I don't know how much of the books you have read, but a lot of characters do wear dresses with divided skirts for riding. Some wear them almost exclusively.
Outstanding idea, and Bernadette seemed kind and helpful (as always). I love how the stiff leather eliminates the need for boning, but gives the perfect corset shape. I expect the leather will mold itself to your body as you wear it and keep it comfortable. A great companion to the bolero. This will truly be an outfit worthy of an Aes Sedai. The pattern would be appreciated very much.
This looks so incredibly cool! Love the personalised Moiraine look concept! The conversation with Bernadette where you discussed your research process was really nice as well! I hope this project will bring a lot more people to your awesome work.
Absolutely came to say this. It made so much sense and seemed so practical when I was reading the books. and I love that Bernadette mentioned New Spring/the prequel.
Gorgeous! You said you "aren't a professional." Really!? Looks pretty darned "professional" to me. (Perhaps you just meant you don't get paid for your wonderful work. A true labor of love.) Thanks for sharing the process.
Ooooh🤗😮 That's gorgeous! Exquisite pattern and fab construction. Would be awesome to have several of them in different colours with individual themed designs. Wonderful of Bernadette to give her input.
You have a Corgi!!!!! ❤️😬 (well at least you know I watched the whole video to the end!! I loved watching you work, and I love the whole concept of the WOT costume, but the pièce de résistance for me is the Corgi!! 😂)
Amazed by your myriad collection of skills and the endless supply of materials you just happen to have available in your stash! Well done! Loved the collaboration with Bernadette 🤗
Wow, this was so cool to watch. I enjoyed every second. I really liked how you teamed up with Bernadette and asked her for advice and her opinion. I really loved all of your ideas. And I can't wait to see the finished outfit. This corset is so beautiful, the idea with the snakes is absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy, that I found your channel. You are so talented and I really love you accent and soothing voice.
@HazarielAtelier - Fantastic Ariel! Gorgeous blue leather corset! You are so talented! I am a new subscriber today, in England 🥰🏴🌹🇬🇧. I have so many ideas, I love silk natural fabrics, beads, leather, wools, resin, painting mediums - all things colour etc., but I am not skilled - just an amateur dabbler - so you allow me to live out my creativeness through seeing you actually designing and making items in 3D reality. I have watched a couple of your videos now - you have a lovely personality and great humour. You demonstrate so much and give good tips, yet nothing detracts from your skills and finished items. Your videos are so balanced. Thank you! Much Love, Anita xxx 🥰😘.
I made myself a heavy wool full Victorian walking skirt with brush resistant camo at the hem. To prevent twigs catching the wool. With the express intention of wearing it hunting! And I almost only wear it hunting. Because it’s to warm for anything but trudging threw the bush in late Canadian fall/winter. It’s like wearing a warm blanket! I also made a double breasted Victorian coat in camo. To wear with it. I love not looking like a potato in mens hunting clothing when I’m out in the bush. I only wear pants when going to the gym. But will wear full length skirts hiking, camping, and hunting. Because that’s what I’m comfortable in. I do regret it sometimes. As some circumstance make it more difficult to function. But I will continue to do so because. That’s what makes me feel good!! Lol
@@inthewindago stubborn and badass aren't mutually exclusive, in fact, sometimes stubbornness adds to the badassery. The act of someone looking at the only option for something, everyone talking about the best way to do it, and decided "fuck you, I'm going to do it my way and still kick all the ass" is badass and magical.
@@athena1491 thank you!!! I hope to be as ‘bad ass’ as you think I am. I will try harder and do more. So I can live up to your admiration of me! Always work toward the goal you wish to achieve. You may not get their today or tomorrow. But if you don’t try, you will never get there!
I was hoping it would eventually happen, and I'm glad it did! The more the sewing community adds on to this show, the more spectacular it is to watch everyone's progress and interpretations
I’ve never heard of the series nor have I ever shown a particular interest in leather DIYs, but this is AWESOME! I loved watching the video! Très bien! (My brother has a French fiancé, so I need to learn French 🙈)
Dear Hazariel, that was a great work and s formidable explanation. Merci pour le magnifique travail et la conclusion vraiment réussie de votre vidéo. C'était un plaisir à voir. Plus de contenu comme celui-ci s'il vous plaît. Je vais essayer de reproduire ça. À bientôt. Thomas
So THAT’s how a Swiss-waist is patterned! Now I at least know how to start. Thank you! Also… wow that is amazingly beautiful, and I’m impressed with the patience and effort that must have gone into learning each of the skills involved.
The corset came out amazing! For future leather projects I recommend working with a 60 degree angle blade for cutting the pieces themselves. It is a sharper blade, and makes the job way easier! It usually comes for the narrower box-cutters, so it also feels more agile in hand. I've been working with leather for 3 years now and it truly makes a lot of a difference.
Just an FYI, Moiraine wears pants in the last two eps of the show. Also, a corset/cincher would actually have a practical purpose as well, as literal armour protecting one of the most vulnerable parts of the body.
Moiraine wears trousers most of the show except in Tar Valon, but oddly for the last episode when she's going to traipse through a corrupt forest she switches to a pale blue floor length skirt - I'm guessing so Rand shows up better when she has him in her arms.
those are all gorgeous and like bernadette i want to see them all :-) i'm sure this was already suggested/thought of but you could do the flowy dress look and still ride on a horse with a split skirt that looks long and flowy but of course makes horse riding (and covering up) a cinch!
I heartily cheer for the collaboration between you and Ms. Banner. Huzzah! Thank you for the leatherwork videos. It's so nice to have something explained and designed on something other than a computer; I always start in my paper sketchbook. I've been playing in leatherwork since the Holidays, so it means going through bunches and bunches and bunches of YT to get to the same level of knowledge passed on in the standard Cos Tube video production. I love this community. That belt is Ah-mazing. I need one. Not want, need... simply beautiful. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Franchement super!!! 🤗
Lovely piece. For all the potential leatherworkers out there - you don't want to thoroughly soak your leather before tooling - just get it wet enough that it stays dark, and re-wet with a sponge as it dries. And don't use a metal hammer on metal tools - it's possible for chips of metal to peen off, which is very dangerous, and it's not great for your tools - use a rubber or plastic mallet or maul instead.
Just wanted to say, Bernadette probably got as many links of you thrown at her, too. :) I know I linked you halfway through her video. This came out as belle as your shoulder armor. I'd also like to suggest a final side-by-side reveal with Bernadette when the fashions are complete.
I think that it’s a very good simple pattern, and if you have the time I would love to see the digital pattern. If your busy I think we can all understand that!😅
I adore the finished piece here, and the design process behind the whole outfit, especially the idea of working some of Lan's style into Moiraine's outfit.
Ça c'est un chef-d'oeuvre! Votre attention aux détails est superbe. Merci de créer une template digitale -- je ne sais pas comment faire de leather work, mais vous êtes un inspiration! Veuillez excuser mon français, ce n'est pas ma première langue.
I don’t know how I just found your channel, but I am so glad I did!! You are so talented and your pieces are absolutely stunning!! I love that you don’t take yourself too serious and that your sense of humor shines through so much. 😂 I love your Batman scraps/lining that you use in this video and your dark Cinderella gown! Very cheeky and fun! ❤️❤️❤️
That was amazing!! You do such gorgeous work! (I came from Bernadette Banner's channel, but I might stay!) (Your leatherwork also reminds me of Nerdforge, because she makes books, and that is the only leatherwork I had seen before yours. She made a book cover with that same shade of blue, which is so stunning. She also made a really beautiful fantasy costume. Sorry, I don't know the reference for it--but it was cool! She is in Norway.)
