I did my housemanship in 2010-2012, pay was rm 3800++ I think, never reached 5k after the deduction of epf, tax. Unless you worked in Sabah/Sarawak then you would have gotten Elaun Perumahan Wilayah. House at that time was 300k plus but not in city area.

urm.. take home pay for new doctors around 4k only .lol that's why theres so much commotion when they wanna cut the pay because without the 750 ringgit,doctors will fall into the B40 category, taking home Rm 3800. and honestly.. after studying 5 years and spending a million or half a mil on studies, not sleeping for 36 hours, sacrificing weekends... RM3800 is quite little.

C sections are almost becoming "upsells" for private hospitals/practitioners by selling fear to their patients. Plus, C sections take less time for doctors to manage vs natural birth. C sections are now more common in the US but its not as common in commonwealth countries like Canada and Europe.

I wasn’t picky about dates when my two boys were born. The elder one was supposed to be delivered on the 15-September and my wife went into induced labour in the morning. But my boy ‘refused’ to comply and my wife was in great pain for over 10 hours. The vaginal opening did not reach that 10-cm yet. The obstetrician was getting ‘frustrated’ warning that surgery was out of the question and getting too dangerous. My wife opted for the epidural and had a forceps delivery. Thankfully my son was born 30 mins past midnight. And 16-Sep was 中秋节八月十五 ！16-September was the birthday of Lee Kuan Yew, my country’s former PM. Our second boy was due on 31-Dec. But my wife opted to deliver on 01-Jan. Thus our boys’ birthdays are on unique days and hard to forget.

I had epidural and slept through until the nurse woke me up telling me it's time to push.

C Section more popular in America too bc healthcare is an industry. C Section you can time them like flights whereas vignal delivery can very on time which make hospital also lose revenue.

Now that government stop controlling the prices in private hospital, medicine and service in private sector will increase. Now that government cut critical allowance for new HO doctor which comes down to Rm3700 (after EPF/ SOCSO). Imagine after 2 year of HO, you naik pangkat to MO with more working hours and responsibility, your pay is less then HO which is Rm3400 (after EPF/ SOCSO). How many of our doctor will still want to work for the government, how many young ppl will choose to work overseas which pay you triple of what you get in Malaysia? In the end of the day, guess who will suffer the most? Our rakyat of course. You sakit gigi wait 1 month la. You got heart problem no problem wait 1 year la. Our government rather upset few people, then upsetting the whole Malaysian by increasing the healthcare prices from Rm1 to at least Rm5. If the citizen of Malaysian don’t care about this problem, it will end up causing you all in the future. See if you rather pay private sector Rm1k or wait forever and pay government Rm1 with the risk of your health?

1st birth c-sec not necessarily 2nd birth must c-sec la.. my wife can testify this.. her 2nd birth we decided to do natural despite 1st one c-sec.. it is possible Dr.. 😄

not only doctors, engineer already kena kao kao years before.... Best engineer pay is graduate in 1990s or before. After that one before worse and worse.

Could you find an engineer and ask him how's his work life?

Children today ah don't really appreciate the hardwork of their parents. Do you know how difficult is it , to get those hard earned money to get you to be a doctor. For them it's OK. Because they are born smart.
