@@richardfleischer4991 Stick to soccer, or shuffleboard. Hockey is too fast for you. The video footage available, as grainy as it is, is very, VERY obvious that there was nothing intentional.

That was not an accident that guy did it intentionally. You do not personally put your skate near anybodys face or other body parts. Those things are like razors . That guy has had sooo many violations he should have been banned from all sports, especially Hockey. He belongs in prison for life.
@@Milehighsnake98so you're saying he accidentally killed Adam knowing that he had a deadly weapon on the bottom of his boot? He was trying to stop Adam, and he used a deadly weapon to do it. You can't accidentally use a deadly weapon to stop someone.👈💯💯💯
@@Steve-3P0yes I'm 27 and have been playing since I was 10 the only people who throw kicks like this are azsholes that want to hurt someone I've never seen it done on accident
@@suntzu6122 You see, in hockey, sometimes it just happens. It wasn't a kick. But players' skates do end up that high off the ice quite frequently (at least once in every pro game). It's a miracle that cuts don't happen more often. The fact is, in pro hockey, players do get cut frequently. Most of the time however, it's minor. They get a cut on the nose, or cheek, or something. They go back, get a few stitches, change jersey, and come back 5 minutes later. Nobody notices those and it isn't remembered.
@@Brokenhill42 No, neck guards are typically made of a performance fabric with a layer of kevlar or some other cut resistant fabric in between. Most of your body is covered with pads, so even if you fall in front of a player, you are unlikely to get hurt. There are parts however, that aren't. The back of the leg above the skate tendon guard, back of the knee, parts of your forearms, and your neck, do not have any protection. There are cut resistant guards for basically all of those parts (except back of the knee).

That wouldn't be an accurate headline though. There was no murder. That's why there have been no charges. It was tragic and unfortunate, but it was a freak accident.
This was no accident. He did this with intent to harm and seriously injure. Just so happens the young man died. Instead of simply having a horrible scar. He should be jailed for this.
It was an accident, why not refer to it as what it was? Murder requires intent. There is none. Manslaughter requires intent to harm. This was such an obvious accident, that there is no evidence of intent to harm.

You must be new to hockey. "most unsportsmanlike conducts in the league". Maybe true, maybe isn't, but completely irrelevant, because in hockey, "unsportsmanlike Conduct" is defined as "engaging in any inappropriate or unwanted discussion with the referee, any behavior intended to incite an opponent into a penalty, or any other activity that would be considered disorderly." So basically flipping people off or yelling at the refs is unsportsmanlike conduct. Other actions: slamming your stick, slamming the door to the penalty box, punching the glass, etc. There is no protection, there was just no crime. He wasn't charged, so they can't legally say his name.
He should still be punished because he had no reason to put his straight up like that. He wanted to cause some type of harm if not death but the point is when he was hurt why wasn’t he laid on the floor on the ice with pressure on his neck The worst thing they could’ve done is keep standing him up and then walk him out literally made him walk out while his blood was flowing through his neck out his neck like a faucet that killed him that killed him right there he could’ve been saved
Also, that diverse individual that killed the other man did this intensionally. Ive seen hockey games live and on tv, and have never seen a player take another out with their feet. Then again, its gonna be labeled an "accident" because the black guy fits a certain polital talking point.
It is labeled an accident, because it was an accident. I've seen players get hit with skates quite often. Most don't result in so much as a cut. Occasionally they need a couple stitches. It has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with circumstance. I wish the team or someone would release the HD footage captured at the rink rather than this Nokia video of an old IBM laptop screen streaming in 240p over a 56.6k connection.

P---- PI--- PIT-- PITGRAVE --GR ---GRA ----GRAV -----GRAVE He may not have intended murder, but he lifted his skate 5 feet off the ice for no reason ...??? So his negligence killed a man. Criminal negligence causing death (section 220) the breach amounts to a wanton or reckless disregard for the lives and safety of others. a person died as a result. the act or omission constituting the breach of a legal duty caused the person's death.
In all honesty (I’m a ref in training) by all looks it does not look at all on purpose you can tell my the hit and the blade was thrown up due to the skater being unbalanced so you can’t really blame him but in nhl he would probably get a health fine at most
Not a chance if the players involved were swapped it would be considered an accident. And why are all news organizations not using images of the other player in thumbnails? And in the actual video shows a second of a photo…. Hmmm, very interesting

UK Law. They don't release the name of the person until they have been charged. He was arrested and released without charges within 24 hours. Standard procedure in the UK.

It’s not the first time it’s happened and there is no way anyone should be charged. It’s a violent sport with high risks and that was a clear freak accident.
No, this is not common and it was not an accident. Do you understand physics? Did he mean to murder him? Probably not. Did he mean to kick him or make contact with him? Absolutely.
This is only uncommon because the players do their best to keep their skates down. If they weren't so disciplined, this would not be a "freak accident" and would happen a lot more often, thankfully most players aren't like the one who's now being arrested.
