Received the sample set. I wasn’t blown away. Every scent came across as green & cold. The hibiscus smelled best of all but I don’t know if I would get for a full bottle just yet. Maybe I’ll try them again next spring/summer and see if I change my mind.
I felt the same. But this past summer fell in love with Fleur Diamantine especially on hot days . Also Lyn Solaberg and Hibiscus. The Hibiscus can be worn on cold days as well, just don't overspray.
Never heard of this house but I watched the whole video and am definitely interested in a few fragranced from them!! Thank you so much for this video Sophie!!
I tried a few of their fragrances at their boutique and they were really nice! But the discovery set including the shipping to the UK was quite expensive, a bummer.
That first one sounds delicious. What a beautiful fragrance house . Have never tried any of their scents , definitely tempted . Thank you for this lovely review . The bottles are very clean , modern . looking .
I went to Selfridges to test and came out with the discovery set, Absinthe Boréale, and Iris Malikhân. Wore AB to Wicked with my daughter at Halloween. Perfect green experience. Iris Malikhân I wear a lot at night. But it smells best outdoors. It can withstand school run and a tube commute. I also layer it with Gris Charnel as it pumps up the iris in that one and Bulgari Patchouli Tentation is good with it too.
I could very well be wrong, but I don’t think cloud has ambrette. Unless I’m mistaken it has ambroxan which is the synthetic version of ambergris. I don’t think that is the same scent profile as ambrette. I love this scent though! I just tested it today and I’m head over heals, so beautiful!
Super random question, are you good at identifying notes? If I sent you a fragrance that is not listed anywhere do you think you might help me identify what it is? It’s my favorite fragrance in the world and it’s super rare not listed on fragrantica.. Trying to find people that are in the states that might be good at picking up on notes that I could send a little sample to? I think it might be pony… But there’s something very translucent and feminine about it and I’m just obsessed
i am always confused when there is a "smell" to hibiscus; I own several in my yard and they have no fragrance. Just like iris, I smell them in my yard, no fragrance. Can you explain.
They aren't perfume-y, but when concentrated (like dried for tea!) hibiscus does have a distinct smell and taste. I wonder if that's what they're drawing from in fragrances. I'm less familiar with iris but I think the root is dried, fragrant, and used often in perfumery.
