Is there a more lengthy video explanation of what and how to cut it? I am also confused at what exactly did you cut off after the new leaves appeared? And if you cut new growth, how can it become bushy?
@@mariag.5269 3 new growth points started, but 2 of 3 came out green so I cut them off to allow the half moon marble lower branch and the top of the plant to focus growth into. I could have let them all grow out, but many times at least one, if not 2 of the shoots would slow down growth, and it would likely be the variegated one since it photosynthesizes the least. So I made the choice for the plant, and gave it one lower branch to make it more bushy
This really is new and great information. Thanks. 😃 But on chopping of variegated buds - the videos I have watched in the past always told that to keep the varigation we must chop off the green buds and keep the variegated ones. I understand green ones will make more energy for growth. But then are you telling the green buds will also produce varigated leaves later on so we need not worry? Please help clarify this.
Does this notching technique actually work? I’ve never heard of this and I tried finding other videos or information about it but haven‘t found anything. 😮
@@prettyingreen That's very misleading in your video. Also auxins are not "spent" they simply regulate apical dominace together with cytokins and actually inhibit the growth from axial buds
If a green vine expended more energy than it provided for the plant as a whole plants wouldnt be green. People have to realise anyone can make a youtube video not just listen to everything.
