It ticks me off to the very core of my being. When women say they're makeup artists and are absolutely not in their pathological buyers and on their video. All they do is lie. Lie, lie by this by that and have filters on your channel and won't show you with all their make up off. We'll show you from a distance with filters and pretend that they look glorious and they go to a dermatologist and get work done and save you. Use all this retina a and all this other stuff that you will get rid of your wrinkles too. Just like she did. Really wanna lie lies and lies tick me off
I have a real concern. I have reported a particular woman to RU-vid. She lies and says she is a makeup artist. And has her channel to that effect and it's illegal mistake in Maryland to say you are and make a farce and have your channel as being one. That's fraud and RU-vid is doing nothing about it. Although it is against their rules and policies and should shut. This woman down and her channel cause it's fake. But they haven't yet.I can't believe RU-vid
Thank you for your great info Deshawn, you are so gracious. I would love to know which foundation is your fave and is it good for all genres of makeup application? RCMA was suggested to me. What is your opinion? Which finishing powder is your fave?
Thanks for watching. I use Graftobian. There's a video on her explaining why. It's just beautiful for the work I do. You can order samples from them or camera ready cosmetics. I use so many things as powders. The only universal powder is rcma colorless powder. Not too big on rcma foundations though. Enjoy it all darling.
@@DeShawnHatcher Thank you so much you are so gracious with your information. You come from a place of generosity and love. Your work is excellent 👌🏾👍🏾! I'm so proud of your work! I had a long career in the Beauty biz working mostly with cosmetic companies ( Trainer and such) doing freelance here and there. I'd like to focus on Editorial and etc. When you do beauty shots how much time do you give yourself? Your work is excellent.. I would think it takes a lot more time to create the perfection.
Listen I just had a model a working model who is now a dear friend of mine come to me recently and she went to another artist who just graduated from a well known school here in NY… mind you 2 weeks prior I did her commercial shoot Hair and makeup… so tell me why I see her left eye with some slight redness and puffiness… before my current career I was in medical… I will NEVER forget my first couple of patients and one of them was in the ER for a painful rash… I am livid. Luckily it was a stye however if she didn’t come to me what could have happened to her? (She’s fine I gave her medication to prevent the swelling and pain) I’m not only angry because she’s a dear friend but a WORKING CREATIVE talent who has soo much talent and WILL make it (God willing) in the modeling/fashion industry. Integrity and responsibility in insuring that we follow sanitizing/disinfecting hygiene procedures/protocols is key… super annoyed
Would really love to see your advice on how to best work with “non-typical” clients. Like older women and men, who have very different issues. Even as a 45 year old, there are certain clients where I wish I knew the best way to handle what to do with things like : ie eyeliner for those with eye sagging, cystic acne etc. Thank you so much! Love your work and these chats
Love your content 😊 I missed this live but all your lives have valuable content and you’re a joy to watch. Love your sheer blue blouse 💙 Thanks for sharing!
I can no longer count on my fingers how many times a client has asked me to not use dirty brushes on them or they refuse to use any of my products because of their experience with makeup artists who do not clean their brushes or their makeup palettes!
very much so. if that young lady had even assisted someone who did male grooming my response would have been different BUT no clue. James, I ask you WTF?
@@DeShawnHatcher it happens all the time, I talk to people who put themselves forward for gigs and ask me for advice because they have no idea what to do. usually its the head of department on a film (zero budget) because they want the title. its insanse!
Your first question is the only question as far as I'm concerned. "How in the world did you get a gig and not know what you are doing"?. Why would you accept a job when you have neither the training or experience? Also it seems to me whoever hired this individual did not scratch the surface enough to know this person wasn't qualified. If you were able to quickly discern this persons bs what the hell is wrong with the those doing the hiring????? Part of the problem is folks are in such a mad dash to "make it" that they resort to all kinds of nonsense just to get their foot in the door. I did hair for years before I got into makeup. I remember working at a salon where we were told never to tell a client you didn't know how to do something. Just bs your way through. It was an assembly line environment all about speed & $$$$$$. It seems to me those doing the hiring don't care about sourcing the best talent or encouraging quality. It's really all about ones own personal integrity and having real respect for the craft. Personally my #1 goal has always been for me to be the very best PROFESSIONAL MUA I can be. That takes time. How much time? However long it takes. 12:48
You know what's funny - I worked for several bridal companies who would pressure artists to do things they didn't know how to do and offered no training. They would just tell the artists is so easy don't worry about it. The inexperienced artists would call artists who knew how crying begging to find out how to do what they were supposed to do. There was one particular makeup artist who did NOT want to do hair but they would send him on hair despite his protesting and he would panic because he didn't know hair but the client was never told they were being given a non-hair artist. I don't know the details of the story you're talking about but maybe that's what happened.
its a shame that folks have no integrity I get it no one wants you to walk around and declare I have no clue lol BUT why force workers into such uncomfortable situations and essentially lie to the client. Why take a gig and say you can do it when you have not one clue? I am baffled and annoyed. Thank you for your comment
Girl I care about money but I will not put a whole production at risk because of being greedy. The harm you could cause by doing what she did is inexcusable
Thank you DeShawn for your great video and sharing your tricks! I’m interested to buy vintage makeup, do you know where I can find any? Physical stores? I love vintage makeup 😍
Watching in 2023. Still watching and love this video. Saw you on Graftobian website, made some purchases, and went to your video and it already had a thumbs up from me. ❤😊🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾 Love this product. I have not found a replacement better. Thank you again for sharing. I'm not a makeup artist but I learn so much from these videos still.
