I stopped the powder from going by the wad using .22 Long Rifle cleaning patches. I prefer the round ones but the squares one work just as well. But what ever you have works well also.
Thank you wade for the video great information as always. My thoughts and prayers are with you and ,miss Joan hopefully you're able to get her home soon.
My brother use to keep a little jar of carmex chapstick he would put a little on the edge of the wad to stop powder from leaching by,I just used one of your#4 load's to take a 6 pt this past Saturday here he was 103 yards I put the bead about a foot over his front shoulder,9 pellets hit the shoulder and 3 went in the neck you have perfected buckshot Mr, wade and we are extremely glad to hear Mrs, Joann is doing better,Just about everyone here in silver springs Florida has been praying for y'all,
As always.. appreciate the information. Some info for you.. 1) The identifying feature of high brass/low brass in paper hulls was secondary to function. When the black powder was loaded higher than the low brass, the black powder would burn pin holes through the paper hulls shortening hull life.... thus the need to raise the brass height for hunting loads (more black powder). You are correct for modern hulls.. no difference high or low brass. 2) The powder is leaking by in straight walled hulls because the cb1138, Which is an awesome hull, is the WAA12R replacement designed for tapered hulls. The paper towel trick works great as I've used it in all brass shells for years. The other option is to flare the bottom of the hull for a better gas seal & so no powder leaks by. Thanks for the video....
you said it all when you said "there is power in prayer " i'm glad ms, Joan is doing better and for that i praise God and give him all the glory my question is you stated that the power could not fill the bottom of the shot cup with a small powder card below the wad but doesn't the paper towel prevent the powder also from filling the same area? love the videos looking forward to the next
Love watching your reloading videos, as well as all the rest. Praying for your wife and family. We can't shoot buckshot here in NY, could you do a series on different types of slug reloads for 2 3/4" smooth bore 12ga rounds as it's herd to find some here.
Mr Wade. 1st off love your content/channel and am very thankful for all your valuable knowledge you share. Due to RU-vid’s new attacks/restrictions regarding firearms and hunting channels will you consider posting to rumble in the future if your channel is targeted along with all the other firearms/hunting community. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and your plans regarding the new restrictions. Again thank you for your time knowledge and expertise. Very thankful for you. Have a good day sir
You answered a very tough question I've been trying to find an answer to about loading buckshot in low brass shells because I couldn't find a sure answer anywhere I'm trying to get started and want to be 100% safe about it and didn't know if that was safe or not to do
Glad to hear about miss Joanne. Thank you for these informative videos. I'm a newbie for shot reloading. The 00 buck I bought in bulk long time ago does not have the buffer material you use in these loads. What purpose does it serve?
Hey Ron... the buffer helps keep the lead pellets round during the firing process. The rounder the pellets stay, the better the patterns at extended ranges.
I make something similar. Chedite 209 LONGSHOT 27.5 FS12 .350 00+(12) 1 7/8 oz BPI Original 8 Point Chedite 209 LONGSHOT 27.5 FS12 .350 00+(12) 1 7/8 oz BPI Original Roll
I like the 10 and 12 of 33 34cal, 10 in mg42 groups crazy at 45y4ds and the waared is the cats meow otherwise..honestly both pattern for my in a 705 constriction 12g patternmaster(which really doesn't do anything "swirl ring technology" does nothing but still ok regular choke) especially in big buck
Ive been using 17gr longshot and waa20 wads. Seems to do alright with damn near anything that fits in the shell. Birdshot, buckshot, russian pellet slugs.
my 870 loves the bigger pellets! I use the Kicks Buck-kicker in Full choke and the xFull choke! It does best with my 14 pellet #00 and the 16 pellet #0. It also loves the #000 loads!
