I tried out the iPhone music making app Medly for the first time and made a couple of beats. INSTAGRAM ► / leviniha TWITTER ► / leviniha SOUNDCLOUD ► / leviniha SPOTIFY ► open.spotify.com/artist/5hiUh...
He does that so people cant just remake the exact song... if they dont see it then they dont know waht he put so they cant recreate the EXACT same beat. They can create a similar one but it isnt the same
Bit of a long, uninteresting tangent: I used to use Medly all the time. It’s one of the apps that got me into making music on the go so this is nostalgic to me. It used to be my favorite pass time, I even bought and used all of the original instrument packs of each genre. However, I stopped using it because of all of their updates and reworks made the app glitchy, alongside them changing the sounds of certain instruments completely which janked up a lot of my old projects. They even introduced their own samples of SFX and vocals used in featured demo songs by talented artists, but weren’t implemented well in the app and had lots of bugs that for a long time went unresolved. Now, like all other higher quality mobile music apps, everything you’d want to utilize has a price, which is understandable. Don’t get me wrong, this app was really fun and I assume still is. But I just feel like Medly Labs trying to transform the app entirely really harmed this character that it had before. Great beats Levi, btw. It’s interesting to see all of the instruments that come in their new membership packs.
I personally find Auxy better to use overall. There's curated drum and synth packs, from professional recording artists and studio engineers. Sure, it also has a subscription, but has higher quality instruments, along with some eq parameters as well.
Someone showing Medly some love!! It’s a really fantastic app for making music in your spare time or for fun. I make music on it, but never to the complexity that you have in just a simple loop like this. Fantastic! (oh if anyone wants to I post the music I make so go looksie if you’d like)
The chord progression in the second beat reminded me a bit of Daft Punk’s song “Get Lucky”. I like it! BTW, since Christmas is coming in a few weeks, I have to ask, have you ever thought about making Christmas music?
Speaking from personal experience, Medly takes some getting used to with its controls, especially on mobile. But once you get the basics down, you can make some amazing songs.
Medley is my first app I used in end 2015 that I started whit. Now I produce on Ableton and I need to say how much this app is important. It gave me love of music producing. Btw this app heck of evolved 😂
Oh my god.... I used to use this app in my old iPad (Yeah, the thicc ones). This give me nostalgia, but this one is starting to get more premium (ik its free). Before it wasn't. Also you can't install it in old versions of the ipad now days. I had fun while it lasted. Thank you! For making this video.
Yay you checked out my favorite music app lol! You would be suppressed how much you can do with just the free stuff. I never really bought anything and I’ve been able to make all the sounds I needed.
Levi, you should try Auxy, you can use a library of drum samples while making your melodic instruments unique to how you like it. I highly recommend it
