Yeah that's a shame. The guy dropped the ball. I can't believe this is titled "caught" And I can't believe it was thrown back to him. This whole story is pretty dang unsatisfying.
i know it would had been nice if the outfielder had given the ball to otani the mlb officials should of talk to everyone about it so they knew what to do
i think they just lost it happens as long as shohei gets that ball all good i doubt any mlb players would do shohei like that on purpose the whole is watching him when he steps on the field
Some places don't authenticate home run caught balls. They probably don't do that Because it's easier to convince the person that caught it to give the ball up if the player who hit the HR wants it.
Funny how the Dodgers stadium staff treated that man better than the woman who caught Ohtanis first homerun ball as a Dodger🤔 they must remember the backlash they got 😁
Yes, the Dodgers DEFINITELY!! learn their lesson from how they basically strong-armed Ohtani's first Dodgers homerun baseball away from the fan earlier this season. All that was missing on the Dodgers' part in going "Godfather" "Make them an offer they can't refuse," was that woman waking up and discovering a bloody severed horse head in bed with her.
@mr1stcat, they even said they don't want the ball. Don't believe that for a second. The real problem is, he didn't get it authenticated at the park. It will be difficult after the fact.
I think it would still be worth a lot because regardless of how far he goes in the season, the part about Ohtani being the fastest player to reach the 40/40 club won't change. This ball will always be from his 126th game in his first season as a Dodger.
@willchen2k, yes it will because he is the fastest to 40/40 in history. The real problem is, he didn't get it authenticated at the park. It will be difficult after the fact.
Japanese are fantastic baseball players, and Shiro Ohtani is no different. He is going to be one of the best baseball players to ever put on a dodger uniform.
@guslevy3506, 40/40 will be worth a lot. He is the quickest to that feat by far, in MLB history. The real problem is, he didn't get it authenticated at the park. It will be difficult after the fact.
@@kitsunedao3895 Basically for a high value homerun baseball the fan pretty much has to sell it because the Feds are going to want their money, based on the perceived value of the baseball, IMMEDIATELY!! Unless the fan has big buck to satisfy Uncle Sam, he wouldn't be able to keep the ball for himself.
@@carloshambrick2586 what country you live in? I bet everyone at that game knows the significance. They were probably hyping it up the entire game on screens. People don't just walk into a baseball game of this caliber with Ohtani and sold out tickets 😂
@matrix-fh9tn, nope. He was quickest by far to 40/40 in MLB history. Its worth a ton, especially to a Japanese buyer. The real problem is, he didn't get it authenticated at the park. It will be difficult after the fact.
Unfortunately it didn’t got authenticated By the time he left that stadium without authentication it was all over for him He should have stayed and never left the stadium unless they authenticated it I heard dodgers and ohtani refused to authenticate and sign it
That's crazy how this grown man spilled beer all over those kids and countless others. What an idiot. The one closest too him looks quite unhappy. The man should have been kicked out and banned for that alone.
The ball is worthless at this point because he left the stadium without authentication from the Dodgers. When the ball is not escorted to the facility for authentication at that moment, it becomes worthless."
