It would make sense to lay out all your lines before you cut any holes in the jig. It's easier to lay out lines from a point rather than try to accurately find the center of a bolt or a hole. Just a suggestion.

Nice jig. But you could have made a like where the corner of the previous cut should be instead of the middle of the round part. That way you would not have to measure up the middle of the rounded part, when you turn the knob for next cut. You just have to turn it to the corner of the cut.

the fingers are way too close to the router bit! i would install the bolts using threaded inserts and use a bolt to guide the piece while routing. it‘s a lot of work for something that can be readily bought. i would use dividers and math to do the layout. nevertheless, an interesting video.

An ingenious jig which produces great looking and practical knobs. Much better looking than factory plastic one . So the good part of the project is the precise jig that you’ve made making it possible for reliable repeatable knobs. The only remarks I’d add which you can take with a pinch of salt is: ideally you’d use an insert fitted into your router table just a little bigger than the cutter. Although it may never have happened yet, but if one of those knobs were to be accidentally tipped a little the cutter would instantly grab it our of your hand at a million miles an hour, possibly hitting you in the chops. The only other thing that jumped out at me was how close your fingers were to the cutter due to the size of the knobs. There are loads of hold down jigs on RU-vid to avoid loosing your finger tips. Your clearly capable of making one. These aren’t criticism’s just observations you may not have thought of. However I really admire the jig you made especially that you are able to make identical repeatable knobs, nice work.

And also by the way as far as the bolt or stud whatever you want to call it I simply drill an undersized hole for example I use a 13/64 drill bit I use a quarter inch by number 20 thread screw buy whatever like and I let itself no need for glues backer boards or whatever again kiss!

Respectfully, all you really need is a line connecting the center of the the knob with the center of whichever radius you are using. By marking the divisions on the knob itself all you'd need to do is line up your division lines with the center line and cut your radius. Thereby eliminating all the other lines marked all over your jig.

Sorry for the thumbs down man but that's way too much work I made a simple template out of 1/8 in plywood it is 3 inches square with a center hole and for finger holes I simply place the template on a 3 inch square piece of plywood I Center punched the holes then pilot drill the holes then drill the holes at proper size and use hole saw for the overall diameter take s5 minutes maybe fancy jigs our nice to watch but they're really not necessary as the old saying goes kiss... Meaning keep it simple stupid oh and by the way I can clamp as many as I want together I can make 2 3 4 5 at the same time in minutes nice video though way over complicated for my taste I don't have that kind of time on my hands.
