Thank you for your precise and understandable tutorials. I also have a widow and need a hobby that I could make a little extra spending money. I’ve been baking Christmas balls for years but now with your help, I could perfect them. I’m going to a retirement home with a store I can sell OUR beautiful ornaments. Again THANK YOU THERESA aka Meme

Great tutorial. Very easy to follow along... my only suggestion, which most of you probably already knew, is have your craft THIMBLE handy. My foam was fairly firm and after the first 50 pins my poor finger was tender. I grabbed by craft thimble and finished in much more comfort lol.

Many years ago, I made ornaments like this, but with a cross stitched center for the picture on each side - I don't recall how I got them centered, but it seems that I had way more problems matching up the sides like you do - I am so glad to have watched this video, it makes it so much easier now to make new ornaments. Thank you for taking the time to show how to do this.

I made my first one today, for my first ornament, not bad, but dosen't look as polished as yours but its my first one. A few things that I learned. I had no idea the prep work it takes. A lot of cutting, but your website was out of kits. Also spend a little more and get good sharp scissors. Get a thimble, I'm mean my fingers were sore after I made one. Be prepared, this is fun, but probably more so if I had a kit, now I'll never look at fabric the same way. Cant wait to do another. I cant wait till your clubs opens up, I hope the Christmas one opens up soon.

To finish sentence construction. Where there are little bubbles at the bottom, could you do a little slit? Then overlap the pieces so that they lay flat under the next triangle

If i were to do the 4 inch balls instead of the 3 inch, what measurements would i need for the rectangles and the piece that covers all around? Thank you, and i love your tutorials!
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 8 месяцев назад
All of our patterns are designed for 3" balls and we don't have an exact formula for increasing the size but it can totally be done! I would recommend starting by adding 1/2" to your fabric measurements. You will also have to experiment with the placement of the layers of your fabric to get the look you want.

I am interested in doing our logo in the center. I was thingking of getting a patch made. Is that a parche that you used for the Marines ornament? Is it an iron on? What size?
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 2 года назад
It was printed on fabric but you could definitely use a patch. I try to keep the image itself at 2" or less for a 3" ornament. Just be sure you have excess room around your logo to be able to pin and hide.
