The clear body cherry switches are for when you want them lit up with SMD LED's.

I'm cheap. For a few years now, I've taken a file to my Fastback blades and have used one up to a year that way. I use the cutter every day to cut up cardboard at work.

A suggestion is to get some made from very good steel which is sufficiently hardened (so a standard file won't cut them), and use a diamond sharpening thing to bring them back to tiptop condition. They hold their edge much longer between sharpenings, and will give you much longer service overall. Only if you're interested, of course:)

You need a special little crowbar tool to pry out the diaposable fasteners. Impossible to do with screwdriver.

I was thinking the same thing. maybe there is a kit to build a standalone colour sensor with an lcd or some other indicator..

The real test of compatability is if you can get a lego technic piece on the peg. Genuine Cherry compatable have the same cross size as a technic lego axle. Black bodys for unlit or point lit, clear body for full lighting

was surprised at your cost for blades... I've found sales here in the US of Workpro and Milwaukee blades (100 for $15). Bummer you have to suffer the Canada tax! D

My experience of getting good-name branded knives at such low prices is that they are made from very poor steel. They have a good edge when they arrive, but don't hold it for very long.

15$ for 5 blades? It only cost 10-15$ for a 100 pack in the US. That is a crazy hike up even for CA

It may depend on the quality of steel you're buying. Cheap knives don't hold their edge for very long.

I have probably asked this before. But does anyone have a link to the old style resistors with the heavier gauge leads for use on breadboards, the new hair thin ones are very hard to insert. The other thing is a link for LED's with inbuilt resistors. As always it is great to watch this and find out what is out there to use in projects.

I haven't noticed those being offered lately. The 1/8 watt "blueish" ones seem to be what everyone is selling these days.
