Thanks for the video, I've been using the 36v one for nearly 2 years installing signs. Rubble can be an issue however, this is common to all post-hole drills of this size including petrol powered ones. I have better results now than when I first started using it by regulating the speed and pressure when drilling. Battery life depends on how friendly the soil is tho it does surprise me how good it is at times. Having good (sharp) teeth on the auger is important and you can also use the TradeTools brand augers too (bit cheaper but still good). The anti kickback bar works very well in forward - but, if the auger jams in the hole and you select reverse, it can wack your leg with the body of the drill if it's still jammed (have the bruises to prove it). Cheers.

Thanks for the fantastic feedback. After spending some time on it now, you’ve made a very accurate assessment 👍

Just bought one of the 36v Augers (as I've already got loads of 18v tools/batteries), based on this video/review, and it works a treat. I'm using it mainly in ground that's a mix of topsoil, clay and a little bit of stone (mainly 40-50mm chunks), and no issues so far, but I've only used it for about 20 holes so far for fence posts. I've been using 100mm and 200mm twin blade auger bits, although I initially had to use a single blade auger bit (because the auger bits got lost by the carrier), and the twin blade/spiral ones are so much better.

Bro. Thanks heaps for the info. Glad I could help you make a decision in getting this and that it’s serving you well. I’d love another update on what you think in 6months or so. 👍

@@naileditfencing in the 5-6 months I’ve had this, I’ve used it for quite a few fencing projects on mine and friends/families land. It’s been great to use, and I’ve only had issues when using it on two types of ground. Ground that has large stones/rocks in it, as obviously it won’t move/go through those, and also ground that is thick clay the 200mm auger bit struggles so need to make pilot holes with the 100mm and then go back using the 200mm bit. The holes I’ve been drilling are about 600mm (2 feet) deep, for use with 75-100mm square fence posts, which were then concreted. It works better in dry soil, but drills holes in wet soil quite well too. The best bit of advice I’d give would be to try and use the twin blade auger bits, they make life so much easier compared to to the single blade ones. Overall I’m still very pleased with it, and have a few projects to do in the spring time (maybe sooner depending on weather) and this tool will save me a lot of time. For me, it’s paid for itself already, as saved me time having to manually dig holes with a post hole digger.

I’ve got the brand new stihl bt 131 and it’s beautiful, it’s got a safety gear on it that will click out of gear if you hit massive concrete, but being in qld mate in Brisbane this tool I have is amazing 🙌

Brilliant mate. That’s a bit more machine than I need. This Makita isn’t a petrol auger replacement. More of an alternative 👍

Good video, looks a little under powered to me, but was interesting to see it in action. I currently use the Stihl BT131 petrol Auger which is great if you have some virgin soil, not so good with rocks and roots. Thanks for the video !

Thanks mate. Let’s be clear. This is by no means a petrol auger replacement. But another option on the market. 👍

Good soil theses work. Anything other the 27lb Makita hammers and a good pair of post hole diggers.

Hey Mate Great information and the best bits are the ones where you hit rocks and rubbles and how the tool reacts. Most videos don’t show this. I use ryobi auger pretty often and when it kicks back it’s bad. I find it better than stihl auger break system but this seems great.

Купил себе такой оборудования, мне очень нравиться, теперь мне нужно найти копёр для забивания труб, не знаю что лучше, бензиновый или гидравлический, когда будет набор из этих инструментов, я думаю будет довольно легко устанавливать заботы

@@leoencoumans1707 Unfortunately not. It was on an associated site, although if you measure it by 200 kW plus the 1400 RPM gives you around the same torque witch is 136.41 Nm roughly. Nevertheless this machine from my point of view is only good for "light" gardening, and the batteries are just there for comfort+noise cancelling anyway.

Well. Technically Makita recommends using the 150mm auger in clay. I used the 200mm. It has speed control. I’m just not use to it yet. I’m getting better though. Today I used it much slower and it worked better. 👍
