Cheap DIY Dust Cover (Slip Cover) for a pair of Focal Twin6 Be monitors but it can be easily adapted for MOST brands and models. Make a custom dust cover for your precious monitors! Head to the red tag section of your local Joanns (or any other fabric store). All you need is a yard or two so it's really easy to find super cheap but good quality fabric for projects like this. We used a SINGER ONE sewing machine but any home sewing machine would do. We carefully used iron to touch up the vinyl on the WRONG side to remove wrinkles. Be careful with that as it could melt or permanently damage your fabric!

Made a pair of these covers today and they turned out great. Bought $30 worth of marine vinyl and spent about $12 on leather needles for the machine and heavy duty thread. Whole project took about 3 hours. Thank you for the instructional video. Very well done, explained, and edited.

This is basically a DIY dust cover project for studio monitors. You could probably use this concept for a variety of gears such as mixers as well. My friend was having some problems with his sewing machine and stitch lines did not come out as straight as he wanted, nonetheless the final product was a perfect fit. As mentioned towards the end of the video, if your device has a lot of connectors and cables in the back, you don't really need to make any cutouts at all. Just sew up to your desired height on the back lines and then leave the corner lines open. This way, the back section of the cover can just drop over the cables.

Looking this video before time I bought а piece of artificial leather for 3,7 Euro. After that I made drawing on paper and cut it. Brought the leather, the cut, and one of the monitors to a local tailor and she made the stitch for both the monitors for 10 Euro. Probably not the best of the best look but for me is absolutely enough! The monitors are Presonus Eris 5. Thank you for this very good video ! ! !

My fabric includes 1/4" foam. backing with a tricot layer. Do I add additional ease for the thickness of the fabric? The speaker coating is a specially baked on rough finish which catches on the tricot. Should I also include a certain amount in addition to the ease allowance before adding the seam allowance?

You need to allow for a little more than a 1/4"....maybe 3/8" would be better to make it fit loose. This would take care of the first part of your question. As for the 2nd question, I think if you allow for 3/8" that should be plenty for ease allowance as well.

My heart went flying 💔 when I saw you bring the measure on top of the fully magnetic beryllium tweeter which I destroyed several months ago and payed 500 euros for it, it was ripped apart because I stood too close to the tweeter and the metal zipper of my sweater stuck on it and I made a hole in the middle
