Just made this last night... You weren't kidding with the easier pain in the butt part. I used curved needles and it was still a bear! I did enjoy it though. Now I can store my needles in something other than a plastic bag! Skál

THIS Viking loves thus project. I'm also of Chippewa blood and do many crafts in bone. My favorite, and most popular are "bone" sewing needles. This will work real well for them. I'm glad I found your channel.

To make the carving easier, can you cut the top and bottom pieces as one, carve it, then cut it apart after?

Medieval style. Accurate construction is somewhat different. Box, and but stitching should be done with an awl for best results.

I avoid awls if I can. Not sure what about them offers best results but I'm always up to learn.

I just spend so much time on a video and detailing up a pattern that I have to make some money some way. It's not like RU-vid ad revenue pays the bills. I imagine people can find a free needle case pattern out there somewhere with a little effort though and a lot of probably go find one after seeing this video.

When you said you cleaned up the bleed through, how did you do this? Is there a way to remove the stain?

what resist do you use that you spray on? Or can you spray any resist? Sorry but I'm new to all this.

I wouldnt' dive into 'you can spray any resist' but most of them. Acrylic Resolene or Neutral Resolene I spray regularly.

That would be pretty hard to do. I'd go 5-6 MAX. I've made several of these and the thicker your leather is, the farther off it is from your pattern. But you can always try lol

Random question Would it it be easier to cut one rectangle do the carving then cut it into the two sections ?
