I have a theory that when Niko walks towards that bridge after the credits he takes his own life. Both endings leave Niko devastated and coming to a realization that everyone he’s near gets hurt. Also if you go on a Helicopter tour to that bridge the driver says that same bridge is famous for suicides. A very sad ending to such a good character but it explains why in gta 5 he never shows up at all when he would be an amazing person to pull heists off with.

27:11 When I heard Mallorie scream 10 years ago in 2013, I'll never forget that scream made the ten year old me feel my blood run cold. I made the deal ending thinking about trying to be nice and doing the right thing, and let bygone be bygones. I did not expect Roman to die of all people. The ending felt very depressing, being reflected through Niko's sad dialogue saying, "Roman never hurt anyone..." Unfortunately it was my first gameplay choice. I cried myself to sleep thinking about when the camera pans over to the statue of liberty, the rain.. the music, and depressive atmosphere. Painting a somber picture. Overall I was washed over with soo much regret and anger at my decision, telling that I should've taken revenge and that it was not the ending I wanted.That only came to mind when the credits rolled too, so I saved through the entire save slot, so it was already too late. Because I was too focused on trying to own up to my screw up in the 10 year old mind, I wanted to find out more, and was only invested in the game to kill Dimitri and avenge Roman. I was soo shook I stopped playing until I was in 7th Grade. *3 years goes by,* 2016, I came back to do the revenge ending after hearing about it on youtube. I already heard what happens on the ending through the comments, so there wasn't much satisfaction killing Dimitri and eventually Pegorino. And like the forums I read about the revenge choice, it nothing short of bittersweet, but there was closure that Roman was alive and Niko was not happy but glad for Roman. I was still effected from the first choice I made, still regretted it. It was only until now in 2023... I discovered the revenge ending was the canon ending, because of reading through youtube comments on consequences with choosing the gta 4 endings. So I feel better knowing it wasn't a speculation on the players choice to make it canon. Thank god...

No hate but I would’ve liked an ending where Mallorie died instead. It would’ve affected both Roman and Niko a lot, Roman probably even worse
