This is the season for mangoes in Trinidad and the mango trees are laden, so it is the right time for the Mango Melee or 2024 Trinidad Mango Festival. We are going to see what mango products have been produced for the Mango Melee. I always look forward to this Mango Festival in Trinidad to see how inventive people in Trinidad are with food products. So I am eagerly anticipating seeing various food items that are infused with mango.

first time i heard about the mango festival, its a very good idea since T&T has different variety, but like you, i was disappointed that it didn't have a mango sweet bread, cake or even pone.

Was this mango festival in Point Fortin? Seems like that bottle if mango ponche creme was overpriced at $60 TT for that small bottle. How many bottles will he sell at that price?

The Mango Festival was in St Augustine near to the University of the West Indies. I did find the Ponche A Creme expensive but it tasted good.

Hi pointboy, Thk you for your video of the Mango Festival in Trinidad 🇹🇹, I have Never Been to a Mango Festival ever, so I don’t know about the Experience, but When I was Younger In Trinidad I and my friends Used to go by our Neighbors Mango Tree, Julie & Cutlash & Calabash MANGO’s and pick enough Mango to have our own Mango Festival,back in 1984 & 1989 in Diego Martin, and enough Mango to make 2 buckets full of Mango Chow & 5 Large basin of Curry Mango or Curry Mango black Amchar.. The good ole days will never be Again, but just wanted to say that would Love to Drink some of that Mango Ponch de Crème, and If I was there @ That Festival I would would have brought 5 Large bottles of it Which I think is Absolutely Dirt Cheap for $150 TTD and a Excellent Bargain to Drink on My Balcony Porch @ my Townhouse Home were I Live Overlooking the Long Island Sounds., and watching the Cargo & Ferry ships Pass by on the Sound., Thks Again my Friend, Stay Safe and Healthy, God blessings to you all..! 😎❤️🇺🇸🌈🇹🇹😋👍🏾

@pointboy12

True there are cheaper white rum on the market now. However I find that the strong rums over the taste of everything else.

Pointboy, that mango festival was missing mango products. This looked like a folk fair, it lacked creativity.😊 Pointboy, I suspect you have never eaten a starch mango, simply because you did not see you buy any. Pointboy, when people have a starch mango 🥭 tree 🌳 in their yard they don't advertise it because they know they will be bombarded 😅 I agree with you that punch was a bit expensive, I thought he was going to say $25-$30. But the man knows the love he put into it, so who am I to argue? And judging from the notes you picked up in the Punch, it sounds delicious 😋. Ps: do you know how they were selling the starch mangoes at the festival, could you let me know?😊 If I was there, I would have bought ALL 😊😊😅

Of course I eat starch mango. It is not my favourite but I will eat when I get. I eat plenty La Brea Gyul and that is a type of starch plus my uncle has a starch mango tree. I think they sold all the mangoes at 20 or 30 dollars a heap. I agree the festival was lacking.
@halcexon

@pointboy12 You know how long I have not heard that name La Brea Guyl. Yes, that is a lovely mango. My grandmother was from LA Brea, and we spent every Easter and July-August in La Brea.😃 those were such good times. Down by the old bachelor towers had a lot of those mango 🥭 thees.🥰

I also live in the area & only found out because I happen to b passing by the car park & saw tents going up. It wasn’t bad. I had the mango polori & ice cream. The punchacreme was a bit pricey.

Mango is mango, bread or sweet bread are likewise, they need not mess with them. I'll hate to taste bread/sweet bread tasting like mango. We Trinidadian like to experiment with everything, while that's good sometimes, we need to know when to leave good alone. Mango, bread and sweet bread needs to be left alone. Not even mango flour. Please leave them alone.

This festival is the worse. I stopped going years ago Things tasteless and overpriced . Imagine mango amchar was beinng sold by the pound. Not worth the time. And worse yet you hardly get mangoes to buy😊

This year however there were mangoes on sale and they had a variety of mangoes.
