a vampire spawn have every negativ effect of being a vampire, but not the manipulation powers and is in general more a dog to the vampire who made him, thers no benefit in being a vampire spawn. @@Rune_Goto
I love the idea that D&D Common is not the same as English, so the fact that we the viewers can read it doesn't necessarily mean Gale can; instead, it's some foreign language that he's doing his best with because he's not proficient in it, and everyone else just goes along with what he says because he's the only one studying it.
To be fair, story-wise custom MC doesnt really matter. It could be any one of the companions leading and nothing would change. Only Dark urge has special content made for them.
"the dark urge" is not a specific character and was not present during pre release, that said given the nature of wizards and Waterdavians is it really surprising he would assume leadership? Unlike Shadowheart he knows he is hand picked by a deity, and Lazel is not present (the obvious leadership choice until Jahera shows up). Karlack is too relaxed, Shadowheart is conflicted, and Astarion is easily distracted by shiny objects, so yeah Gale.
i think larian had some player data that listed Gale as the most played companion as the "main character" for those not going for a custom or dark urge
Something tells me you haven't seen the speedruns that beat the whole game in like 3-4mins, friend 👀 (But it also took me 60-70hrs just to get to the city myself haha)
@@tired3444 Ah that's why I don't know it. I grew up dirt poor and never had internet until my adult years so I missed like 95% of early internet culture. lol
Newest headcanon that lives rentfree now; Durge knitting for their teammates comfy sweaters and like with dark things written on it like „RIP & TEAR“, „CRUSH SKULL“, „GENOCIDE“ and „MURDER RUSH“. If asked, the answer will be that „I fight the killing urge creatively. How‘s the sweater btw? Comfy?“
@@Scream_Lord *ya mean ‚quiet‘, right? (Sorry for being a grammar nerd 😅 habitual, pls spare me) Btw; where did you get that profile pic? it’s hilarious 😂
D.Urge just brooding: "Sceleritas Fel really should be doing this knitting. This is his job. I am going to knit a formal complaint to my father and file it through HR..."
Yup, can confirm, knitting is great way to control urges and reach zen. But if Tav is gonna gift this scarf to someone, it will raise some... questions upon close inspection 😂
@aeonredgrave3752 Tav is a Canon name, they just aren't the Durge. Durge is a separate character from Tav just like how Shadowheart is a separate character from Tav. They just happen to be the 2 customizable protagonists but they do have some Canon parts about what the "default" for them would be without the players interference
For a while I thought, "Wow! Whoever they got to be the characters sound a LOT like the voice actors for the game!" Then I realized it was made by Larian Studios... This was fantastic.
Larian Studios, please never change from being the fun and goofy studio that just loves to produce product and content for the fans that truly love what you do.
@@SoVega301 In my own opinion. I think there is no such thing as wokeness in this game, and I hate when something is woke. Think more about, options and choice, you can reject M&M and F&F. You grow to love these characters, even Astarion (the typical gay friend of the group). But don't let that narrative to stop you from playing this game, I hate old RPG style games, but this one hooked me all the way to the point that turn base combat didn't matter to me.
Gale being bad at reading despite being a book nerd and Astarion's screams were my favourite things about this (along with the sonic cameo in the background) Very entertaining and impressive work!
I’d like to think that the English language is super foreign and isn’t known in the bg3 universe, and that even gale, a scholar, can only put letters together because he’s likely studied it considering no one else pointed out what it said.
BG3 is like a rare moment, when everything "clicked". In particular, actors did a stellar job, bringing everything to life. Well done, everyone involved!
Well it had better lol, we've had quite a horrible past couple of years before this game, I think humanity deserves a bit of a treat now and then to make life worth it again.
Larian all this is perfect don’t change a thing please. The goofy stuff, the quality of the game, the proximity with the fans. Please stay like this forever.
@@ThwipThwipBoom If we express what we love and boycott what we hate we should have what we want. So I’m expressing the fact that I love Larian studios
Ohmygod, animated Astarion is to small and precious, he's even smaller than Shadowheart. 😁 I mean, he's only of medium height in-game (I think officiall 1,75m or something?), so for an elf he probably considers himself tall, but... yeah. Here he's this tiny hyperactive gremlin. 🤗
The Badger Badger ref, The party of 4 dressed as Sonic Characters, The petrified victim being used a clothing display. So many neat little background details. Of course, references aside, it's just a charming little short in general and the animation is really appealing. Love this.
"Working with us" i suppose larian had a little say in how they wanted it, wouldnt be the first time this happens in a collab and knowing how passionate larian is about their game i wouldnt think it too far fetched@@smilinglemon6291
@@smilinglemon6291of course larian did not made it themselves, but they surely did the script and the flow and the original idea. gdamn you should be fun at parties
Same id actually get Netflix just to watch an animated series of bg3 with the original VA's lol I picture dnd with the vibes of the Harley Quinn show on HBO (which I adore)
I think it says something special about Larian that most companies are like 'oh no we couldn't possibly get a voice actor back for that" but the VA's for BG3 are all so excited and happy to keep producing more content for these characters ♥
@@RaptieFeathers yeah! They already did that for Karlach; because loads of people were disappointed with her endings, they just wrote, made and voiced a new ending for her. At no extra cost to the player… they really are the best.
they got the actual voice actors too. we need a mini animated web series on RU-vid with this consistent quality now. It's a safe style of animation type but a good one.
I swear the advertising for this game is just next level. They started with The Bear to get everyone's attention and now we have this adorable well made cartoon with a bunch of the VA's. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
I only saw the intro cutscene a while back, and then the cartoon in this style is what let me know that it was finished! It was the one about the frog. Loved It
Just completed my first play through, I'm 59 years old been playing video games since the 70s and have never felt so emotional finishing a game.an absolute triumph, well done all at larian and looking forward the the dlc
Astarion being so exited because this the first time he's seen his reflection in 200 years. He may have not even known he was hot as a vampire, and everytime he flirts he's just hoping no one would correct him.
@@bunniewood absolutely! They’ve stayed true to themselves, getting better and better over the years, until the quality of their work forced it into more mainstream success. The real deal indeed. 🙂
Love it we need an actual series made like this. I will pay any money, don't give this to Netflix tho. Edit 1: To all who are getting mad at me for not wanting Netflix near BG3 ---> THEY ALREADY F'D UP THE WITCHER AND I AM NOT LETTING THEM NEAR THIS PERFECTION EVEN IF YALL CALL ME SNOWFLAKE, BIGOT, RACIST, HOMOPHOBE ETC.
i've had baldur's gate 3 for less than a week and nothing will deter me from loving how chaotic and hilarious it actually is. this animated short portrays it beautifully
Astarion screaming is hilarious! 🤣 The QA dragon really got me laughing though. Especially after watching the interview with the CEO on how they were able to do rapid fire releases and updates.
this game is amazing and no microtransactions. Thank you Larian Studios for giving us this Diamond of a Game in a time when games are coming out in broken states this game is leaps and bounds above it competitors. This game deserved GOTY and I can't wait to see what else you this amazing studios comes up with with the love and attention it deserves. From voice acting to options and hidden interactions this game is hands down one the best games I've bought in years and I'm 35 so I grew up with Nintendo and words can't describe my love for this game. Even as an Adult game it is I still think they set a new standard for quality games and I thank you for it.
Heya! as someone who works as Senior QA tester on a Video Game developing studio, I just wanted to say that the Dragon QA gave me a hearty laugh, you guys are awesome.
they sell broken ass games at launch like everyone else. This is last time buy any shit from larian. They pulled same stunt with divinity original sin 2. Stop being a shill.
@@romanabanin2216 I played so much early access I never even toggled her helmet off to acknowledge her new haircut in dialogue on release, was more interested in Act2 content. When she was like "I cut my hair to better represent Shar" I was like _oh cool let me see that_ **Takes off her helmet to see the same haircut I have always seen over two years** I thought the game glitched.
Been playing for a week and not even close. I tried to get to baldur's gate too early and apparently that was a mistake (not going to spoil what happened, but I never made it to baldur's gate)
currently looking for the way in... My playtime is closing in on the 100 hours, but to be fair it´s my 4th solo character that I actually decided to play further than the beginning of the Underdark :D
@@RSProduxx the characters get MUCH more fun and powerful after you get past the starting act, you should stick with your current character and see where it goes. You won't find the entrance to Baldur's gate in the first Act
Thank you for giving us such a beautiful, wonderful game. I was having a hard time emotionally, mentally, and physically after being discharged from the hospital but BG3 helped me feel great. Seriously, thank you very much.
This gives me a OG teen titans vibes and im all for it! I need more! Karlach is like starfire, astarion is like beast boy, gale is like robin, and shadowheart is basically raven. I cant be the only one seeing this right?
NGL I wouldn’t mind watching a full animated series with these characters and this art style of given a budget to make it happen. This must’ve been a blast to work on.
Bro, how have I not seen anyone talking about the Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy when Astarion is showing off Baldur's Gate? That caught me off guard so hard, but I love it so much, I love all the little easter eggs they've been putting into these shorts.
I dont know who else did this too, but once they got to Baldur's Gate I paused like a million times at basically seeing everyone's OC and Tav and figuring out their class and jazz-I freaking love this!
0:49 is the absolute best line (also the only unrealistic part is that karlach's mind only though of that after the first two, should have been first thing she thought of)
This makes me want a full Critcal Role-esque series with the VA's just playing their characters in existing campaigns like Curse of Strahd. 😂😭 The character work is so good I don't wanna see them go after BG3...
I first thought this was a fan animation and when I heard the voice acting, I thought... hey these actors are ON POINT. And then i found out it was uploaded by Larian Studions themselves.
