I hope Larian never trades their individuality and creative freedom for corporate bs. As long as studios like them exist, people like me will fork over the money. It feels good to own the game and support them. I know a lot of players feel the same.
Same. It´s one of the more expensive games I´ve bought, but hands down one of the best. Fx. Diablo 4 was about the same price, but isn´t even in the same universe of quality as BG3
@@DamienVryce-dd6gm from what Swen said it’s not that they don’t NOT want to make an expansion but more that they’re not sure how they would. The game is capped at level 12 because DnD gets absolutely crazy and nearly impossible to balance once spells like “Wish” start getting introduced, so they don’t know how they’d make an expansion without raising the level cap, unless they make an expansion that takes place alongside the base storyline rather than after it.
Ketheric had one of the most impressive voices I've ever heard in a video game. It feels, believable. A devote, religiously radical old solider. Never actually been knocked back by a voice in a video game. The whole character around the voice is the perfect combination.
The fact that they hit every point from the community update #1 over 4 years ago should be a shining badge of honor for them. I watched it after release and it could have still worked for the full game, not just early access.
@gchristopherklug It should still be on RU-vid, I believe, but they kept true to all of their goals that they claimed publicly through early access into full launch.
Imagine you're a suit at Wizards of the Coast, and this Belgian development house comes up to you and says "We want to license Baldur's Gate 3" and you say no, but your fellow suits are convinced and they agree. 7 years later, BG3 comes out as the greatest RPG of all time and the best ranked PC game of all time. How would you feel?
If I was a suit? I'd feel rich as fuck boi. But as a player I am glad they got the license 7 years ago and not today. Because if the license was sold today we would have a much worse game. Unfortunately WOTC has lost its way and it's soul. They are a soulless mindless corpo now.
What I love the most about this game is the tremendous attention to detail and the freedom of choice the player can have. The music scores are so good, sometimes I stop mid-play, just to listen
When the director of a game, suits up and let's the child inside him come out and have fun you know you will get an amazing and passionate game. This is just so rare in the corporate gaming world. Off my hat to Larian studios I truly love you. I am replaying the game the 4-th time.
I'm already finishing a fourth playthrough and have a new character in late act 1 and I only bought this game in January. Already called it "game of my life" and its second most played game on my Steam account, after Stardew Valley. It has so much replayability, if not for the story forking out in many ways (for example, I wish there was somehow a way to not kill Ketheric but instead side with the Absolute as we know it), for all the builds and characters we can create and play styles we can go for. Might be the first game I 100% achievements-wise, too, although I'm still scared of honor mode as well as Jack-of-all-Trades.
He looks so happy just talking about the game. I love that excitement and just pure joy at what he's creating. I hope to god they don't go the blizzard path of evil.
It's been a week since I started playing, and I haven't even found the druid yet. Not because I couldn't find him, but because I kept getting deeper and deeper into other stories and issues. There are so much things to do. I literally spent hours reading and preparing my stats & skills, then spent hours playing with the spells against the environment. Also spent hours just listening to NPCs interacting to one another. WTF is this game? You mean I can win a fight in so many different ways? How is it possible to be this immersive? I'll never be able to finish this game at this rate!
Can't wait to get this on the PS5. Devs worth supporting. Update: I currently 20 hours in. The game is a masterpiece (so far). No game has captured my attention like this since The Witcher 3. Update (2): Finished. Definitely my game of the year.
Mine too! I've spent so many years waiting for a game that replace me The Witcher 3 experience. In august i've heard about BG3 for the first time but had no opportunity to try it (i play PS5 only). Now i'm walking through it for the third time - def the masterpiece!
I’m so excited about Maggie doing this role! She puts all of herself into her characters and just brings them to life! I can’t wait for the streamily signing for this game!
Compared to the main companions, i found Ketheric's voice acting to be on the weak side, not enough gravitas. I guess that, as it is quite a small part, JK Simmons was not involved for very long in the process, preventing him from giving a great performance? maybe?
I hope the company will never get bought by one of the big ones. Larian reminds me on the good old times when Bioware and Blizzard North had a (gaming) soul. You barely see non-indie game devs that are not affraid to do things differently. I barely enjoy singleplayer games nowadays for more than a couple of hours. But damn was BG3 just a joy. Can't remember the last time i felt like a kid in a game and just want to discover stuff on my own. Do not really know what it was but the game catched me so hard on different ways and I really thank Larian for that experience.
i’ve been binge watching everything Balders Gate from streamers playing it to Behind the scenes stuff like this because it’s the closest i’ll be to playing the game and being sorrounded by it’s lore because i can’t really afford to buy a game that expensive. Life’s been hard right now not gonna lie :/ I hope you all are enjoying the game. It looks amazing
Pirate the game if you dont know how to then you can buy it download it then refund the game open it from install folder. Larian did not put any DRM on it because they are confident for its success.
the depth and complexity of the city of baldurs gate literally took my breath away... its the closest thing to a real city I have ever seen in any video game. ever. and the best part is the dev's weren't showboating about it either.. nothing MADE you look at it, but if you stopped and listened to some of the conversations of the people you could hear all sorts of things, some hillarious, some sad, some evil... was just great. absolutely LOVED walking around the city and just taking it in. best part of the game imo.
Great to watch this after having played the full game and seeing what an absolute massive triumph it turned out to be. They worked hard to make this game great, and it paid off.
Yeah when I heard Maggie say “to be paired with all stars JK Simmons and Jason Isaacs” I didn’t process Jason as being Lucius until I saw himself speaking… the cast for this game is crazy!
I‘m almost 600 hours in on pc. 6 Playthroughs. Just bought it on the ps5 again to play at my familys place. I still find new stuff and everything time i am in total aww and super excited. Still watch videos of playthroughs and decisions my heart couldnt take. Congratulations to Larian Studios for getting Game of the year. Its totally earned. Definitely my new favourite game.. maybe even ever.
@@oldladytrexarms "feel" has nothing to do with reality, if you want to feel then just say "you feel like it's the best game you played" just saying its best pc game means you are stating a fact therefore you must be corrected.
@@williambrabston3045 nah, top 10? maybe if they correct the bugs, include cut content and expand the game to make it complete, so in 10 we shall see how the definitive edition looks like, you all lose all logic because of hype lol.
Literally the greatest game ever made. Congratulations to all the development team the cast the writers the music my God the music fantastic job to everyone on the team!!!
Боже, голоса и интонации так красочно подобраны, что я не хочу никакой локализации) Ларианы сделали умопомрачительную работу с атмосферой и погружением) Красавчики)
Wizards saying it has to be true to dnd lore is so hypocritical when you see what they are doing nowadays. Thank god larian got the license back then wotc still acted like they care for their IP.
I’m sure it was on honor to perform with JK Simmons, but he was considerably weak for some reason. If the goal was “old man barely clinging to existence and minimal emotions.” It felt almost too monotone when it needn’t not be.
Baldurs gate the city has some work that needs to be done. Specifically interactions and dialogue, and I believe that in the future by the time they add these aspects and more side quests maybe on par with act 1 I think this game will be the best game ever created.
