Totally agree, i have been an assistant to a big artist for a campaign and I knew just not to, etiquette. I have also had my own assistants, they ask me at times and depending on the job I say yes ok, but be sure to credit people. And other times I say no pictures at all. Loving your videos.

My book just arrived yesterday! Yay! Already loving it, highlighting and making notes. Definitely something I will refer back to in the future as well. We are moving to DC and away from an off the map little military town, so I'm excited to be in an area that will be close to locations that will allow me to assist. I'm rambling now but, thank you!

I'm currently assisting a pro makeup artist, as a 16 year old going to school for cosmetology. I occasionally take pictures of what my mentor does on sets or for fashion shows. However, I RARELY post them anywhere publicly, I always ask, and if I do post them, I always tag my mentor and credit her with her work - making it clear that I am assistant. I cannot stand when people try to take credit for others' work, even if it is indirect. Pet peeve of mine! Thank you for this Deshawn

yeah, some did to me before and she not gonna get any job from me sure haha and I faced some hairstylist not focus on their main response and tried to watched how i did makeup and so on haha... what is this ?! and shooting on that day end of with I got a tip and she got complain , so very good case study for me. Thank you so much for this useful VDO and I looking forward to c your new VDO...^_^

How do I go about finding a pro makeup artist to assist. I live in Maryland if that helps.

Miss Tay your question is why I wrote the book. There are so many steps that must be done over time in order for you to connect to an artist. I strongly recommend Assisting Rules ! DeShawn Hatcher, this was awesome!! in the beginning you started to describe just exactly what a "Key" is, would you elaborate? did you move?(lol) and would you ever relocate to California?

The KEY is the head makeup artists/hairstylists/nailtech. They are the ones that hired you (assistants) and you answer to them and no one else.
