Been framing entire houses with two or more guns running all day so far so good.

I just ordered this. Honestly I haven't found anything better for the money. 6.5 cfm @ 90 PSI, for the price it is was, was astounding to me. I like your auxiliary tank add on and I am definitely going to do that too so I'm not running the motor on a constant basis. This will be perfect for my amateur impact gun work in the garage.

2nd. vid shows detriment of too much volume vs. 50% run cycle / motor design perameters. Over taxed capacitors are sacrificed and a major teardown to replace. 5.2gal. + 10gal. is probably the safest route OR 5.2gal. + 20gal. WITH strict vigulance to run cycle.

I love that litte air compressor not sure if its a Censor or not or how to test them to know if one is bad

TURN YOUR REGULATOR OUTPUT PRESSURE DOWN- TO 90 PSI FOR ALL YOUR AIR TOOLS. YOURS IS SET TO THE MAX IN THE DEMO-
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 4 года назад
Will do. Am using inline regulators from quick disconnects on unit set at 90psi while using on projects. Fried those capacitors again when little Speedaire couldn't keep up. Have a new Tube vid on single car garage and attic 5hp. compressor I just completed. Hard headed Scot-German.

Be very careful!!! I had a hose break, and by the time I noticed I overheated the compressor and cooked the capacitors. The capacitors seem to cost almost as much as a new compressor. Still looking

Yep. The run capacitor was $90+ from Taiwan. The start capacitor was much more reasonable and available.

@@Bro_DoItYourself Hey there. I just ordered the 2 capacitors. The company is called Parts Warehouse 866 243 2721 Total $128.00 With shipping In case you need another resource. I'm willing to take the chance for that price. Otherwise I would have to go with a new compressor. Thanks again

@Ernest Vocell PW didn't carry the Run Capacitors when I was searching but carried the Start Capacitor for aprox. $50 ea. Got the Run Capacitors from Taiwan for aprox. $90 ea. and 2-3 weeks shipping time. Glad you found a source and thanx for the info. I purchased extras but have to change out again after tearing out the front end of my old Escalade and roasted the capacitors, again. This compressor is made for light duty like framing nailers and plasma cutters NOT hard core impact, scaler/die grinding. Will use just for plasma, etc. after this replacement. Ran a 240v service line from panel to garage for big compressor in garage attic. Good luck!

Can you help me out? I’ve searched information on the Mac5200 which I have. My problem is it won’t build tank pressure. First thing I did was remove the big copper line that connects to the 3 way valve under the tank it it was exhausting air from the tube. I removed the cylinder head and valve cover and checked the reeds. They were just 2 pieces of rectangular pieces of steel and checked the piston rings. Everything looked good and I put it all back together. I fired it up without the copper exhaust tube connected to the exhaust side of the cylinder and there is a strong flow of air being pushed right out of the cylinder exhaust port. I reconnected everything and the tank pressure builds up to maybe 25 lbs and no more. I don’t feel or hear and air leaks. Is there anything else I can check? You seem to know a lot about this compressor.

I just ran across your video after my 5200 stopped running. It turned out that the overload switch tripped. While watching I noticed the air dryer you added to your compressor. Wondering if you can post or send a good picture of your setup. I want to upgrade my compressor. I am going to add the 10 gal Husky tank as well. Just the one for when I am doing trim work.
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 2 года назад
I wanna tell ya that the added dryer is not going to work in the place of a condenser. The dryer should be attached to the outlet on the tank as the condensation builds up THERE as the air cools from the hot compression. My other video on installing a compressor in my garage attic shows the correct sequence of assembly. I suppose you could go all out and attach a 16 pass auto oil cooler in the place of the dryer in my MAC5200 vid. That would work but ya'd have to cage it to protect.

you still like the set up with aux 20 gal tank? thinking about this for plasma cutting in my shop (not a cnc table, just a cutter)
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 6 лет назад
Re Silc yep. Found that with 2-20gal. and 1-10gal. addition that the cycle time needs to be strickty observed. The induction motor is not built to handle long run times. The capacitors overload easily so limit to 1 to 2 minute runs snd allow for long cool down times.

Do you have to change out that whole 2ft of line to chnage the fitting from 1/4 to 3/8?
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 6 лет назад
I did for the mere convienance of the stainless steel LP flex line NOTE: The augmented flow rate may contribute to capacitors design limits peramiters. Focus on duty cycle is paramount.

can you use this MAKITA compressor for hvlp gravity feed spray gun to paint the entire passenger car?

I wouldn't think so but maybe. Would have to dry that air, of course. May work but would not use professionally.

I'm looking for a air compressor to handle a roofing gun or a framing gun and I was looking at this or the DeWalt 4 1/2 gallon d55146 have you been happy with the Makita and how well do you believe it will run a framing or a roofing gun
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 5 лет назад
Both the Makita and DeWalt are made for for these tasks but if I were you, I would probably go for the 100% duty cycle Rolair VT25BIG. A couple of bucks more with no burn out worries.
@eddiekytia
@eddiekytia 5 лет назад
@@Bro_DoItYourself its crazy you mentioned the rolair vt25big because I just came across that compressor and it seems to make sense being 100% duty cycle do you have any experience with rolair or know anybody that does. Curious why you mentioned that particular company and model
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 5 лет назад
@@eddiekytia Research. I got mine for $300.00 and have a stationary 50gal, 230v unit. Am constructing a portable generator enclosure for 50amp service for plazma, MIG/MMA and will use the 110v MAC5200 for air. Am always checking tools, being a jet engine mechanic. If I were making a living using a portable compressor, I would probably go with Rolair but all of the top name brands are worthy. 100% duty cycle is the saliant point.

I truly thank you for responding! I dont know much about air compressors but i now need 1 to run 1or 2 roofing guns or 1 or 2 framers and to go spend 300 to 500 bucks on one.....yea i been looking for opinions but its been hard to get any. I was looking at the rolair 25big because of the 100% duty cycle ( not that I really understood that much about duty cycle) but I was told it means the compressor can safely keep running Non-Stop. I don't know how much psi it will put out while running on just motor but at least it's made to run like that. I really thank you again for your opinion and I'm pretty sure the vt25big rolair will be my compressor. Best of luck with the rest of your endeavors

High flow tools will def. tax that motor. Am using this setup more every time I work. Note: I flushed the motor X3 w/supplied oil, coffee filtered that oil and broke the motor in w/that oil then changed THAT oil with Husky synthetic air compressor oil. Keep an eyeball on that oil as running these high flow tools will tax this unit.
@Dcook85
@Dcook85 6 лет назад
Yeah I definitely do not want to be running this thing non stop, it's only rated for %50 duty cycle anyways, which is why I wanted the added air tank. How quickly does your MAC5200 fill your entire system from zero with those auxiliary tanks added?
@Bro_DoItYourself
@Bro_DoItYourself 6 лет назад
Tregeta 1 min. on 5.2gal. from zero to 140lbs. Aprox. 3 min. w/10gal. from zero to 140lbs. Aprox. 7+min. w/20gal. 10gal. & 5.2gal. but regulator needs to be adjusted to full pressure to achieve highest tank pressure possible. I let it breathe about 2min. 3x from zero to full on the 3 tanks but just guage load while using high flow after initial charge as w/an air nozzle or needle descaler. MAC5200 is cofigd for nailers and the like. Like a Paslode, little puffs. I would hope with oil changes and common sense the thing will last for years oppose to the oil free, quiet motors.

B Ross. Awesome thank you so much for the information it's almost impossible to find it on the internet when you're looking at specific things like this. I only plan to use a half inch impact wrench as my most demanding tool and work my way down from there. I will add a 20 gallon tank and that should be plenty to do what I need it to do until I save up the money for a big boy later on
@Bro_DoItYourself

Tregeta np I think as a last detail I'll add a quick disconnect regulator config. to the tank line that my 90psi tools will use as to not damage hammers, etc.! Good luck!
