My very first project on blender! I looked around and added a door, opening and closing it in animation, and also made the windows glass, adding a light source inside. I was having way too much fun, haha. Thank you so much for this!
THANK YOU SOOOOO VERY MUCH!!! Blender is complicated for someone with years of practice using it; I'm greener than a salamander. Your thoughtful and EASY-TO-FOLLOW DIRECTIONS MAKE MY LIFE EASIER! EASY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!
I was frustrated, not even knew the interface and was trying hard to get started. This tutorial really helped a lot. Thank you :) Keep up the good work.
honestly, i never actually use whatever i make in these tutorials. I just use them to learn. This video is the best video for learning. Information is always better then any currency. And that is what he will give you information. You got yourself a sub and a like
I really great tutorial in my eyes. He may talk a bit slow but that is great for beginners to learn like I was 2 years ago. I am a pretty good modeler now with still a lot to learn, but looking back at this video, I don't think I could have chosen a better video to start off with!
Thanks for the tut. The hotkeys finally clicked for me. B for Box! R for Rotate! X for X-axis! Also, the reason your grass color wasn't showing is you already had a gray material on top. Just edit that material instead.
Thank you so much for saying the shortcuts, it was a relieve to understand what tool do what. I was looking for a guide to make some vehicles mods on cities skyline, but the guy was so fast forward making a school bus that was totally lost. #best #beginner #tutorial #blender
GREAT TUTORIAL ! Thank you Jeremy, I used your techniques to make a house and a car on my first 3d animation rock video ( slain by santa ) Please make more of these - they are great.
your presentation and video is great how ever how no fault of you, I can't believe how complicated this is for a simple house, a pencil tool like the one on ketchup would mean you can cut holes without subdividing and making mesh more complicated then it has to be.
I really appreciate this tutorial, thank you very much. I am hoping to follow through and add advanced materials and textures. I am hoping to make a thatched roof hut. Do you deal with importing materials or using nodes as well? Thanks again!!!
great video to understand the concept. I will point out of course that you've created a house, it would seem, that either has a tiny door, or where the only windows are on the 2nd floor ;) :) But nice very simply well timed tutorial.
Very useful for grasping the basics, but some things are a bit clunky (displaying textures / materials in 3D view is not discussed, for example). All in all, great way to get started with Blender!
Nice one. I think I'll add a plane with emission on the windows and I'm gonna do a "wooden" cross on it. Do you have any tutorials how to add textures to objects using added photos? Really helpful, thinking of a short Christmas clip making.
I was looking for a tutorial-and I FOUND IT!! it's a nightmare going through all of those blender videos a finding they are in '*TAKEOFF MODE*' plus nobody speaks!!
I'm able to animate a house like that, but how do I animate many passable houses for a game? in the unreal engine there is a tool where I can type in the mesurements of a wall and then just snap the parts together, but I don't want to use the unreal engine. Would you suggest useing google sketchup?
Hey jeremy so i was thinking about how to make a working door ofcourse it depends on game engine physics but like idk if you have to do something in blender for it to work and if you could make a video on how to make houses and building ypu could go into it would be appreciatdd
I want to make a game and I already designed a map for it. But I couldn't find any free house/apartment models online, so I need to learn blender to model my own houses.
Hi, Can you help me create my Blender Roblox DC Universe? I use Blender 2.79 (without the cycles part), Roblox and Motion. I need help with the animation poses and timing, effects, landscaping and building/city designs.
hey man. if i created a object for example a house using blender. can i actually explore the inside of it?? or should i do it on unity 3D? thankyou in advance hope u see this (Y)
Ya, you can. One way to do it is to just zoom in until you zoom in until you're inside the house. Another way would be to hide one of the objects like the roof (click on eye icon next to the list of objects in scene) so you could see into the house from above. Just depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
Your Blender is looking fine. I have just downloaded it. text and buttons are too small, hard to see. How can I enlarge them? I have 15.6 inch Full HD screen.
This is a great tutorial. I have one question. How can I export this house with the colors to unity? Or do I have to recolor the house on unity? Now on the object mode I selected the house and clicked export to .fbx and when I open it on unity it doesn't have any colors. Thanks
I have a Problem. I build the house and now I want to add one more cube, to create a fence. If I want to rotate this cube, blender ist also rotating the house. I even tried it on diffrent layer. It seems like there is a kind of a relationship, that I don't want. What can I do? The tutorial is really good!
Anja Riewe It sounds like you must have added the "fence" cube while still in Edit mode for the house object. What this means is that the "fence" cube is considered to be part of the house object. In order to add the "fence" cube as a separate object, make sure you are in object mode when creating the "fence" cube. The Tab key switches between object mode and edit mode. Hope that helps!
I dont know if you are stil checking in on this tutorial anymore but if you do, can you answer a question? At a point in the tutorial you start selecting faces to set a colour to the wall, door and windows. I am doing the same thing on a project on my own, but when i try to assign a material and a colour to the faces i have selcted the whole mesh gets the effect. As far as i can see i am doing excactly the same thing as you do, only diference is i am doing it on a cylinder. Any clues to why i cant aply the effect to the faces i have marked only?
Not bad. I got all the way to the collie assigning and found that there is no way to assign anything as under "Cycles Render" my version doesn't have any where near the options yours does to include a way to complete the assignment by having an actual assign button. I ran in to a void of have a seemingly featureless version of blender.
