“They’re still pretty depressing.” Josh, Joshua, Joshy Boy. I am not consuming McDonalds nuggets because I am living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I am consuming them because it’s 1am and the ham slices and cheese in the fridge just isn’t satisfying my cravings, and I have no desire to go into the kitchen and make my own nuggets while entrenched in darkness and hissing at every living being that also lives in my house.

I tried making them at home and I found the biggest key, make the chicken mixture and let it sit in the fridge overnight then batter and fry. The taste difference between frying right away and letting the chicken marinade OVERNIGHT is INTENSE .

These turned out awesome even though I didn’t follow it exactly. I’m broke so I used a cheese grater on some frozen chicken breast. I also subbed w/gluten free flour. I don’t have msg or white pepper but I made it work with other seasonings. It still turned out great! 😊 Thanks!

Made this your way and it was Great. Made it again but with whole chunks of thigh meat instead of mince an it was next level. Made them again but CBF making the batter and used cornflake crumbs and they were still crunchy the next day without re-frying. 🤤

Id say it probably is mostly chicken, maybe padded with a bit of breadcrumbs or something and definitely loaded to fuck with preservatives seeing as you can leave them out for about 4 months before they even begin to go mouldy

As a former mcdonalds employee, i'm surprised you picked up on the celery, that's def the key note, and I'm sure it's wonderful. For an accurate test however, put your nuggets under a heat lamp for 20-30 mins and let's see who comes out on top

yes and no. I mean, while Josh definitely completely crushes them in terms of flavour they crush him when it comes to convenience. The thing Josh really has going for him is that it's really hard to "go back to the regular stuff" once you got "a taste of the real deal".

They really tasted like the McNugget. Personal criticism, cut back on the sodium, personal taste. If I could have pressed them with some type of form, the meat would have been more firm. I do like that they were light and not dense. Thanks for the recipe, a lot of work, I forgot to mention, freeze skin before processing with the very cold chicken. I still don't like Mickey's Nuggets, but the kid do. I last ate them in 1989.

@@nieladrew I made the nuggets without the barbeque sauce because I didn't have most of the ingredients for it but the nuggets turned out great! I do have to say they were a bit salty but that might've been on me as I think I accidentally added too much salt. Other then that they tasted really good and had an authentic McNugget taste and they genuinely tasted like McDonalds! Tried them with Sweet and Sour sauce and it was amazing. Very simple and fun recipe so I will definitely make more of these in the future.

McDonald's barbecue sauce is okay, but my go to sauce for McNuggets is their hot mustard. OMG that stuff is so good! I wish they sold it by the bottle; I would definitely keep it on hand at all times.
