A lot of actors that aren’t American lose their native accent because of how much they use their American accent and because most of them move to LA they don’t hear their original accent on tv or in public and they pick up the “American” accent. Same thing happens if you move somewhere you will eventually pick up a new accent without realizing it like if you moved to the UK you would likely get a British accent
Same. Some Americans think that America is the standard, so when someone speaks in another accent all of a sudden they're not speaking English. It's self centred and arrogant tbh
Oh my god, as an Australian, I totally forgot about the show Trapped. Used to watch that all the time as a kid. Mortified was the best though haha, I can still hear her mum yelling “Brittany!”
@@fosterstrouble9145 It’s okay, her character in Mortified wasn’t a stereotypical australian anyway, as she was supposed to be upper class and they speak “cultivated” english, which is more posh than the regular accent.
The majority of the second season of Trapped, known as castaway is lost unfortunately, the company has folded. I think 5 or 6 of the 26 episodes exist. It hasn't been on TV for years
nah she just just sounds like a posh Aussie - this posh accent is really prevalent, I remember so many people speaking in this tone to sound more extra I guess ahahaha - there is a difference in our accents from the city to regions.
I had no idea she was Australian in the fosters until i heard her interview with AJ. Love her. Another Aussie taking America by storm. Also it's a prawn not a shrimp. Snakes and Ladders is the best game
I understand that it is summer in australia while it is winter in america, I have known that for most of my life yet I still have a hard time comprehending christmas is during summer break....like wuhhhh.
I find it so shocking that some people HAVE ONLY GOT A COUPLE OF WEEKS HOLIDAYS FOR CHRISTMAS! WHAT? WHY? Also the idea of being cold for Christmas is so weird. And not going to the beach when I'm away for Christmas day is crazy. Or when I'm home, we often end up swimming in my cousins pool in the heavy rain. Oh also, idk what its like in other countries, but ik Americans start their school year in, like, September. Why? we start in January and finish in December. it makes so much more sense.
@@earth2ravenn well it’s basically 40 weeks of actual school, so 4 terms of 10 weeks with 2 week holidays between the first 3 terms and then a 6 week break (for most students) between 4th term at the end of the year and 1st term the next year (mid December to end January)
@@agustinaperez8704 We get 12 weeks (or 3 months) off each year, but those weeks are split up throughout the year. Six of those weeks are over the summer.
@@dailydoseofliv7691 I am a moron as it is "chutes" not "shoots" as I originally typed, but that was the version I grew up with. I just googled it and apparently the original game is actually Indian, and it was snakes and ladders. I guess it's the Americans who made chutes another version that's less scary? idk lol. This changes my stance on my original comment haha.
Maia : “Melbourne is the best city” Sydney: what about us? Canberra: are we just forgotten now? Literally every other city in Australia: are we a joke to you?
why is the woman who played her mom in 'the fosters' making fun of her accent in every clip they're in together? she doesn't seem to be nice about it either👀
I hate it so much when American’s say ‘put a shrimp on the barbie’ like we don’t say shrimp, we say prawn and we rarely cook them on a BBQ. Where did they hear this crap from???
GUYS I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING. I met Maia Mitchell!!!!!!!!! She came to watch a theatre production I was in and she told me we were amazing aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Same. Like as an Australian I’ll watch Australian movies and be like where tf do they find actors with Australian accents like that because here or at least in Melbourne nobody sounds like that and no one says ‘shrimp on the barbie’ and like ninety percent of us don’t say ‘mate’ like ever
It’s a just joke y’all are so sensitive and defensive now days people used to laugh at things like that you can’t even joke and play around on the internet net anymore it’s sad and everyone who said something under this comment is sad and sensitive fr
I kinda don’t like that every time she speaks someone makes fun of her. I love Aussie accents but I would be annoyed if someone did that to me all the time. She’s not that hard to understand lol
that bitch really be thinking shes so funny making fun of her accent when shes just annoying like its just the way she talks there’s nothing funny and her joke makes 0 sense cuz u can understand her perfectly fine
