In good times or bad, Bengaluru loves its biryani and the one biryani that is perhaps most favoured here is the Andhra biryani. A biryani that’s nuanced in its depth of flavour and finds its roots in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. In this episode of Gourmet On The Road, I catch the making of this traditional biryani from start to finish at the newest outpost of Bengaluru’s largest chain of Andhra restaurants, Nandhana Palace. In doing so, I chat with second generation owner, Shweta Ravi, and learn of her family’s commitment to culinary traditions over three decades, and also savour the many creations of the kitchens here that are now synonymous with Andhra cuisine. Made of drumstick marrow and leaves, this is a soup that’s warming and rich in nutrients.

The chicken is coated in a sauce of naati (local) green chillies that packs a ferocious, palate-numbing punch. If Food Lovers TV would have been on TV, I'm sure Kripal Sir would be one of the top hosts/anchors in this genre. As of these times, Digital is the way to go.... bamboo chicken is originated from a place called 'ARAKU' . Its basically called bongulo chicken ..bongu means bamboo lo means inside that means chicken inside bamboo

Hi Kripal ji, Try to cover Navayuga Restaurant at Mejastic, Bengaluru. Biryani and Chilli chicken are famous there for the past 40 to 45 years. I haven't seen or tasted such a Chilli chicken any where else. Regard, Ravi.

Hi Kripal I honestly suggest you to visit Nellore once things normalise Please visit Murali Krishna Restaurants (both Veg and Non veg) Amravati (Bomidayala Chapala Pulusu) Riyaz (pot biryani) Reshma (pot biryani) Gopi Ghee Dosa Mayuri Egg Dosa opposite to Minerva Grand Samosa near jai Bharath hospital And lastly for deserts Try picnic ice cream And must try would be Malai khaja from jai hind sweets or murli krishna sweets It's a humble request to visit Nellore I bet you will fall in love with our food Believe I sometimes travel to Nellore (my native) from Bengaluru just for food

Looks great restaurant. Bengaluru is United Colors of India. where you will find all south indian restaurants and all types of varities...!!! Really awesome place to see... Definitely i recommend Nandana Palace to my family and friend by seeing their safety and hygienic conditions.

It looks very good. Looking very hygiene. Proprietor taking care of preparation. Kitchen is very neet. Restaurant ambiance is nice. I never tried Carrot 65. I need to try.

Born and brought up in Nellore but never saw or heard adding pineapple in biryani. It's pure marketing in the name of Nellore. Hope it will taste good

In Bangalore best meals to have in Nandahana they serve quality Good Good quality and nNagarujun hotel also best meals and spicy nonveg dishes if any one visiting Bangalore best hotel to have all over they Bangalore available it's not so easy to give same taste food for long time past from so many years they serve for customers
