In this video, I am making a custom bead bracelet with a Dremel 4000 and 3000. But you can make a necklace like this with most rotary tools.
This is a very simple and fun project to make with a Dremel, it takes some time but in my opinion, it is worth the effort.
The great thing about this is that you can use any little piece of scrap wood to make beads like this.
The beads that this method produces are incredibly shiny because you can use as fine sandpaper as you want. In this video, I used up to 600 grit sandpaper.
I could have used the Dremel Stylo+ to make the process a little bit easier on my hands. Because it takes some time to sand 20 beads.

Use a cutting tool to debulk it, sandpaper is expensive. Heck, an old rasp or a chisel corner placed right will do the work for you. The more I investigate other peoples techniques the more I realise that I got lucky with how I do things.

I have some wooden beads but not sure about how to finish them, like the sequence of staining, varnishing, polishing if required. I want to use these beads as a bracelet and stain them from white wood to something like black wood. What do you recommend?

Hi. I would just use some normal interior stain, you can get it at the shade you want. Apply stain plentifully with a rag or brush, then dry of the excess with a rag that does not shed. You can hang them up horizontally on a steel wire for further drying if needed. I guess you could use some clear coat spray paint if you want some extra protection and shine. But I know oil based stains does not take clear coat very well, so you might wanna search and see what that is about. I don't have very much experience with finishing, but hopefully it helped a little :)

Hey! Nice video. What is the piece you hammer into the beads at 0:52? I noticed you used the same metal piece when you made the rings video and I can't figure it out.

Hi. It is an Alan wrench. I just cut off the bendy part. Just match the size of the drill and Alan key and it should work fine.

Looks great. What type of wood did you use in the vid? I'm gonna try doing this with eucalyptus wood from our tree that died recently. I plan to make a buddhist prayer necklace. I forgot to ask. What were those two surfaces you had on your wooden sanding block? I recognized the sandpaper, but not the other two.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I used mahogany wood. The two other surfaces are also sandpaper just in finer grits. I think I used something like 80, 200 and 400 grit.
