I am 72 yo, still work full-time as substance abuse counselor specialize trauma recovery. Went through divorce, moved into town house march 2022. Still working on organizing home , and me! You are an inspiration to me. Learning to do what i can and accept that! Deal wtih physical health issues fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Best of luck to you. Change is harder as we get older and I pray things improve for you. I suffer from chronic pain and fibromyalgia also . I’m 75 now and even tho I have a pension, if I didn’t have ss I would have to work at something. Keep your light shining bright as dear Wendy says… hugs to you.
It's lovely that you can hear the owls hooting. There is a tall vintage roof antenna on my rooftop and very often an owl sits on it and hoots at night. It's so calming to listen to his nightly song.
I love that you say, "We like to leave a place better than we found it." Me too. My mother always said, "If you can't leave a place better than you found it, at least leave it as good as you found it."
I love that you cleaned your little flat to within an inch of its life. And that you're doing the same and more to your new home. We always have to clean new places we move to. Cant understand why so many people leave a place dirty. We have always cleaned our previous homes to an immaculate level before moving out. So far things are looking very homely at your place. Looking forward to seeing the end result. Although I know the end result of decorating is always a moving target. Good luck with it all. Take it easy XXX
Loving your new home and so impressed with how you left the old one. You and James are beautiful together. As an "older" woman, I must say that I can't believe the way James pitches in. Men in my generation wouldn't be caught dead doing domestic work. Blessings to you both.
I’m part of the OPB crew 😂 Fibro fog, dissociation and executive dysfunction, many pickles to choose from! We moved into a house we bought 18months ago and had to rip out carpets etc because it was filthy. I’m still getting round to painting it all, I’m amazed how you got through the whole house so quickly.
So glad you’re settling in. You were so traumatized when the house you wanted didn’t happen. Glad things are flowing now. You look so joyful when you and James are working together, it makes me smile. Praying for your health. At almost 66 (in two days, oh my) I fight chronic autoimmune problems so I know the challenges. God bless. Ms Cherry
I sincerely hope the landlord is giving you two multiple months of free rent for the amount of labor and value you are adding to their property. It looks lovely. They are very lucky!
Hi Wendy and James 😊, hope your birh well 🤞, we bought two prints from you a little while ago and after finally !! finshing decorating our staircase, we decided to to hang your two prints and when your video came up justf after we'd hung them we just had to tell you , we just LOVE THEM!!! Their A Mazing , cant wait to buy some more , Thanks to you and James Take Care xx ❤
Dear Wendy, may I say that I loved when at the end you said you were waiting for James to hang the pictures on the wall? I absolutely love your femininity and sensibility, and the fact you don't want to do everything on your own. You have a very healthy relationship and you and James are so lucky to have each other! Love from Italy ❤
Everything is coming along so well. It's definitely a process. I'm still making my new place "homey" and it's just about 3 years now. You've done a lot but do take breaks and give yourself the honey it needs. Rome wasn't built in a day.
😊I just want James to have a muse called Ollie Vetti!😂 Wishing you both many happy days in your cosy new home. Watching you nesting is so inspiring. Love and light to you, and remember self-care (dont ignore yourselves in spending so much energy on your new place). Gentle hugs.🤗
Love the energy that you and James share with us all! Thank you for sharing your moving adventure! I'm just six months in my new place and still rearranging some- finding the right place for all of my "stuff" especially art stuff! LOL - Love you both!
So wonderful that you inspire all of us to keep our light shining bright. Hope that you know how much it means, that someone with a big heart and "audience" says that 💜This means more than how much anyone is "productive". We need kindness more than productivity these days ❤Lots of love, high fives and hugs from Denmark
Wowow! First of all you left the last place cleaner than anywhere I’ve ever seen! And then all of the painting and sanding and fixing things before you could even unpack! Beautiful progress and so fun to bring us along. Thank you! I moved into my home six years ago, I was the only one unpacking, and it took me-I kid you not-five months to get the whole kitchen unpacked! I had too much stuff, and got overwhelmed. Just pulled out what I needed and stacked the boxes in a corner. 😂 Your home looks so sweet and it is great to know you’ve got bird song to wake you and hoots to lull you to sleep. ❤
I think you should put one of the large paintings you painted above your sofa!!! Things are coming along great. I think with your office/art room and the garage for James, as well as the garden for both of you, you’ll be suited quite well in your new home!
Wendy Dearest you speak my language and just how we decorate our space ...xxx So HAPPY You are both HAPPY! x Love to You both and yes I do feel like I have a sieve for a brain at the moment and my Dyslexia is off the chart LOL x You guys are so funny , thanks for making me smile. James is like a piggy in mud working away in the Garage , he must love it and you have space for potting up , how fab! I love the Lab coat too ! I do wish We had painted our place straight away, been nearly 20 years and there is no way now hahahaha Don't forget Out of Chaos comes Creation and enJOY pottering about making Your Home all nestie for Winter . How special to have a wee Magical Garden filled with Songbirds and Owls, much gratitude to You !!!!! x
The new home is really looking good. Your teamwork is making your dream work. I love that its not totally done. Watching the process is inspiring and magical. Have a truly blessed week my sweet friends. 💖🌟
I'll be in the OPB club 😅 I went to put the kettle in the fridge the other day after making a brew🙈 Memory span of .5 seconds! Inspiring as always Wendy thankyou 🙏🌈🎉
"OPB" = Overwhelmed Pickled Brain... ...oh yeah. "O" could also be Overloaded for me. "BJ" Bonker's Journey. "ETM" = Embrace The Messy. Everything is looking so good. What a lot of love filled work. That's the best kind of work :) Thanks to you!
So good to see you two love birds nesting in your new home! So special to hear those owls, and I am blessed to live in a very rural place, where I here those when I go out walking my Madge the black rescue greyhound, in the dark in the evenings now, here in West Devon, England. We are so blessed here to have no light pollution here, so can see the real sky at night, with all the stars. I can even see the satellites some night, going by in the sky! Enjoy your new homely home. xxx
I love how real your vids are in a forum that can be...hmmm a bit fantastical 😅 to put it mildly. We can't get more real than 'life' can we? I become drained and tired very easily, fact, so when I watch both of you working so hard I am amzed at your levels of energy. That green juice is working wonders 😀. I'm over the moon for both of you cos you are a very sweet couple that spread joy , creativity and hope via your vids and art and kind words. Wendy and James, you are a strong beacon of light in a sometimes very dark world. ❤❤ Much love vibes to you and yours both. Blessings in abundance your way.
I love the way you always emphasize self-care. Thank you for being such a bright light to all. Love and hugs from Stephanie J., still somewhere in the middle of a forest outside of Olympia, WA, USA.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate the little reminders to maintain self care and self compassion. I look forward to these youtube visits. Your home is coming along beautifully
I moved into my now husbands house back in 2002. There's still rooms that have same decoration as even I moved in. Little did I realise his total distaste of decorating. He'll say it's because he's colour-blind, well it's the excuse now. It's lovely seeing how you transform a blank canvas and also recycle wherever possible. Enjoy being back closer to nature and having a happy festive season in your new to you space😀
Wendy you are an inspiration to me. Your kind & encouraging words help get me through so much. I have many physical & mental health problems so like you life can be a struggle. I am an artist too but because of my health losing my confidence. Looking forward to your next video. You & James have made your new home look so cozy & lovely. Sending you love & hugs ❤
I’m a bit late to this, but THANK YOU!! We are getting ready to move to a smaller home that we are finally, after almost a decade of saving, buying, and the packing and figuring out how to make it our home is daunting. Seeing the “in between” in your own new home is massively encouraging. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together for you two!
I love your videos. My mom is English and I’ve spent a lot of time in England through the years. When I see you driving it makes me feel so nostalgic. When I see your house ,it brings back such good memories. It all does make me homesick for a place I’ve never lived but sometimes believe it’s home. ❤
Join the OPB club, time to write it down James :) my phone is full of notes & reminders, but I have to remember to look at them. Lol 🥰 You two are adorable together. The house is coming along to make it a home. I would cover those old carpets with room size rugs.
I know I'm terribly selfish but I so look forward to when your videos appear (even knowing how busy you are). Everything is looking great. Hang in there.
Welcome home! It’s a lovely place and the unpacking can be a journey into itself! The fun of discovering things forgotten. Enjoy the chaos. You make it look so fun. And James is an angel.
Yes, I too think lighting is everything! I love lamps and candles for ambience lighting, warm light no harsh bright lights but lots of fairy lights. It’s all shaping up in your new home, making it look and feel lovely and cosy, especially now the nights are drawing in earlier. I’m really happy for you that you can hear and be in nature more with a garden and bringing the outside inside with your plant babies.
Good evening Wendy, so please to see how you and James are making a home where memories and laughter joy can be shared. Please look after yourself , self care ❤ to the maximum, thank you for sharing big soft hugs Teresa xxx
Wow, what a transformation you both did. Everything is sparkling 🥳 your landlord is very lucky to have you both . I’m very excited and happy for you and James .
Perhaps the rain, and the sheep, and the stone walls, and all that lovely green and grey are everyday normal for you, but Oh! it is so enchanting for me to see.
Your place is so cute and youre making it so warm and cozy. Its wonderful to see how well you and James work together so well!!Your paintings are so beautiful!!You truly are blessed with such talent 🙏 I love how youre adding flea market finds to your home!!I love going to theift shops and antiquing!!To me this is whay makes a home your own unique space. Please continue to do self care and hope James does too.Love hearing your birds in the background and jow cool you have Owls!! I've always loved Barn Owls, such cute faces.
Wendy it was so lovely to see you this Sunday Morning from my sofa on a cold but beautiful day. You know it’s funny when you’ve never met in person but you miss them and seeing you this morning and James put a huge smile on my face. The flat looked lovely and the landlord was blessed to have you and James leave it so clean. I did that when I rented too. I love your new in-between house and hearing the birds is wonderful. James is in his happy place putting in the garage 😂, you’re doing so good at getting the house and making it a home. It does take time especially when you’ve got other stuff to do too. But all in good time. I’m looking forward to seeing what your new fairy is going to look like. The studio looks great and plant babies are doing well. I’m working on that tree frog painting that is for my partner’s apartment as his son loves them along with the tortoise painting I already did a while ago. It’s all about the details now on the tree and shrubby areas that surround him… much out of my comfort zone but you inspire me to keep going. Sending you much love, hugs and prayers that you don’t tire yourself out and rest when you need it my friend. May a sprinkling of fairy dust light your way to your creative space and enjoy a magical time. ❤🧚🏻🧚♀️🧚🏻♂️✨💫🖌️🎨🥰🤗🕊️🦅🦆🦉🪶🪽🍁❄️🇨🇽 p.s I have to write list down too… it’s ok as it keeps us on track.😂
Thank you Wendy - I love your music and seeing the country around you. It's very cold here and all the pipes have seemingly frozen for a few days. People say they're probably broken ! they are not I hope - what's wrong to make me worry? No water for 3 days.
You are such a dear, thank you I needed these little small reminders. So Took some time to make 2 small holiday scenes & lights in my home, a window seal & Hallway lights, it’s feeling so happy again . CHEERS TO YOU ALL
This is a delight, and im so happy for you and James. I love you both like good friends. Wendy, you have so many good ideas and souful advice. I love your new place and enjoy watching you get it in order in your own time. Peace and blessings to you❤❤❤❤
Always love your videos Wendy! I think you’re doing a grand job! Moving can be very stressful, especially if dealing with health issues. At one point in my life, I and my family moved 16 times in 17 years. Don’t ask😜 Now I’m 75, can’t imagine even one more move and unfortunately, due to health issues, my house kind of looks like your new digs before unpacking 😳 always look forward to your videos. Appreciate your openness, and willingness to share your journey .
I would make the house look like your studio -- or better yet, live in the studio! All those lovely plants, huge windows, floor space, what a wonderful cluttered feeling of creativity!
Wow you are both transforming this into such a Cosy, Relaxing and BeautyFull Home ~ The whole vibration has really lifted since you moved in ~ Love that your have lots of little feathered friends to keep you company. and Yes the Owls ~ I have them here too and love falling asleep listening to their night-time conversations ~ Take good care of yourself Wendy and Thank You for sharing your journey with us all here on YT ~ Brightest Blessings and Sparkly Heart Hugs winging their way to you ✨💖🤗
Wendy good day, I would like to share my moving method. I have moved house many times. I have bought over thirty house and renovated them then sold for profit some times. But I have lived in all the houses while renovations were happening. My easy method was to put all boxes and small pieces in a room that I didn’t need right away. I would work from there . Then it was easy to take one or two boxes to the room. Unpack them throw away the packaging and then when I was done for the day, at least the house stayed uncluttered and neat.
You two are amazing. Its such fun to take this ride with you! In America a room can not be called a bedroom if it does not have a closet. I think that is bonkers as you would say. 😁 I think this is a very cozy home. I like the mess of moving in as its so comfortable and feels like a work in progress. Such fun! Go slow and take care of yourselves.
Ohhhh Wendy darling I think you and James are such a good team your home is beautiful all that work cleaning TLC you've really made a difference fast too! Thanks for sharing your journey with me ❤
Hello friends! 👋 (I saw the comment about the length of this video) - just to level the balance I would like to add that most people tune in for that exact reason! It's a comfort to sit and feel involved in someone else's cosy, creative life. Someone to relate to and to feel inspiration, love and comfort. In an ever capitalist world, there is so much loneliness and fear - this type of channel brings people together with a sense of friendship and connection. That there is real service to humanity and what more could we ask for 💚 Love from London x
I enjoy your wonderful spirit Wendy🦋 i have just recently came across your utube channel, and i enjoy watching you creating your art., your peoms, and listening to you recite others poems, and the positivity is so good for me🥰 i am from Connecticut, USA and what i also enjoy is watching when you video the towns you go thru in England, i am amazed! I'd love to go one day to England . My husband and i both have English ancestors. Have a very blessed day!
Oh my goodness I'll be in the OPB club, it's literally a daily occurrence. If I don't write important things down immediately they are lost and gone forever. So happy to see your moving process falling into place. 100% YES to the self care reminder ❤ xx
Everything is looking wonderful! I am happy you chose white paint. My entire house is white except the bedroom. I like a gallery wall feel to it. It lets me hang my colorful artwork.
The last time my family moved house was 14 years ago. Although I was thrilled to be moving into a nicer home, I cried and cried on moving day and the days leading up to it. It was just the feeling of attachment to the space due to all the experiences we'd had there, and having a hard time with change. It was nice to see how well the two of you handled the cleaning and the move. Your new place looks beautiful and magical. Thanks for the well done, inspiring videos.
Ooh! its starting to look cosy, twinkle lights make it magical, I will defiantly get some for our next home (start looking again in April, after our cruise). OPB its a real thing James, your not alone. Anyone moving into the flat should be impressed how spotless it is, pity you had to do so much to your new house but at least your making it your own, dont forget to rest. I'm having to remind myself, that not everything has to be done NOW. xx
I've actually been enjoying the "everyday" videos quite a bit. It's always lovely to see you/hear your thoughts, Wendy. Regardless of what the topic or form might be. Hope settling in is going well!
I like your curtain in the living room! I moved 2 years ago and still have a few pics to hang and maybe curtains in the living room. Love your new place ! Love and blessings to you both!💕✨
Yes, the fun bits!! I've been dying to see what you do with this. And yes, challenging in a modern house, I've been thinking just that. How will they make this their own, having such warm and whimsical personalities. It's a blank slate. Some wallpaper or murals would be nice, you have the skills for those so very little cost. You can buy paintable wallpaper to be stripped off if and when you leave. The previous landlord should pay you for your cleaning, it looks above and beyond!
Your new place is coming along nicely. It'll be our second Christmas in our new home, we're still working at making it our own, little by little, it'll be broken in like a new pair of shoes, all comfy and cozy. :)) It's an adventure, so enjoy the ride, though it may be a bit off the beaten path at times, it's all worth it. There is no place like home, embrace it's warmth and comfort and love within it's walls. thank you for sharing your adventure with us all, I do so enjoy the videos and keeping you company!! You've worked so hard, so put the kettle on and have a nice cuppa and take a little rest, it'll all work out beautifully!! Many blessings from across the pond in Ohio! :)) Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes!:))
I love the synergy between you nesting and the birds bringing you joy 🕊️🐦. Thank you for taking the time to appreciate us watching you. Sending gratitude back to you for a lovely Sunday treat video. 🙏
You both should be so proud of all you both have accomplished. I think its quite beautiful and just before holidays. Dear lady you are such a treat no matter length of video and never mind topic.....i soak it all up, you ALWAYS make sense and are a winner with your kindness and beauty that you have inside out beauty. You are real and absolutely adore you.❤❤❤
It all takes time. Just have fun with it. Love the Olivetti Typewriter. My friends Dad used to sell Olivetti products like big copy machines. He used to put them in the big pharmacies and such. You had to put in coins to get your copy made. Us kids used to help count the change.
I laughed when James was picking up Oli! My husband collects typewriters! He has hundreds of them. Literally. I will tell him he needs to name them! 🤣 what a joyful video this was. You and James made my day!
What a fantastic team you both create. Yes a process... an unfolding .. and sometimes we do have to fold our wings and have a rest ... it isnt idleness but a chance to recharge the batteries so to speak,. I am so pleased you have found a next stage place to live and maybe this will inform the next stage of finding your own place... it would be easy to fall into a tempting property that needs an enormous amount of unaffordable work that needs skilled experts ( I speak from experience!!! and listen with my heart to your positivity as I know at my age I MUST make a choice and decision about where I move to next. it's now 20 years connected to France and 18 full time resident! Your home will be cosy soon and the unsorted can be tucked away temporarily as you have a garage . I wish you all the very best for everty happiness and good health... whatever is the problem make sure you get medical support!
Oh how I loved this video! First of all, to see the incredible transformation of your new home and also, getting to watch you and James DYI and stuff!! Most of all I love seeing you look so happy with your progress. Your home is truly "you guys." I appreciate so much your advice for self care especially in these unfolding days. I have taken since Friday of last week off to stay in my own cozy space as much as possible and get my anxiety baseline down a bit. I am thankful for your video today as it made me feel like I too have company and someone who understands which means the world. Congratulations to you and James!
I've been moving the same time you have, and I love seeing your progress; I'm basically at the same stage which is reassuring. It's looking amazing! Thank you for the reality check. The ebb and flow of it all is interesting. :)
