"Some weeks everything you touch turns to gold some weeks you better off not leaving the bed" need an episode of Rabbits words of wisdom with all his sayings and brief explanations
People don’t understand the cost of doing business. What about your heath insurance being taxed vs your employees? What about the unemployment tax you pay but never qualify for? What about your K-1 that flows through your personal taxes? Business license, insurance, etc? Make your money Rabbit. Haters gonna hate.
When being self employed you pay double the social security and Medicare since half is covered by the employer and the other half by the employee. Once your self employed your both. That’s 15.3% tax right there on your income.
I watch people go to yard sales all the time & get steals on little items that the seller has no idea what it's worth.99% of humans will lay down that dollar & keep it shut. Rob has done the same w/ old people & caught flack for it. It's business, many times he looses too.
When someone tries to get you to change the paperwork to avoid taxes you say "Are you asking me to commit fraud so you can save money?" Cause that is exactly what it is.
I was a dealer for 25 years. I never played games with paperwork that would put a mark against my license. I also used to get people who would show me what great buys they got on a truck or car out of the paper or what not. I would tell the " if they want to impress me to do it 20 or 30 time a month and then get back to me".
I'm a licensed dealer in pa and nothing pisses me off more than curb stoners trying to beat the system they couldn't even compete if they had to pay the license insurance and bonds but they think they are better than guys that are the real big boys glad to see there are some of us left doing what needs done love ur vids too rabbit
I am 66 and retired, spent most of my adult life in some type of Sales, If i sold everything a buyer said he wanted and would be back for, could of retired a long time ago, You Nailed it " Buyers are Liar's "
It’s not just in sales, I’ve had upper management say to me “hey we can’t promote you BUT we want you to train the ones above you getting paid more than you what you know and how to do it,,” yeaaaaa rite😂 Really enjoy your stories and content, Thanks for sharing Rabbit !
Man Rabbit you speak truth. I have my own detailing business and specialize in high end paint correction and coatings etc. I get people who want me to teach them my skills via messages or people whom ask a million questions and it never goes anywhere. I can tell right away who's serious and who's not. Just like you stated. Generally it's the ones who ask a few simple questions are the easiest to deal with because they know what they want.
People that ask a million questions will not pull $1 out of their pocket. They’re pretenders not buyers. 95 % of the cars I have sold, the buyer asked less than 5 questions.
Rob,, In 1991 I worked at the Ford Dealer in Athens, Ga. My 1st sales job in the car business. I was the 1st in Athens to have a PC on my desk to keep track of customer requests.. I kept track of my customers and sold lots of autos. The cry babies accused me of cheating because I was at the top of the sales board every month.. LOL !! They were too stupid to figure it out.. Some assholes tried to sabotage my PC when I had a rare day off. Little did they know I had a backup program running !! LOL !! Joke was on them .. I wore their asses out in sales !! FYI, I did graduate Computer Science at UGA in 1986.. So i did have a clue how to do it.. LOL !!
As a chef you have no idea how many times I get asked for recipes on how to make shit constantly. Also what's your favorite dish or style of cooking to do.
Thanks Rabbit, for reminding me of why I don't wanna get back in the car business... The B backs, the people that want you to drop your price because somehow it's your fault that they live two or three hours away... I remember I had a Cadillac that I drove personally for about 2 years and my father drove it for about 6 months and it had what I believe a slight head gasket leak (hard to believe it now but this was about 30 some-odd years ago and the car had a 425 in it) I had a gentleman come up and inquire about the car and I explained to the gentleman that the car had possibly a small head gasket leak as you can smell a little sweetness in the exhaust and from time-to-time you might have put a cup or two of coolant in the overflow. We inked a deal and I really thought I was going to have to live with that car but I didn't hear from him for several years. Finally one day he shows up in my office wanting to know if I had another late 70s early 80s big V8 Cadillac. I asked him if that head gasket finally let go and he said no the transmission did so he sold it to someone he said the head gasket was still leaking he sold it. I had traded for a 78 or 79 Fleetwood that had had an engine fire we had got it running and we're planning on sending it out to the auction but he saw it and just had to have it I sold it to him and never saw him again long about that same time I get a call from a gal sold a car to three or four years prior and she had taken it to a shop and they told her it needed something done all I can remember is it was a normal wear item, I'm pretty sure it was brakes but she was wanting me to pay for it and if I remember correctly she had put 30k mi on it. We usually checked stuff like brakes and if they were more than half worn we would go ahead and change them etc. Granted about half worn is kind of a judgement call so the pads may have needed changed on her car by 30kmi. This was probably a $2,500 turd because of bread-and-butter my business was $2,500 to $5,000 anyting retailing for more usually ended up having a birthday on my lot and thirty some odd years ago that kind of money got you a pretty decent car
I don’t “HOLD” anything for ANYONE. I never ask for a deposit either. I tell them to hand it to me and I’ll see you tomorrow, and I’ll have it shined up, gassed up and ready for you. If they say no, then I literally make it my mission to sell that specific vehicle immediately. Then when they come in 2 or 3 days later and wonder why it’s gone, I just say I TOLD you to give me a deposit and you refused. 😂
I hear that. I took a chance on a guy last week for buying my truck. Took the ad down and everything. We will see if I made a mistake because I usually never do that. 🤞 I will find out tomorrow around noon. Update, sold today. Guy came through. That's a miracle 🙏 but I wouldn't make a habit of it. Cash today is usually my saying. Thanks for the video R.U.C
Been in the motorcycle industry for 20 years here. Have customers all the time bringing in their own oil, filters, tires etc. and asking "how much would you charge to install my stuff?" Well "you" could have bought all those items here and we would be happy to service your motorcycle but due to the fact that the items were not bought here we will not install them because we will not stand behind the products. I explain to most of them that they do not go to Waffle House and bring a bag of eggs, bacon and hashbrowns and ask "how much would you charge to fix this breakfast for me?" They get the picture and walk out...
Thanks for holding it down big dawg Rabbit. Appreciate ya big time. In the future I'd like to see you show your process, pretending you're almost broke. Like a rookie. I think it would reveal skills that ol rabbit forgot rabbit has ✌️
I remember one time, 7 year old me went with my parents looking at a replacement for my mom's minivan and I told the salesman that it was a POS 😅 My dad pulled me aside and told me he's trying to get the best price for the van because they're going to trade it for the new car.
Rabbit, there is a fuller version of that old adage. Buyer’s are liars, but their garbage tells the truth…. That little tidbit I learned from a friend of mine who was a PI. He would investigate people for our version of the IRS ( The CRA in Canada) who declared bankruptcy or had lifestyles that were not in line with their reported income. He would roll up on expensive houses and very decked out driveways and the titled owner listed their source of income as a dishwasher or a janitor. Yet there was A new Porsche, A BMW in front of a two million dollar house….. Every trash day, we would work the trash truck a scoop that houses garbage in a special way…. And every time he would catch the person he was investigating by stuff they tossed away…. That dishwasher never washed a dish in his life… it was his brothers restaurant and he was manufacturing “substances “ long before breaking bad was even an idea. Everyone has two sides….
I see some of these videos from a year ago and think about if he had some kind of indicator to take himself to the doctor. Catch it early. He might be on the road to recovery by now.
A year ago, after watching his show on Netflix I reached out to this guy and heaped praise on both his voice and his overall refreshingly natural warm energy! He replied and made my day and I like to think I helped make his. So glad I did. 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇲
That's the best thing I've heard..."everybody else would just block him, but I'm not a bitch, so i don't care" 😂😂 I'm the same way, fuck blocking people. Lol i Def don't send em my address now a days tho. Rabbit REALLY ain't a bitch then lol, I must be part bitch i guess since i won't give em my addy 😂😂
Mother and I thoroughly enjoy your videos and VinWiki stories i am new to selling cars on Facebook marketplace and desperately need some tips tricks and anything else you think i could use plz I have been trying to sell my cars and i answer everything nicely and send photos and videos all completely honest and they love the pictures and videos immensely and show up and instantly change into an attitude that seems like I'm trying to screw them over i take photos and video with new Samsung fold 5 so they're definitely not terrible photos at all Just not understanding why they change when they instantly get here I have no problem with 1 to 5 people but it's 9 going on 10 and am thoroughly tired of them getting my hopes up and then instantly shooting them down like what the hell I'm not rude I'm very nice I keep adding everything they ask for and more on top just makes no sense
The old telephone tough guy routine. Fck'em Rabbit. People don't get it. You're running a for profit business not a Non-profit charity. Keep doing the best you can for you and yours and F$ck the ones that don't like it.
Me*Haven't been watching Rob Pitts video for 1 week* Also Me *Sees title of this video & say to myself* "Oh Lord what Quagmire did the Rabbit get himself into now... P.s Not Surprised
Hey Rob, if you come by a k2500/k3500. Send me a Pm, I’ll give you my info. I know these HDs are not your cup of tea. Keep me in mind since your out there getting clean rigs.
You're a better man than me. I've sold enough things to know that I'm not a Salesman. The amount of bottom-feeding Tire kickers is staggering. Trying to figure out how not to get your time completely wasted is a complete artform
Sounds like this person never heard of.. first come first serve. I always thought that's how the car business was..crap or get off the pot..this person sounds like the one who would snitch if ya cut in line.🤭😁🤭😁
Hollywood is wasting Rabbit. I was lucky enough to meet a lot of folk due to military guys as a civilian and folk from around the globe by going to gymnasium (college/university).
"This guy messaged me and threatened to shoot me in the face. So I tracked him down, seduced his mother, and gave it to her up the poop shoot. All while camera guy Matt filmed" 🎶 That's how we do it in the South 🎶
I'll give a classic example of selling stuff online. Had a correct 77t/a factory carb on flea bay. Started the bidding at $1. Some queeef basket starts messaging me 100 times with questions, will I include mounting bolts, blah blah blah. This colorful individual gets the carb for one dollar. Then complains about the box it was shipped in....I do hope it burns when he pees.
I don't understand why you have so many haters rob I told one off the other day Talkin crazy like he knows you and your business like he slips your shoes on daily..
Yeah ya kinda did it to yourself all the way around,,time to start drinking Geritol ol man 😂 it does sound like ya need a hug though so go hug your favorite lady, peace.
its easy for poor people to hate wealthy people. somehow, it seems to justify being foolish with decisions, money, etc. not many people are actually born into wealth, they have to work for it. now, im not rich, probably never will be. im ok with it, i make enough to make ends meet, and still have a few bucks in my pocket. sure, id like to own a 71 hemi cuda, or a 74 lancia stratos, a bricklin, so on and so on. but, the reality is, i wont ever afford it. i actually appreciate videos people showing off cars, allowing me to see how they function, etc. i enjoy learning about all kinds of cars.
i haven’t watched a video in a long while… did the rabbit get a stylist? he’s got on a button down and dress shoes, he’s dressing like ed bolian now lol.
Us back yard flippers got these problems as well, I’ll say it it kinda rough getting everything in order correctly without doing quite a few unconventional in the beginning. I totally respect you and commend you for your success and love the stories but unless you have an investor or a damn good paying job before you actually start legitimately it is difficult to do things the right way from the start . Please don’t kick me down too hard brotha just putting it out there. I believe the system should be worked a different way for beginners and possibly allowing you to do deals to pay the fees and for acquiring a facility in a timely manner? Would like y’all’s opinions
Takes money to make money. That’s the bottom line, and the barrier to entry to any business. Want to sell lemonade? You gotta buy the lemons and sugar and cups first. If you can’t afford the start up costs of a business (many can’t), then you bring your business plan to a bank, with your estimate of sales and expenses and cash flow, and detailing how you’ll be able to pay them back if they loan you money. If you get the business loan, you’ll probably spend the first 6 months losing money, then the next 18 months breaking even or earning some net income but any extra cash going to pay down those high interest bank loans. Eventually, if you’re doing good, you have the bank loans paid off, and now you have more profits (no interest expense/ monthly bank loan payments to make), and you can start to actually grow your business and taking some of those profits for yourself. It’s a tough path though - and many times you gotta work a second job to pay the bills while you’re building up your business. There’s a reason 9 out of 10 small startup businesses fail in the first couple years. For used car sales, you see a bunch of “buy here/pay here” lots with cars the dealer picked up at auction for $2-3k and are selling for $7-8k to people who can’t get financing through banks. They require a $2k deposit, then charge them a 24.9% interest rate on the balance, then repo the car after the person stops making payments 6 months later and repeats the process with the next buyer. They make all their money on the financing. Don’t be that guy. I’d recommend making a name for yourself in some way - reputation will help sell cars. You just gotta build that reputation. Lose a bit of money selling some cars just to make the customer completely happy, if that’s what it takes. Then that customer comes back when they need another car, or tells their family and friends to buy a car from you. Specialize in certain types of cars. Hold car meets at your car lot for enthusiasts to come meet up, and give out free donuts. Or organize cruise drives. Make that reputation so people want to buy their next car from you. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Takes hard work, sacrifice, and time. Any business.
Hell man… I hate the dumb shit I deal with just buying a car or truck on marketplace… Selling one is ten times worse. I give you credit sir, for maintaining your cool while telling them what they can do… Keep up the good work man! Stupid people are everywhere…
