Chinese here. We want Indians to use Indian Ruppee to trade with Chinese too. We strongly believe that currency should be the trading token, NOT a financial speculation and controlling mechanism. I really hope Indians stop spreading Non-Truth about China and actually look into hard facts about China. And work with Chian for a better tomorrow. China is for prosperity and progress. US is for destruction and control. China and other nations have established currency swap agreement. Here is how currency swap works. Each year, country A and B set aside X amount of money from each other's currency at the market value of those currencies. Within that year, the money are used as the bilaterally trade token. At the end of the fiscal year, both countries will either renew the currency swap agreement with a new amount, or convert the remaining amount back to each other's country based on the exchange rate at the beginning of the year. There is no currency speculation and each nation has the right to increase or decrease the amount of trading tokens, or simply stop the trading tokens without any loss. This is what China has been negotiating with countries like Russia, Saudi, Brazile and many others. I am looking forward to the day when China and India can do the same.

Even if you hate China, its growth is positive for many countries, even inside US allies. Even if you don't use cheap Chinese products, the fact that they exist drive down the cost of all other products. Developing nations can look to China for better deals on loans, rather than the US backed IMF having a sway monopoly on loans.

Good luck to any country using yuan as reserve currency. US dollar isn’t doing great job, but if people think moving to a currency that is most manipulated is the answer …. then those people have no idea about what it takes to be a global reserve currency.

China never wanted to play the role of reserve currency or the world police or exporting its own version of governance. Lately many countries are diverting their trading currency away from the dollar and into bi or multiple currencies. The US weaponising the dollar against the Russia has sent chills into the spines of many countries and many are now having a second thought on the risks of holding all their trading currencies in dollar. It is to soon to talk about the dethroning of the dollar. But the momentum to do so is surely expediting.

USD is backed by military intimidation, not commodities. If one falls, the other one falls too. In 2022 they gave permission to Russia to dedollarize, by kicking it away from USD/euro and western banks. That cracked USD. And as using USD becomes a mechanism to import crisis, more nations feel less intimidated and more willing to dedollarize. Since USD is backed by military intimidation, what you can expect by design to compensate, is military escalation.

As a Malaysian n an Asian I m happy we can determine our own fates n not be dictated to by countries n agencies that do not consider our best interests. Our time has come.

Anwar intended to exact revenge on US currency. Anwar lost his position as deputy premier as a result of Malaysia's internal political unrest in 1997 as a result of the Asia Financial Crisis caused by America, and he ultimately ended up in jail. Since then, he has endured suffering for over 20 years. Anwar won't allow comparable issues to be brought about by American currency in Malaysia ever again.

No country wants their country under any foreign currency. All countries want is their currency. The only solution is maintaining a balance. Or a common currency that's not backed by single country but by a set of system that gives a fair chance.

As an American I can't wait for the world to no longer use the USD for currencies purchases. That way we can become isolationist like we were in the 1930s and never have to help another country outside of treaties.

For the.past 5 centuries we had 5 reserve currencies. Just about 100 years for each one. Spain , Netherlands, French, British now the U.S. dollar. The US Dollars have been too highly regarded for too long. To be fair, the currencies of the individual countries should be the ones used for bilateral trades. It is now time for the world to ditch the US Dollars and return to the rightful practice of using the individual currencies.

As fellow Malaysian here I totally agree with mr.anwar on foreign policy of our country we cannot just depend American dollar as only trade currency in international trade. So I think what Anwar done is so brilliant even though I disagree with him on internal policy but for first time ever Anwar Ibrahim made me agree with this kind of solution. If he can solve the inflation problem in our country then I will support him.

USA is the first largest economy so dollar has been dominant China is the 2nd largest economy in the world hence pushing for yuan as reserve currency India is the fifth largest economy and steadily moving towards 3rd position so can push ruppes as the third reserve currency.

The Chinese Yuan will not be an international currency to replace US dollar now. Yuan is not tradable in international market but is used as domestic currency in China only. The issuance of Yuan is not transparent, so is currency exchange within China. If a country accept Yuan in exchange of product eg petroleum, the Yuan it receive will only be used to buy products or services from China only. This is because a third country will not accept Yuan as currency for payment of products and services.

I don't know what Asian country is most poor, they should do all trades in their currency.. The currency would not be used as a "weapon" or leverage and it would help the most poor country.. I am not ecoonmist and don't know if that is possible, but it sound fair and more safe.

The Yuan doesn't in any way threaten the US dollar. I think the Yuan will serve as an alternative to the US dollar. It will resolve some of the complexity in trading.

Yuan is not dethroning US dollar. Countries are using their own currency instead of US dollar. For example, India pays Yuan when import Chinese goods. In return China pays Indian Rupee when China buys from India. Shortfalls will use US dollars.

It will be another currency than the Yuan. Please report on common sense. No country will risk using a currency fully controlled by an authoritarian government. It's bad business and dangerous incompetence. They will trade with China in Yuan but they will use the dollar or another currency for reserves and trade elsewhere. So please stop the sensationalizing of the Yuan. Countries are pragmatic on this issue.

BRICS currency will happen but more slowly and cautiously. The first steps right now is to trade in their own country currencies among BRICS nations. Brazil, Russia, India and China have already started trading in their own currencies recently on a limited basis. It will then slowly move to new BRICS currency/basket of currencies back by tangible assets like Gold, Oil etc. It's happening. Dollar won't go away anytime soon, but the overwhelming dominance it has in the world financial system will not be there in the future. Remember the shift can take decades, so let's all be patient. 😀
