I love your testing DM. All the time and effort you put into making this hobby easier and better for us. There is one thing I have been thinking about for awhile now though. These esc reviews are great as they are. But I'm getting more and more interested in getting to know a little more about the components on them, mainly the specs of the mosfets. I know it's in the videos as it is. I just want to put more weight on it. It seems like you are starting to become a reviewer which the manufacturers really wants to get a good review from. I think of the tekko32 for example. After your first review of that esc it seems like the other brands just had to step up their game and give us better filtration and better components overall to even be considered a choice. I am absolutely confident that what you say about component choice will push the manufacturers in the direction which gets good reviews from you. Thanks for all your time and effort.

Really happy I bought both of the Mamba stacks now. Although I already knew they were good since it's all Diatone uses right now and Diatone quads perform well almost always. Their new GT-M540 is frickin awesome, a literal beast.

Im using 30x30mm version on 6S setup and it is perfect!! Only need change sbus to tx1 and modify scale to current sensor

Quite interesting stack you have. I see basically all required for basic racing/freestyle quad with SmartAudio controlled VTX. Current sensor on 4-in-1 ESC board without nothing sticking out for it - good. Low ESR capacitor is required, though it is nothing special. Those stiff wires (PVC insulation, yes) ir Ok while you keep cable intact without cutting. Also I see all needed for SBUS+SmartPort/IBUS/FPORT receiver connection. That TX3 with SmartAudio most likely already have separating capacitor on board - would be interesting to check how circuit really look. Seems is worth to check this out if I will decide to build something small and light for 3S again.

Hello DM, Could you do a build or just write down what I need to complete this particular build, the Mamba mini stack f405 20a with the 2306 2450kv motors, camera, vtx and 20x20mm frame. (What parts to use to build a basic one!) I'm pulling my hair out trying to put something together... I'm new at this sort of thing...thank you so much in advance...cheers!

Same stack that's on my 2.5 GT Titanium Diatone. ...and looks to be the same pinout on the FC board. I bought a new ibus flysky USAQ 8CH PPM 18ch IBUS MINI receiver for it. And thought the same thing you said. So I tried wiring it up off the back pads without success. Diatone already had it soldered up for sbus. So I hooked up to the sbus wiring they had in place. And went in to Betaflight and switched to I bus and it binded up. So go figure? But true story and still running it like that. I been watching your reviews on these stacks I highly appreciated all the testing you have done here. Made me go buy another 20x20 stack😁

After buying two of the stacks now. And having a third one in my Diatone 2.5...Sbus and Ibus wiring configuration is the same . Just change to Ibus in Betaflight and your set...FYI...Flysky guys. Thanks for testing the stacks bro!

hi there...i am a bit confused about the power connectors ( GND and VBAT) on the FC next to RX6......do i need to connect this to the battery ? if not what r these pads for and why does the paperbooklet connect it to XT30???is the FC not receiving power from the 8pin connectors connecting FC and ESC board?? thank u for any help on this...

Did you try with 4s lipo?? Because it says 2-3s in description.. I thought they use this on diatone quads that are 3-4s..??

I have the mini version on an IFlight Ih3 frame with a Runcam Split Mini 2 and Crossfire Nano. Works great but I really could do with another Uart for the camera controls. I tried softserial with the led strip pin but had no joy. Do you know if softserial is possible on this board?

Hi. I bought this stack to mount it on a slam nasty 2" frame. it fits perfect. However, the 3S battery I have seems very heavy for the drone to hover. I am frustrated, because it seems the Mamba only supports 4S batteries, but the higher the lipo, the heavier. Which battery do you recommend? Do you think there are small 4S batteries for nano drones? Thank you

Question regarding which type of smd ceramic capacitor is used on the esc? One fell off when assembling and didn't fit it properly (reversed I think) and need to order a smd assortment set, but don't know which type it is.

hi something weird it's happening to my mini stack. when i connect the camera to V1 and vtx to video out i don't have any video, if i bypass the FC camera working fine, i have BF4.1.3. i can't figure out why!?!?!

Looking good. Now I'm thinking about putting this stack in my superlite 5" running 2205 motors. It should be fine. The current one using Flycolor BLS-Pro 30A, weights a tad less than 300g dry. I want a lightaer one with 20mm stack and all micro components in it. Would be a fun build.

Awesome for a budget 20x20 stack. Might be a dumb question, but where did you install the low ESR cap; directly on the main battery pads of the ESC, or is there another set of pads it can be installed on like the VCC/Ground pads of the flight controller? Thanks for the great reviews!

Low ESR should be placed to the battery solder pads or directly to the female battery connector.

Bought it and I ripped out the sbus pad. Does anyone know if I can connect an sbus receiver in any other way? If not I will try to solder to the trace.

I am having a hard time figuring out the proper betaflight target for this stack - I cannot find it published anywhere. Someone said it was FuryF4OSD but when I downloaded the latest BF version my FC is acting weird, showing 1.6 v when connected to USB and it is very laggy going through the menus on Betaflight. Please help!!

1. Check your tune.. 2. Check your SMA connector if hitting the carbon. 3. Check if you have a broken mmcx or the solder is broken on your antenna connection. It might help if you upload your DVR footage.

@@DroneMesh I checked my quad and found the ground from the esc to the fc was crimped by the aluminium part of my frame. not sure if it will make any difference but I fixed it. then I update to Betaflight 4.0 and use stock PIDs. the throttle noise is almost gone now. thanks to you. sorry still didn't manage to get my hands on a dvr to show you the flight footage

Hello. It depends . First you need to decide which motors you wanna use and try to find its amp ratings for specific props. You shouldnt pass ESC s rated amps or you cannot use your motors %100. Second is the noise issue. Bigger motors possibly create more noise than small ones . Therefore the filtration on board might not be enough. Additional filtration might be needed.

You can't use ibus port for sbus On F4 ... If you have F7 then it would work.

That's not ESC Telemetry, the TELE pad is radio RX telemetry (SmartPort, F.Port, Bi-directional uart pad)

@@DroneMesh true. But when you're talking about ESC Telemetry you always say, "ESC" before the word, "Telemetry". Anyone referring to Telemetry on Anything else, is referring to the information that is Additionally passed between a radio TX and RX. Furthermore, ESC telemetry does not utilize (therefore need) a bi-directional uart pad. Which is what the TELE pad was originally designed to be capable of. 😉. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Are those pads as small as they look? seems like it would be hard to work on, and I think the moral of this story is that a cap should be used no matter what stack you use if this testing is the criteria you use to rate them, seems like that extra dollar for a cap goes a long way.
