Today, I made a super easy dump-n-go recipe myself! I had some fresh chopped veggies in the freezer (green, yellow, red bell peppers, along with chopped onion, and chopped tomato) so, I dumped about 9 bell peppers, 2 onions, and 10 tomatoes in my biggest saute pan. On highest heat I cooked it covered to a full boil for a minute or two, until the veggies gave up their broth, then simmered medium high for 12 minutes. To that I added a 12 ounce tomato paste, chile de arbol (any hot red pepper would work of course) garlic powder, onion powder, and some (about 3/4 pound dry equivalent) leftover lentils seasoned with salt-free lemon pepper. I served it with brown rice, and whole wheat bread. Was DELICIOUS! (note - I got all my bell peppers on sale, 39 cents each! I always search for sales, and only buy what's on sale. Saves me probably $200 a month! If the squash, eggplant, and kale had been on sale, that's what I would have used. Be flexible!)
I would have never in a million years thought to put so many dried beans in one pot for a recipe. But I am open to that recipe I will have to try it I have an instapot. ❤
Dillon, I just made this for dinner tonight. Even with all my mistakes it tastes amazing. I forgot to use hot water so it took a while for the InstantPot to get up to speed. Also I used too much water. When done, it was real soupy. I ended up pouring some over rice and dumping the rest into a Dutch oven so that some of the water would evaporate, which it did. This Starch Blaster is so so delicious. I can't stop eating it. Now I'm trying to remember what I put in it so that I can do it again. I didn't have soy curls so I chopped up some mushrooms. Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you made this video! I’ve read and reread the starch blaster and it overwhelmed me. Seeing you make it, made it click! I quickly thought of what I had in the house to make one and I have everything I need already. Thank you again for this video!
Wow, dump and go power! My first Starch Blaster turned out great!!🎉 Red lentils, green split peas, quinoa, green lentil pasta, white rice, can tomatoes, dried veg blend, WYW nooch, can mushrooms, WYW chili lime spice mix, garlic powder, Penzey’s Mural of Flavor, boiling water. Garnish with green onion.🎉
Have I told you lately that I love you guys? I'm using the dried vegis in so many ways, like ramen... so good with lots of great herbs, and spices. Then I have made meals of either brown rice or wild rice mix (2c) together with a half c of green or yellow split peas, and frozen chopped greens. Great as is or as a base for other vegis. Love the taste, and ingredients. Now to get the broth powder. I use a lot of broth, and expect to love the new broth powder. Thanks for being so creative.
Good morning! I am going to try this recipe! However, I don’t have the soy curls or your spices. Would it be yummy without the soy curls? So sweet I could hear your boys in the background. I love that. I miss having kids at home. Mine are grown. I only have one grandson hopefully more in the future! It’s busy on the farm so recipes that are fast and pure would really help me a lot! Have a blessed week! Wendy❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
You can leave them out and it will be amazing still. Our recipes are very forgiving, so you can always omit or swap ingredients. I am glad our recipes have been helpful for you Wendy!
love your dried veggie blend i bought three containers. your children are beautiful and i love to see them on the and watch how thet are growing. cynthia A.
I just made a version of this today. Yummy and hearty! I used chopped carrots and onion. Such a great dump and go recipe. I’d love to know where I can get your dried veggie blend in Canada! That would truly make this the easiest best Instant Pot recipe!,
Right, this is going to be given a go here in Norfolk in the U.K.!! The only sad thing is not being able to get my hands on your own products AND soy curls! I cannot wait until they find a way of producing soy curls over here. So, for now it still has to be soya chunks etc. Thanks so much for all your fab ideas. Hilly ✌️
I just loaded up my big instapot with cleaning out my pantry and refrigerator and freezer. I love spicy stuff so I put three chili dried chili peppers in it. I also had some leftover hot salsa dumped it in. 😅
I’m pretty sure he had one of those in his cooking show he has for members. You really do get a lot for the $15 a month. You could do the $15 for one month to get that recipe and watch other stuff and then cancel if you need to.
@MaryDavidson911 Thank you. Money is a bit tight. That said, I bought all their books and love to support them. I appreciate their efforts to demystify healthy plant based eating.
Hey well your world crew, what's the shelf life of the new veggie blend? I'm considering getting some to put in our "power outage" box for meals that I can cook on our outdoor grill or for camping.
Hi Barbara! To make Starch Blaster on the stove, place everything in a large pot. Allow to simmer on medium heat, covered, until everything is fully cooked to your liking.
Does sound delish and easy. Do the dried (and then reconstituted in the soup) veggies really have the same nutritional value that fresh, just cut up that minute veggies do?
It may be slightly different nutritional value but not enough to make any difference in your life. If you eat like us then you aren’t short on nutrients.
Newbie here…trying to learn ALL the things. Don’t have an InstantPot, & I understand it can be done on stove in regular pot. Would it also work in a slow cooker to dump & leave, or no? TYIA for your guidance.
I appreciate so much the hard work and recipes that you share here on your site, but I'm so sorry -this one I can't abide by (might be good for others however) 😳sorry!! lolol🤣 keep up the good work!! I have been plant-based 40 years and have been teaching healthy plant-based cooking for quite some time now, and I love to see people with enthusiasm for food that creates life, health and happiness in their own bodies ..and in others!! Kudos!! 👋🏻👌🏻🙏🏻
We just came out with a brand new Veggie Broth Mix. We used it in our No-Chicken Noodle Soup and it was amazing! Click here to learn more, wellyourworld.com/products/veggie-broth-mix
Do you have any dried vegetables available? Maybe from online places? If not, and I know this would require a bit of work up front, do you have a food dehydrator? There are lots of videos on making dried veggies. Some are easy, as you start out with frozen vegetables, the kind that are cut small to begin with. So you could dehydrate vegetables, especially when you find a great sale. Just an idea
@@marlies7444 Thank you, I'm aware of 'how to'. But I don't have a dehydrater and no room to keep one in my new kitchen (having just recently moved house). I may get one in future if I'm going to need one for sourdough bread proofing. We'll see. Goodness where it would go! My vegan kitchen is already jam packed with gizmos. Lol
@@WellYourWorld Thanks, Dillon and Reebs, but another difference between life in Oz and life in the States is that we have nowhere near the variety of frozen veges available. I often sigh when you put frozen diced onion, sweet potato or fire roasted corn or tomatoes or grated potato, or, any number of things like tinned tomatoes without salt and so on. Our frozen range is very limited: broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, peas, French beans (string/green), mixed carrot and peas, mixed French beans, carrot and peas, chopped spinach, and an endless range of peas, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and corn mixes, stir fry mix (add snow peas and chunky pieces red capsicum to carrot, peas & broccoli). I've heard a supermarket I don't go to has frozen onion but they are never in stock when I specially go to buy them. But that's it, the cultural legacy of bad British cooking in frozen form. What would they do without frozen chips and green peas? 😂 😭 Dillon, you will appreciate it forces us to have knife skills! 😄 I have since thought I can stick a bunch of as different veges as I can think of and find in the food processor then spread on a large baking tray and put on a super low heat to mimic dehydrating in the oven. Vegetables available at my local Food Co-op are fresh and locally grown, but it can be a bit of pot luck plus seasonal. They have powdered beetroot, lol (lots of good organic grains, nuts, tofu, tempeh and vegan sriracha, 'fysh' sauce etc, etc). We are lucky in having good quality non gmo fresh veges and fruit in our supermarkets fortunately. Having a large population with good soils allows your diversity I think, whereas Oz is more or less the same size as the US but it's the driest continent with a population of 26 million. I'm sure many of your followers from other countries have lots of culturally specific produce too.
Start educating myself? Nice.... I hope that your comment was intended differently than it sounds when I read it. With that, thank you for your informative comment.
I'm looking for details to find recipe. I didn't write it down while u were doing show for I thought u would have it listed. Boy was I wrong. I'm not going to watch again. just forget it.
Nothing is as cheap any more. But inflation has gone down a lot. The problem is the rich billionaires and multi millionaires don't put prices down so they can keep making super profits from those who can least afford it. Consumer watch dogs who shop for baskets of food to monitor prices still find that vegan food baskets are cheaper than all others. It's always more expensive if you're buying meat and dairy though
@@deshn21 I was wondering the same thing. I've used pressure cookers for decades. When you turn on pressure cooker take the vegetables out of freezer. You cook it a few minutes less. After the lid comes off throw in vegetables, stir it around. Put the lid back on for a few minutes and they should be done.
