Anyone thinking Malcador is nice or not ruthless hasn't read enough lol. My favourite example is when he created a eldar/human clone to bear his confessions. He had to keep cloning it because it kept killing itself after hearing Malcador’s secrets.

People are missing the point. I wasn't saying he was scary because of the clones suffering. The clones got it easy in comparison. I mean that the horrific and evil acts Malcador has done for the sake of the Imperium are SO BAD, that merely speaking about them is enough to break a person's sanity.

I like how GW used the primarchs to show that all of the emperor's powers are all obtainable by humans. He isn't a crazy messiah, he's just the best human. Vulkan is a perpetual, Sangy boi and Curze could see the future, Magnus was a crazy powerful psycher, etc etc. Similarly, I think Malcador just happened to be a perpetual and also a psycher, and he lived long enough to grow powerful. The Emperor can have the Shaman story, but I think Malcador being a normal human in a world full of superhumans makes him a really cool character.

@@SpaghettiToaster well the problem is it’s hard to create something that’s smarter than the human being making the character. Most of the issues with the Primarchs is because they are all more or less teenagers emotionally and they’re pissed at their dad for basically abandoning them for no reason whatsoever. The emperor himself is less excusable in my opinion, I think he’s just been constantly portrayed as a completely shit character with the depth of a puddle and as thoroughly unlikable.

From memory, the final chapter in the short story where Malcador force chokes Horus and the Khan later refers to him as Bram Al'Cador or such was titled 'Sensei'. If you know what that means in a 40k context that is a very cool nod to Mal being closer to the Emperor than has been mentioned in this video.

Malcador is probably part of the group of shamans who sacrificed themselves to reincarnate into the emperor. He must’ve been the only one who didn’t sacrifice himself. So when the emperor came around, he joined him. That’s why tampering with psychic abilities doesn’t stop him, he’s a real magician

I think the best thing about him, was that he was just some dude. Every other human on the grand stage is a superhuman capable of feats no mortal should be able to do. They can think,act, and plan much better then anyone else. Yet along comes some normal-ish human, who does way more then all of them.

It's not clear what happened to the lost legions, just that it was somehow worse than the Horus Heresy in some capacity as Malcador and possibly the Emperor too, helped mind wipe them from existence. Even Dorn confronted Malcador about and when the Sygilite acquiesced to the demand, whatever the Primarch saw was so bad that he begged Malcador to wipe his memory of it, only leaving him the with the knowledge that the truth was better left unknown/forgotten

Honestly listening to this made me realize that the Big E is just grim dark King Arthur. He united the lands of Tera, he assembled warriors that were equal to him, a family member tried to usurp him and ended up leaving him mortally wounded, and the whole star child pseudo prophecy that would allow the emperor to come back, and then Malcador is just straight up Merlin

Personal head cannon. Malcador is basically a normal human perpetual who was pretty strong to begin with. Over the millenia he grew insanely powerful and bitter. He grew to respect and love humanity while also recognizing it needed a far firmer hand to guide it. He would be the man on the moon who weaved everything in the imperium together and he is the one who was the only friend of a literal God like human with intelligent beyond measure and he was his equal. I enjoy the thought of the two of them being younger and knowing each other and then throughout the millenia that bond grew harder and stronger than every before. To where thier conversations did not even consist of words but nods and the message was delivered

Well Malcador never intended to cure or help Ravuel Arvida. He lied and just used him to create another psychic battery, and Khan nearly went on a rampage because of that. His scheming with the Emperor and keeping of the secrets about chaos led to the path that destroyed the thousand sons. - Fury of Magnus book, spoilers and crazy shits. Kind of dumb of him to not just give the final shard to Magnus when he literally just erased from existence countless demons across the battlefield during the siege of terra. Magnus literally hates the Chaos gods and plans to sit on the throne himself but kind of wants to rule and lead mankind after the war, like dude just have a compromise or pact with him or something.

To be fair, Magnus was already corrupted after Prospero Tzeentch and the other Chaos Gods would have used Magnus to destroy the Golden Throne Chaos Gods would have used Magnus as a teleporting beacon to summon Daemons and Traitors into the Palace The 2nd version of the Horus Heresy (time travel is involved here) is the BEST OUTCOME for the enemies of Chaos If Chaos really wanted to win the Heresy then Doombreed, Skulltaker, Changeling and the Blade of Antywr would have been summoned to aid Horus

Have you seen the Malcador tanks on Forge World? They're pretty sick. TBH all of the Imperial Guard FW stuff is gorgeous. Just wish GW would hurry up and update the Guardsman plastics, as I'm not picking up Guard again until they do that. We've seen what they can do with Gaunts Ghosts, various one off Catachan minis and also some plastic Krieg, so there's no way I'm buying them old Cadians now.

This has now convinced me the malcador classes are all blessed by the emperor, even when chaos captured when playing the asv warhammer mod for mowas2, it takes artillery strike abilitys, fuckin manticores and I kid you not, A FUCKING MINIATURE NUCLEAR BOMB To do any damage, when doing this on the baneblade? Dog... If Malcador could have recovered and instead gave his life for us so that the emperor could give some file instructions that would be some dope Canon. And also at least in my opinion a big mistake on Malcador's part. That should be tragic yellow. Great video!
