Its not for the flue, its a safety device to prevent your boiler starting up in the case of insufficient air and/or fan failure. As your fan sounded ok I would hazard an educated guess that the ports to the pressure switch and/or fan were blocked . As it operates on a very slight differential between 0.5 millibar to 4 millibar (a mere whisper) anything that blocks the passageways can adversely affect its performance. A simple test with a multi-meter would have confirmed its integrity or otherwise. Normally the air pressure switch is ok, its the ports that get blocked.

Thanks for sharing. Was your burner cycling on and off or not firing at all? Our Main combi 30HE is showing the 50 degree flashing fault light, with burner shitting on/off intermittently during hot water or heating demand, fan is running fine. Engineers advise change diverter valve (which seems OK) and the secondary heat exchanger.

my boiler pressure switch is pressure switch c6065a1010: 2. is it alright if i replace it with a different part number as i cant find one with the same number. also on my boiler both 30and 50 are flashing.

Nice job, are you both still alive? If so, did you check the gas working pressure and the flue analysis ? Not only are you putting your family at risk. You're ill advising members of the public to have a tinker with their boilers. The aps you changed is connected to a modulating fan. Which in turn modulates the gas valve. Do you have an understanding of products of combustion. 🤨

NO contact means "Normally open" and NC contact means "Normally Closed".

Hi, I agree with some of the other comments, by interfering with a gas device you are breaking the law. The APS (Air Pressure Switch) proves the fan, you don't even seem to be aware of the contacts, normally open, normally closed, etc. By not putting the wires in the correct place the boiler could start up with no fan, everything would quickly melt!!! People like you wonder why gas safe engineers get pissed off. It cost us a fortune to get and keep qualified and to be on gas safe register. Who test the boiler after you home made repair. Hope gas safe see this video.

It is perfectly legal for you to work on your own gas appliances in your own home if you feel competent to do so and want to save some money by doing it yourself , however you need to be very careful when doing any gas work because if you cause an explosion and destroy your home and your neighbours homes by doing this kind of work then your home and contents insurance will be void and you will be left in a world of shit and if you survive the explosion your life will be over as you know it and for what........to try and save £100 / 200 by not using a qualified Gas engineer like myself and the thousands of other engineers out there who pay a lot of money every year to keep up to date with current regulations and attend training courses every other month in order to be extremely competent at what we do.....Food for thought......!!!

Very silly and dangerous not to mention illegal thing to be doing. I’ll like to know how did you check the boiler was safe ? How did you check the flue integrity after replacing the combustion cover ? Very very silly to be promoting this on you tube. Stay safe and always use a gas safe registered engineer.

I used a GAS-SAFE 'engineer' ( I doubt any of these gas safe engineers are qualified professional engineers) and he advised I needed a new PCB, a new temperature probe and a new pressure switch. I did not believe the advice and then cleaned out the pilot jet and the boiler has worked ever since. All this claptrap about 'illegality' of working on our own boiler is just that 'Claptrap' -- the law merely states that has boilers must be worked on by COMPETENT persons, unfortunately a lot of the general public have evidence to show gas-safe 'engineers' are not competent.
