A few hints for everyone you have inspired to make bread... You can take the paddle out of the pan immediately after the last kneading (some manuals call it a punch down) and before the last rising before the bake cycle. You'll still have that small hole from the post, but it isn't as large as having that paddle stuck in there. Also, I've heard that spraying the bottom (only the bottom) of the pan and the paddle too, will help the paddle slide out of the loaf of baked bread. You need a bread knife or an electric knife. You need to let the bread cool before you cut into it. Cutting into a loaf before the crumb (that's the texture inside) has fully set will destroy the crumb and prevent you from utilizing the entire loaf fully, all for the sake of a single slice. Room temp butter should spread just fine.
I got my new bread machine a week ago and I’ve made 3 loaves of bread so far! I have to slow down because there’s just two of us. Good thing bread freezes well 🤗
I bought mine last year. Still the box. I took it out tonight and figured I better get started learning how to use. Especially in the days we live in!!
Oh yall are updating me. Lol. I haven't been able to use mine and I gotta start back using it. I love fresh bread. Hope yall continue liking it. Have a great weekend.
I got a Hamilton Beach machine a few months ago after doing lots of research...I am so glad I bought it...they make beautiful breads that come out perfect every time..still have many things to try out with it too. Thanks for this video.
I have the same machine. I take the paddle out right after the second turning of the paddle. The third turning is only like 4 turns and hardly does anything to the dough. I’ve done this several times and it works fine. You end up with a small hole rather than having to cut out the paddle out at the end.
i just bought a bread machine due to how hard it is to find bread in stores due to the virus. i'm glad i saw this video especially regarding the paddle
Thank you so much for your video!! I have been trying to make bread in my maker and it never comes out and after watching your video it’s finely looking like bread it’s not done yet I have another hr to go!! Thank you I hope you make more videos like this one!!
My brother used to make bread in his bread maker all the time! He used to make Raisin Bread, Garlic Bread, Potato breads! and all he had to do was add the Ingredients!! the machine did all the rest! Although his paddle didn't come out of the bread maker! it just baked around it. He used to LOVE his Bread Maker! You'll enjoy it I'm sure!
Putting the basket, inner case, into the machine gave me trouble too at first. I eventually saw a review and was able to get it in. My eyesight is not all that so those dented words on the machine did not help. Now, I realize you set it down at an angle, then twist to "lock" in place. 6:57 So you go left-to-right to program it. The "cycle" is the bread type you want, repeatedly press for correct number. I tried to make dough and it was on the wrong cycle. (I think it is 7) I couldn't cancel it. Thanks for the help!
Great job! Bread looks really good!! Get yourself a Bread Knife and your bread will cut much easier. 😄 (it's serrated but not like a typical serrated knife)
You can safely keep butter outside of the refrigerator so it will be soft and spreadable. I keep a couple of sticks on the counter, in a covered refrigerator container, and I always use a clean knife to scoop out butter, so I am not contaminating the butter. If you do that, the butter will not spoil.
I loooooved the way you explained all the steps, very strength forward and simple, thing that a lot of people and professional film maker didn’t do it. Great video, my bread was delicious.
i have a serrated knife i use for bread cutting. it's not that the knives aren't sharp enough, it's they have nothing to grab on to to start cutting the bread. get one of the cheap serrated knives from walmart or dollar tree. It's the one with the teeth on it. or the one you'd use to cut tomatos with. this looks really goood I have an old hamilton bread maker in my closet i've never used. i May have to just try it.
if you slice the bread 90 degrees from how you did it, that hole caused by the paddle will only effect 1 slice instead of 2+. You will get 1 U shaped slice instead of 2-4 slices with holes in the middle of them.
That sound's like a good idea, but not familiar with a 90 degree cut, but will have my husband show me, I have 2 paddles in my bread maker and it's pan is horizontal, not vertical, so far it doesn't leave the big holes, it's a zojirushi but it only makes a 2 lb loaf. and it's 7" tall have to cut it into to put it in the toaster, only thing I don't like.
Debbie , I really enjoyed your recipes today. I watched the veggie salad and the bread. Machine. You made me want to get out my bread machine. So thank you! I think I will add some salad supreme in my salad. Well Keep Cooking, and ok will be watching. Love to hear about your family, that's sweet. Your cooking friend,Beth.😊😊🐰😊
Hi Debbie how are you ? I’m sorry I haven’t had time to keep up,with your videos, I’ve been so busy 🙈 but I’m trying hard these days. that’s a wonderful looking bread, I love to make fresh bread, it’s just time consuming but bread makers help out a lot.
I didn't cut the crust off. The 1st piece is your heel. I have since this video got myself a great bead knife. At the time of this video I wasn't so used to using butter but used soft margarine. Now I know that room temp butter spreads just fine. Thanks for your comment even though you thought I cut the crust off. Lol. You have a great weekend.
Omg my younger son gasped when you cut the top crust of the bread. (You cut the side opposite of the bottom with the paddle…which is absolutely the Top Crust!) The heels are the first AND last slices of the bread in a loaf of bread. Still we enjoyed your video and gave thumbs up.👍🏼
my notes for an ingredient list Hamilton Beach has you add wet ingredients first, then dry, finally yeast on top. 1 1/3 cup warm water 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons sugar 1/4 cup butter or oil 4 1/2 cups bread flour I substituted all-purpose flour 4.5 cups or 19.125 oz or 540 g 1 3/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast Put settings on 1 for basic bread, medium crust, 2 lbs loaf.
Glad you stopped watching it because i share things with my subscribers that's part of my life. I'm not just about recipes but my life and family as well. I want my subscribers to know about me and like all I'm about. Have a blessed day!!!
