Very informational. I am thinking about investing in Vitamix. I am gluten intolerant so looking forward to collect information about all the grains I can possible use in it to create a dough without using hands.

RINSING RICE: Its common to wash rice before cooking it to remove possible traces of talc, glucose powder or rice powder (usually on white rice). However, this isn't totally necessary. If you do rinse the rice then be sure to let it dry so that the blended powder doesn't turn to mush.

Thank you for the sweet comment! The VitaMix really can save a lot of money, and does so much more than make great smoothies! =) I use a long or medium grain brown rice, but I'm sure you could use either. I'm not sure about different grains causing different results, but they can definitely affect the taste of a recipe. White Rice tends to be sweet, while Whole Grains can be heartier and more robust. Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought 2 pounds of brown rice flour that cost $6.00 at Whole Foods that could have cost me $2.00 if I made it at home. Now I have another reason to use my Vitamix. Just wondering... do you prefer long grain or short grain rice to make rice flour? Does one yield better results in baking? Thanks. P.S. You are adorable!!!

Although the VitaMix can make flour from most grains, I wouldn't suggest using quick rice. I'm not sure how that would equate in recipes for whole grain rice flours. I generally just use organic whole grain brown & white rice for recipes as needed. If you try it, let me know how it goes! =) God Bless! ~Erika

I'm researching the purchase of a Vitamix and if I don't need the grain container I won't buy it. Have you done a comparison between flours made the the regular container and dry container? That information would be invaluable to me.

i've read that you should rinse the rice and let it dry before grinding... do you to that? i'm going to use my vitamix for grinding flour from now on! no more buying it pre-ground at the store!

You said FIVE TIMES MORE in half the time as the first video YT put at the top of the list. So I guess I'll look to see what other videos you have that are usefull. I went to four grocery stores looking for rice flour and no one had any except one had super expensive Bob's Red Mill and all I need it for is so my sourdough does not stick to the proofing basket.

before blending we dont wash the rice n dry then...becoz normally before cooking full rice we wash n cooked

No, unfortunately not. You would have to cook the rice, puree it, then dehydrated (like a fruit roll-up) until completely dry for it to be considered 'cooked' - and even then, I'm not entirely sure it would be comparable to 'instant' baby rice cereal. Ironically, this is something I've wanted to try for some time... maybe I will & I'll let you know how it turns out! =) God Bless! ~Erika

Great question! Typically other blenders don't have the blades or motor power to grind grains... It will probably burn up the motor. It's what really sets the VitaMix apart. If you think you're going to grind a lot of grain, then I would actually recommend a grain mill. Hope that helps. =) God bless! ~Erika

Rice Meal can be made by pulsing the Vitamix for several seconds. Using 1/4 cup rice meal in 2c boiling water---it cooks in about 3 minutes. Cook off the extra water to your preferred consistency and let cool. Perfect for babies!

If you want glutinous rice flour, then you can use sweet white rice instead of regular brown or white... Hope that helps. God Bless! ~Erika

How do I wash my rice if I can only use dry rice? My rice is off the farm, and I always have to rinse before cooking. I don’t want dust or dirt in my flour. 🤷🏽
