On your next visit try Jack Stack (best baked beans in town) and Harp. Harp is moving to Overland Park KS around Labor Day weekend. I'm surprised you didn't get served the Andy Reid special at Q39 (LOL),
New up-and-comers Wolfpack, Chef J, and Harps. Haprs has been written up in several national publications and rated the best in the country. These are more Texas-style. PS Joe's is Travis and his mom's favorite BBQ joint although I doubt he can eat there anymore. .
Dude, you should have reviewed the beans. I drove from New Jersey with a cooler back to Joe's and got myself a gallon of them. One of the best things I've ever eaten on the road.
I've never been much of a barbecue fan, but man...after watching this video, I might have to rethink some things! All of the ribs you tried looked incredible, as did the brisket. I kinda want it all now hahaha 🤤
KC native here, If you find yourself at Joe's again, get that Z-man but order it "Jumbo" (extra brisket) and on Texas toast instead of the kaiser roll. It gets you a much better meat-to-bread ratio.
I passed an Autozone on Palm Ave & 13th St (where San Diego & Imperial Beach meet), and someone had a smoker going full steam. This made me wish I had stopped, but 9am might have been a little too early.
You had me laughing on the floor within the first 48 seconds! I am new to your channel and didn't know where you were from. I'm glad you liked the KC BBQ. Being from Buffalo, NY you should try the wings at The Peanut on Main St. I would be curious to know what you think of them. Again, new to your channel so don't know if you have already done a video on that. I'll search your channel to see.
One of the newer spots that's in North KC that has amazing BBQ is 3 Halves Brewpub and BBQ in Liberty, MO. Everyone always goes to Q39, Joe's and SLAPs when they visit KC. Sometimes the unpopular choice has the best BBQ ;)
This is a wild comment. As a KC native, Gate's may be one of my last choices of all the iconic spots. The one's he hit are literally the highest rated for a reason.
Hey come to KC anytime we appreciate you Bills fans losing (spending money) in our town 😂 but seriously great content and I appreciate the honest review- now get lost looooooooser
Ya you missed a few choice spots Gates, Jack Stack to name a couple. But I'd recommend coming back during a home game. You can smell the BBQ as soon as you get close. Even a Bills fan is welcome. In addition there is nothing like going to the American Royal. You should go at least once in your life.
I recently had ribs and burnt ends at Joe's in Olathe. The ribs were so salty they were almost inedible. The the burnt ends were nothing of note either.
