Great to see an actual run down rather than guess work. I found that all my original costings were under valued. It took me nearly a year to actually realise the actual costs involved. But with perseverance it has paid off for me. ( I purchased my own truck as it was much lower that the lease cost ).

The lease is a bit of an experiment. Will move on from knight once market improves a little. Later this year.

Those repair costs should be covered 100% under warranty. If knight is billing you 15% they’re robbing you blind.

Good show. Grease up that fifth wheel plate. Safer in bad weather and reduces excessive steer tire and front suspension wear.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you take a week? Off. Or if you're truck goes into the shop for 2 or 3 weeks for repairs your going in the negative right? Dude...why would u do this to yourself?

What about towing? That gets pricey really quick. So you go to a non affiliated facility, while paying 100% of the bill and they tack on 15%. Issues covered if you go to a company shop or affiliated company deductible shall apply. How many company or affiliated shops around in your service area??

Do you also do the mentorship program? I'm planning on getting my CDL and applying with knight within the next month or two so I can have enough money to pay my bills etc. While schooling. I live just outside vegas so vegas would be my "home"

Brother if your happy that is all that counts, me personally I would not enter a deal like this you are way better off as a company driver maybe not for knight or if you could swing it buy your tractor and stop this make believe owner operator have the freedom and reap the rewards the freedom and not being dictated by the Knight oh and the 15% ..

You're comparing dollar for dollar. How does it stack up with the per diem eliminated for tax purposes. You also have to file a 1099. Is it worth the liability?

Probably isn't. Just posting the numbers for all to see. You do still get a tax write off of $59 per day though. Same idea as Per Diem.

A lot of times it’s just an incentive for drivers to run harder and go home less.. there’s always a “break even point”. For example, if you drive over 2800 miles a week on average, the lease program will pay you more in the long run. I will never do it, but I see why the programs exist and why people fall for them.

Frankly you much better off getting on at a good dedicated account as a company driver than doing an otr lease purchase . My mileage pay is higher we get paid for everything and get weekends off and get in during the week . Keep your record clean and build a good reputation and the jobs are out there

So what happens if your truck is down for repairs and you aren’t able to run any loads? Do they have a rental program so you can have revenue coming in while waiting for your truck?

Don't know for sure personally, but according to their website they do have a program to rent trucks to stay running if your truck is down for maintenance
