John Piper is absolutely right that every single Christian - whether in the faith one day or 100 years - needs to keep studying and meditating on the Bible daily. We all have so much more to learn, and we all tend to forget things too.
I totally agree! This new believer, I believe, was asking for practical tips on HOW to read the Word. I listed some tips in my comment. Feel free to add your advice to that. 😊
1. Scripture saves 2. Scripture frees from Satan, the truth shall make you free 3. Scripture imparts grace and peace 4. Scripture sanctifies 5. Scripture gives joy 6. Scripture protects us from destructive error 7. Scripture is the hope of heaven , the knowledge of God will not be withheld from us forever 8. Scripture will be resisted by some , need to know so we are not taken off guard 9. The right handling of scripture is approved by God. 10. Scripture gives and sustains life
Meditate on his word every day, lay in silence in your bed at night and search your heart. If you want to give others guidance then give them hope, we share wisdom for this reason. We live by the word that gives spirit, don’t think “ I think I’ll skip breathing today”.
I want you to encourage you to say that: time reading the Bible is not lost time. You can be ministered by God 📚 The power of God at work and the time ⏲️ with God will be written on heaven.
After losing my mother in 2022 I have been trying to study more like her and my father did. She would sit on the porch and start the day reading the word. I’ve been trying to do that as well for awhile, but Pastor Piper helps me to dissect and see what God is saying.
I read scripture everyday. I used to read the physical Bible daily, but sometimes I have trouble taking it in so I usually nowadays read the physical Bible whenever I can, but sometimes I need a break and go to devotions. I have autism too so my brain works a little different. I can only handle so much at once.
I don't think he speaks of quantity but quality. Sometimes we try to consume a lot. But retain nothing and don't apply it to our lives. Application is key. You can only apply what you consume. Devotions are great as well. But, it's not as important as the Word of God. It's as if you are meeting(in actuality you are)with Him everyday and what He says is important.❤
@@ladya3038 You don’t understand. I have trouble taking in even small bits because of the way my brain works because of my disability. I’m doing the best I can. It’s easier sometimes when I have devotions that explain it to me. I have read the whole Bible cover to cover twice too. I have a really short attention span.
@@drseusslover I'm actually agreeing with you. Basically saying it's..ok. My apologies if what's made clearer for you understand. God appreciates what we can do and when we put forth effort to do it. It sounds like you're doing exactly that..
So I was on RU-vid looking for videos on John chapter 8, and I meant click on his about parts of the Bible not in the oldest copies. . I was listening for some time, and kept thinking that this was some real interesting stuff but when is he gonna get to John chapter 8. Then I realized it was I who pressed the wrong thumbnail. Anyway, one powerful thing which he said that struck me is "We are all assigned on some level to handle the word of God, and what a wonderful opportunity to be pleasing to the lord" Like wow. I'm gonna be pondering on that for a time.
