My Son Kash and I teamed up to repair a fork lift one of my buddies dropped off. Simple job but not easy. We could have finished our day right here but we aren't built that way. There's always work to do. Do you agree?
Hope you enjoy it and I'll see you on the next one!

I was just at your shop this past week 9/12/23. I was amazed at level of detail in your creations. Thanks for the taking the time to sign my poster. All, I highly recommend stopping by and checking out Steve's collection. It WILL NOT disappoint. Store personnel was so nice, and I will be going back next time I'm in Vegas.

Fabrication is the name of the game. Repair it by making it better than how it was originally. Welding is the quick and easy part. The fab work is what takes all the time

Ya don't I wish. Been welding heavy equipment for decades now and don't make anywhere near $500hr. Luckily my late father was a professional welder before going into the trucking industry and taught me how to weld at age 12. First was stick then came MIG and was welding aluminum trailer floors by 13. Later on taught myself how to TIG and would love to find my place in life and finally a good paying job not working for some prick who doesn't deserve it or me and makes money hand over fist while I work week to week and day to day at times. Has alot to do with where you live I suppose as well.

Very true it has a lot to do where your located, sometimes you have to temporary live where the work is at and when you make the big money you can fly home on the weekend's. My nephew is a painter he had to live in a motel for a year when he was working in the desert in Vegas in the MINING caves painting everyday all day long. Even carpenters live in a motor home for the week while there working then drive home on the weekend's or when ever the job is over then move on to the next JOB. Until you find a place you want to buy until you retire then you can retire out to where you want to be. It's not uncommon for people to temporarily move.

I'm very lucky and, even more proud that, my son works with me at a Volvo truck dealership, where we work on all makes and models and, I got the chance to teach him how to weld and diagnose different problems, on different trucks or equipment. He's 19 now and got hired, full time, right outta high-school and is starting to realize that, if you want anything in life, you better be ready to work for it. Great job there,Dad!!! I know you're proud of your sons.

Thank you! Welding can always be a solid go to, even if it does not turn out to be your main career. You will go back to it over and over again. I learned Welding in the steel yard at 15 and I have never looked back.

Have to correct you Steve, it maybe easy and fast now but it took you year's to get at the level of skills where your at now. Glade your passing the knowledge on to other's. Some of those old timers don't want to share what they know. When I first started out welding there was no RU-vid. There was books to read, movie projectors and VCR tapes to watch. I got lucky and a couple of old timers help me out and show me some of there skills. The rest was up to me practice practice and more practice. I never got to the level where your at. I do enjoy watching your work and the project's your working on and get done with. If people never got there hands dirty they will never appreciate what welders, carpenters, electricians, pip fitters, and the rest of the "BLUE COLLERS" do.

Next time you get glasses, have a second set with the bifocal reversed to be on the upper part of the lens and the long vision lens at the bottom. You'll thank me for that someday.

Just wondering what's your thoughts on welding across the RHS as I don't think I remember hearing it mentioned. I know in many cases it's fine to do so if the tube is not constantly being stressed from different angles, but yes it was a top job all the same. 👌

First I would think you added 1/4 inch plate so that side is 1/4 inch out further than the other side, 2nd I hope you had something keeping that mast up in place. Just saying

Id of plated from the inside and then plug welded through, and then plated the gap so as to look original but twice as strong, save making the bracket smaller also
