Spencer, glad you’re experiencing a British project. Years ago I did a TR250 and learned a lot about Lucas, The prince of darkness. I’m an original owners of a BMW2002tii and it’s all original. Drove it to Moss Motors for Triumph parts and it was swarmed by owners of its engineering. I reached out a while back about my father’s 6139-6005 Pogue. Needed overhaul but couldn’t connect with you. Too bad, we could have swapped car stories along the way. Good luck and keep ticking. BTW, I have a 1680 Rolex that’s lived on my wrist since new in 1980. 49:19

For the gentleman wanting a 1988 birthyear watch, I'd definitely suggest a baby ashtray 7c43 midsize diver as well. Lack of service parts is a con, though.

I had a green, plastic timex hand winder that my mom got me for Christmas in 83. I was 16 years old at the time and I loved it. Ultimately, it went into a drawer when I bought my Giugiaro speedmaster 6 months later. Still have the Seiko. Wish I still had the timex.

Those replacement crown tubes are available on eBay. I’ve changed one of my stripped tubes previously when they made them out of alloy the newer ones are stainless steel, just drill out the old one, would just use a two pack glue to secure but when doing the final glue attaching put the crown on the stem so to get it all lined up straight and square then leave to set in place. Yes ok to run Greenbean without coolant system for a short period or time.

You should watch some Mustie1 videos. He's more of a VW guy but he starts almost everything he works on for a test well before putting it all back together and adding coolant. As long as it's for only a minute it's fine. Even with the coolant it's going to take a while for the thermostat to open.

QUESTION (Mail Call): I've had a 7548 for a few years now. It was last serviced in 2018. For the most part it has kept +1 sec a month, but so far this year, it's been losing about 3spm. Any advice?

Spencer this is completely random: there’s an artist I recall you mentioning that you like that I also used to listen to a ton - I’ve been trying to settle the intern debate: was it Fleet Foxes or Lord Huron? Both sound right and are kinda similar
