manage to take it a step further with twilight and dyspear, it arguably still doesn't count as dyspear wasn't towa's real mother and had abducted and brainwashed her at a young age. I don't understand why the franchise seems to constantly dabble with discussing the darker and more complex themes of parental abuse/neglect/etc. only to always end up bailing out. If they can't actually follow through with tackling a tough subject like that then they should stop pulling crap like this.
I do not think that your expectations for this season too unreasonable. I remember being so interested in the first couple of episodes and being excited only for them to go back to a normal world where you have to keep magic a secret. I was so sad to the point that I did not even watch if not all then most of the episodes. Granted there were a few moments here and there that were interesting, but still I couldn't help feel like it got very dull after that.
Hey, if that's how you feel about shifting from the magical world to the non-magic world, it's fine. It's valid. Personally, I feel like if they had just stayed in one world or the other, the ending stakes wouldn't have felt as heavy as they did. But that's just my personal take.
If this series made you disappointment, then you better not get your hopes up for the other Precure series that came after his one, cause let me say this, things go down from here on out, and they don't get any better, to the point that I would doubt the quality of the latest series at this point. ESPECIALLY Star Twinkle, cause whatever issue you have with Mahou Tsukai, will return in that series, so.... keep your expectations in check. Remember, it is a kids show after all. And I agree, episode 50 shouldn't exist. In fact, cross over episodes shouldn't exist. It really destroys the overall settings for ALL Precure franchise, be warned when watching Hugtto.

I'll be honest I liked this season when it first came out but I think it's because I like witch themed shows I love little witch academia and also I was desperate to have my love for precure back after the time I had with go pri now I look back yes I still love cure felice she's in my top 10 cures but I can remember so little of the series so it's like 8th on my rankings when it used to be in the top 3 (nothing is beating fresh or heart catch) but after mahou tsukai I stopped watching for a couple years I have seen Kira Kira and hugtto now tho and love them both are in my top 5
Kinda curious which group you chose for the subtitles, the quality of them are actually not good from now on, like there's a group translated "mandarin" into "melon"
This season to me is very reminiscent of Futari wa Pretty Cure in terms of art style and the themes seem to connect old fans and new in that regard Hope that makes sense lol
Tyranno I think you might have misunderstood the point of the next Precures cameo. Ontop of everything else Precure is also a homage series and sister franchise to Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. In the case of the next seasons Cure showing up it was meant to be bringing over a franchise tradition from Kamen Rider, were the next seasons Rider would make an early bird cameo. It didn't really make much sense in Kamen Rider either.
I returned to Precure on this one after a long break and I wasn't overwhelemed sadly, it was fun though; most Precure are at least fun I think. Yeah the obsession with those frozen clemetines was a bit odd and Episode 50 - yes, so should not have happened and I don't like the use of introducing the new cure, because the characters never ageing (Nagisa and Honka is surely like mid twenties by now) wasn't a problem until this point :p
huh, never thought I'd see Aang's air scooter again ~ the design and the characters look very nice in this season, but they went for the form change spam rather than introduce new cures :O this is the same problem I had with Kamen Rider Kiva; great premise with the whole vampire thing, good dual story lines, but LACKED world building and its like the creators just GAVE UP =_+ I remember the very FIRST crossover precure fanart I saw was the 3 main Fresh girls looking in the distance while the adult forms of the 2 OG Precure girls walk by presumably as young adults or university college students ~ so yeah, if we're going by ACTUAL chronological age then some of the older cures can be your mom at this point (nothing wrong with milfs but hey ;) I think the timeline is just that ALL the girls retain their youthful appearance at the same time while any other instances where they show up as adults are wayyyyyy in the future ~ and wow I guess the started the whole super sentai thing where they pass the baton to the next team near the end of the series as to mentally prep viewers for the next upcoming season
I think you may have slightly set your expectations a bit high for MT based on it's first couple episodes. But, that's not necessarily a negative to me. It just makes your experience all the more different from mine. I honestly really enjoyed Mahou Tsukai PreCure. It's in my Top 4 for favorite PreCure seasons. The characters and story are super refreshing and enjoyable to watch. This might seem a bit odd to some and so I'll provide a little more to my reasoning. I didn't really enjoy GoPri. There were just certain aspects of the season I didn't like and certain characters I couldn't get behind. So, I was looking forwards to a season that wouldn't be like GoPri and that's exactly what I got with Mahoutsukai PreCure. That and so much more. Some people like to say that Mirai had no personality and I was never really able to put into words why that wasn't the case. I would always just say "Go watch the Mahoutsukai Movie. There's what you're looking for." So, I'm glad you were able to talk about what makes Mirai a great character. I think the disappointments you had with this season are mostly valid. Maybe if I rewatched MT, I would be inclined to agree with you more. For now though, I don't think what you said took away any enjoyment or love I had for the season (not that it was ever your intention to do so of course). It just opened my eyes to some of the flaws MT had and that's okay. Next up for you is Kira Kira. As some of the other comments have probably told you, it's one of those seasons that you'll either absolutely love or absolutely dislike. For me personally, I didn't enjoy a ton. But, it was good enough for me to consider it as the favorite of my least favorites.
If you're looking for more world building, Star Twinkle definitely does it better than MT did imo. So you can look forwards to that sometime soon I suppose. As always keep up the good work!
Oh welcome to the hate party sir It's ok for u to NOT like this season. Trust me...this season have ALOT going for...and yet they didn't do that. At all...and if u think "EP 50" is bad, look at the next season after. I'll give u a heads up: it gets worse =^=
mahoutsukai was definitely my favorite season (though im a little biased bc it was what was airing when i got into precure) but i do understand the criticism to it .. it was super boring when they went to the mundane world 😭 i loved the magic world and i agree they should've developed it more
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention the fight scenes but oh boy kira kira is gonna be an outing. Also if you thought that mirai x liko was gay wait til next season. And what did you think of the cure mofurun movie? It’s one of my favorite stand alone Pretty Cure movies
I enjoyed that movie just fine; nothing about it excited me enough to compel me to bring it up at any point, but in and of itself it was more consistently fun/engaging than the season as a whole, so that's something.
After felice i just dnf this season and knowing they would have some kind of importance in the next two crossovers I just skipped them and started again with star twinkle
oh god kira kira is next and we all know what reputation that series has 😬 but the season after that (hugtto) is good so thats hopefully going to make you happy after the disaster what kira kira was
My biggest problem with Mahou is the fact that it doesn't feel like a Precure season. It feels more like the creator wanted this to be about a girl going to a magical world, but Toei was like, no, this won't work. Rework it as a Precure season and will make it a show. I wasn't too bothered by them going to the human world, as I thought they would do that. My only example was they were shown to be in the human world more. This could have also been the season where they tried to get rid of fighting and have the girls use more magical attacks. Overall, it has some good parts, but it's just a weak season.
I Really Know What U Feel In This Review Other People Have Different Taste Of Anime Since This Is A Girl Anime U Would Expect Different Concept On What U Want For Example The Mascot In This Season Like U Said It's Irritating But For The Other's It's Really Cute Or Kawaii It's Base On Ur Taste If U Really Like The Category Of This Anime
I was pretty disappointed that they stayed away from the magic aspect. The villains are also pretty forgettable(I literally only remember Orba because of his bishounen look) and the story itself, plot was boring. The final battle was underwhelming and short. I loved Mirai's and Liko's reunion at the end though. That saved this series for me by 10%. Kotoha was entertaining and loved her as cure felice but that's it. Not sure if you seen the Mahou movie though. The movie is actually really good and I would highly recommend watching it. It's pretty different from the main story. Also Mofurun is a girl.
You often speak of the standard precure protagonist qualities, framing it as a positive that the part you really like is so consistent/uniform across the series. I kind of see that as an issue though. Series after series we see the same type of infectiously upbeat good-hearted girl, especially in later seasons like now. It's kinda samey. There should be more variety in the protagonists. But that's more so my issue with Kamen Rider than Precure. My issue with precure is that the villains' motives rarely make any sense beyond "because evil", and the boss just kind of sits back the whole series and makes his generals do all the dirtywork while berating them for failure.
