In my pursuit to make my hifi audio system better, I accidentally made my system worse before I figured out how to fix it.

The one thing you said that got me was “ Wife Approved “, as I’m 65 years old, and have been married for 47 years and never once felt my wife has control on how much I spend on my system, nor did I care one bit how she feels about the appearance of my room, that’s why she has a dedicated room for watching tv, hence out of my way, as it should be in a marriage where both parties are meant to be happy….., it’s called compromising.

Hey Dr. Phill - I love my wife and we have mutual respect for each other. She doesn't "cotrol" me and I don't control her. But there are things which out of love I CHOOSE to compromise on just as she does. Since it's a mixed use room for us out of love and respect for her I choose to strike a happy balance that works for the both of us.

I tested foam feet from Sonic Design under a 21 kg integrated amp and the improvement was very noticeable. SD foam feet is relatively low cost and well worth trying before trowing a lot of money at fancy gear. B t w marble is very resonant for a stone. Granit or soapstone is more dampening if that's what your after.

I just checked the website...no list price means they're too expensive for me...as in if you have to ask, you can't afford it!

I found that Nordost Kones worked best in my system, you just have to follow there smart but special instructions. Best tweak i've ever done period is a loom of Synergistic research purple fuse and a Master fuse in a dac. I'm using an old Solidtech rack with soundcare spikes, they work very well.

I am using Townshend podiums on my speakers and platforms on my electronics. Maple based rack.

solid steel rack will improve the bass and clarity of your existing equipment but some may like solid steel + wood top for a more neutral sound.

Solid steel makes nice racks. But I priced the HF rack and for me to get a set up that allows me to hold the number of components I have it's $10K with tax.

I find them different. They sound great but sometimes the Revopods can be too much of a good thing and can give me more detail BUT also too much more brightness. So I'm still playing around with them all. I CAN say the SoundKAOS are definately top-tier and among the top I have tried.

I would say they are more neutral but NOT cold and bright as neutral may signify.
