I was a drama student at Salford Uni, 90-92 (living in-between Cheetham Hill and Higher Broughton) and if you had a video project on they'd let you take cameras for the weekend. One night I took the camera and shot all around Sackville Street... transferred the tapes to DVD about 20 years ago and the footage is a great tiem capsule. Went back there two years ago for our reunion and I couldn't believe how much they'd cleaned up the canal area... taken all the danger out of it.
That area used to be my walking short cut to and from work. Some of the women used to recognise me and give a friendly hello, but not too friendly. Haven't lived that side of Manchester for over 20 years now. Sad to see it even worse.
Yep, it's not for everyone. I used to have a mate that loved going with prostitutes, and i just couldn't get my head round it, weird. He was a decent looking fella with plenty of chat, he loved girls and girls loved him, he just preferred prozzies!
Been like this around there for years, I’m going back 30 years when I worked on the Underground Market in Manchester and would come up here with one or two of the owners to keep an eye on the cars ( full of stock )while they went in the wholesalers.
@@alymac1997 Started seeing my ex wife in 91 and moved to Higher Broughton where she lived in 92, just off Bury New Road, just past the Rialto as it was then, McDonalds now 🤣
There was a time when Moss Side and Whalley Range were the Red light districts of Manchester, those girls should always be in pairs and take the number plate of the cars
But Cheetham Hill was always a red light district even when Walley Range was. Sackville Street, Whitworth Street in Manchester city centre used to be a red light district too, but over the years the street lighting in that area has been massively improved, so I don't that area is a red light area now. And also around Chorlton Street coach station at the top end of Sackville Street was.
@@deang5622 yes Sackville street was another red light area, nowadays it's the gay village so I don't go there, of course Piccadilly was notorious for girls, someone posted a street on Facebook, Broadfield road in Moss Side, the cars that used to be driven so slowly down there and also along Withington Road, I just feel sorry for those girls who do it, maybe some of them are forced into it
I hope there not paying these lovely ladies of the night and day minimum wage, they deserve at least £20 a hour doing shift work. Keep up the good work ladies.
Social realism at it's most depraved desolation captured on film. Post apocalyptic atmosphere to you've shown to the world. This is intriguing to watch.
Don't judge, sex is natural, it only became a sin when christianity came along. Before that the human race was very open sexually, look at roman and greek society.
I used to work close to here in the 90s and a few of the girls would say hello when walking past on way home from night shift. I seen one girl one night getting grabbed by throat by an Asian guy and I chased him off. I always feel sorry for the girls but I know they all have their own story why working the streets but they do deserve a safer working place. I really didn't even think that girls would still be working the streets.
Are you not worried about getting done for kerb crawling? I used to visit the brewery a lot in the 90s and drink in the Dutton, that was a shit hole, popular with the Strangeways screws for a lock in.
We're not picking anyone up or talking to them. We're just driving through documenting the area. This channel is both husband and wife (wife driving) lol I think the dutton is gone now. Thanks for watching 👍
You'd have to be seen driving by nine times or talking to them, but even then you could say you were lost or asking for directions..... possibly I wouldn't know myself obviously 😏
@@my3rdeye896 I know it's unfair, but I'm pretty sure I remember watching a video on television about Manchester police and their vice squad, pulling slow moving cars over.
This idea is not new.I heard a discussion about it on a radio programme a few years ago. Many women,in this business,'phoned in and objected to the idea of losing 20% or more of their earnings by going legitimate. Although they earned in a night, what would take them a week in a supermarket or office, they felt the dangers involved and general unpleasantness of the work, entitled them to keep all they received.
It's been found that legalising raises the sex trafficking numbers, which makes sense. If it's legal then you are never going to suspect that the girls participating are being forced.
In Thailand --Prostitution is illegal. But--at least the girls hang out in bars and are grouped together! A 'mamasan' usually looks after them. The girls of many bars are known to them, that provides a sort of 'security'? This looks dangerous for the players and the chancers here! Neither know what the others going to be like! Scary!
Show her the world teach her good and bad. take her to church a nice fellowship will surely help. Above all tell her you love her more than anything in this world.
Sad ? In what way is it sad Are they forced by a pimp to do it, or through a need to get money for drugs. Unless we know their individual stories it's difficult to judge whether they need help or not. I am not against them, neither am I for them, without having more information, which this video doesn't give
That is the tower in strangeways prison. I believe they used that for hanging people back in the day but I may be wrong. There's another video going up shortly in this area during the day you can see that more clearly. Thanks for watching 👍
Why don't they show this on the news?!,at least it would be a more honest broadcast -instead of showing Tory's swigging back champagne in Birmingham.I feel sorry for the women, what a terrible life it must be for them, all it takes is one "psycho".They must have a drug problem to live like this,l hope God is watching over them.
If thats the trading estate in cheetham hill it was bad 25 years ago. We had a customer on there and it was mental. I feel sorry for thos women putting up with those dead leg perverts
Because the owners are often based abroad and is pretty much impossible to get in touch or find the owners, also it’s only residential properties where the councils can seek possession of abandoned buildings and again finding the owners is hard! A lot of money laundering by rich foreigners is done with property hence why there are so many abandoned buildings and foreign owners
There's a new video iv uploaded of a day time drive around this same area. These buildings are not abandoned it's very busy during business hours. Thanks for watching 👍
They really couldn't mate. Most of these girls are crack/meth/heroin addicts and they look it tbh. A lot of them will have no teeth or fucked up teeth and if they don't currently, a couple of years on the game and strung out on crack will do it for them. The street corner is the only way for them to really make money.
It's a bit sad, but then I suppose it provides money for those who desperately need it. Most clients are married men - it's the old, old saying - "single men have girlfriends, married men have mistresses". So, if anyone wants to critisize the girls, they should first start with looking at "marriage" - it doesn't seem to be working, does it.?
I think you're right John. Once many (not all) ladies here get married they just switch off. Personally, I don't think any man should get married these days, and certainly not to a Western woman. Tried the normal Western approach but shafted so then married a lady from SE Asia. Unbelievable difference. I get up in the morning to a breakfast menu! Married now 16 years and what a difference.
That depends on who you marry, it worked for me. I used to work nights at Kings Cross and never understood why how men could go with the dregs there. My mate said he'd rather buy a Parade and have a wank.
@@flipper2392 yes, I agree with all of this. But we need to ask the men "why do they do it?". If there's no business, then there's no girls on the call. Simple.!
John Taylor - a lot of single men are clients too.. marriage has nothing to do with it ...or any relationship, for that matter... most men just want uncomplicated sex...some men have strength in values and some do not, as do some women-its just the way it is, and will always be.
Stop 🛑 the BS !, Most clients are single men who can't get Free sex including me, if clients were married and could get Free sex, why would they pay for it?? Stop 🛑 the lies, to satisfy society
