I kind of had a moment of "oh yeah, I'll do that!" when he said "just ask any of the shop-staff or TAs". I want to build my own lightsaber and thought of using the facilities at my university before watching this video but I had not thought about the fact that this video isn't from my university so I was a bit confused when I heard that line.
That's a slot drill not an end mill (4:24) nice design though, might want to look at getting an SVJCR design turning tool, could benefit this style of turning
I actually made a lightsaber that is similar except it's longer and has more detail. But I made it by myself on a regular lathe without programming it.
