Making a Game With FREE Art - Mouse Only Jam Devlog 

Use "floor" instead of "round" for the grid snapping (3:20). It will adhere better to the mouse and make for an overall more responsive feeling when dragging.

Having only one cow left is a lose condition because the cow misses all of their friends and is lonely. ;_;

I think simple addition to game mechanic would be to put timer, and after time elapses, for every pair of cows you get additional one and the difficulty and maybe grid size increase. Cheers, keep devin.

Pick up and move is a pretty interesting mechanic.

I joined the Gdevelop Weekend Jam #2: Mobile Edition and the theme for this one is Leaderboards and I remembered this game. Just know that this game (and the one mentioned earlier into the video)were the basis for my end game result!

huh. i guess every creative community has that sort of "you dont need to [blank] to be able to [blank]" lesson that you learn eventually although, in some cases, i have made the argument that while you dont need that thing, it *can* improve your results. for example, in order to create digital art, you dont *need* to have a few thousand dollar cintique tablet to make good art, nor will your skills improve purely from the quality of the materials you use HOWEVER, i can say with confidence that since i upgraded from a small pen tablet to a larger one, the ease of workflow and some aspects of the quality of my art, has definitely improved. in this scenario, sure you can create games using art from others, in fact its probably a better idea to do so (especially when starting out), but if you want to learn to make your own art and you want to make your own assets and scenery, theres no doubt that it can make a game feel much more genuine that being said, the point i believe vim is trying to get across is that if you *dont* want to have to learn to draw, then you dont have to! theres no reason to force yourself to learn a skill that doesnt interest you, just like no one is forcing you to buy a few thousand dollar tablet. as someone whos been drawing my whole life, i think anyone whos even remotely decent and has gone through the process of becoming an artist will understand if you dont want that lifestyle. whoever you are, i hope you have a good day and that your future is bright:)

Idea: Start with 2 cows and 2 bulls. Must have at least one of each to maintain your herd. Possibly spawn calves if you put a cow and bull on opposite sides of a hay power-up (using it up), and upgrade calves into cow/bull when you place them on a hay power-up.

Just wanna say that those sound effects are gold!

It's old now but a cool idea would have to make the cell giving less points at the center and more at the edges because it's next to a spawn point and the player would have less time to move the cow. Just to trick greedy peoples :p

here's a jam idea: two or more people make some very basic games in 48 hours. Then, they must come together to find a way to combine them into one game.

Great, you could spawn a bull randomly in the field and then drag it onto of a cow and then that could create a new cow.

I think it would more sense to make the point counter ×(number of cows - 1) then when you have 1 cow the point counter adds 0 and thus the game is over

this can be a good mobile game

Having to keep at least 2 cows was a decent answer but if you expanded to bigger stages / levels or whatever you could also have chosen to only allow X amount of cows abducted... like a lives system.

could you add an ai mode to monkeys with guns i think it would fix the problem with not having enough keyboards and controllers
