The man who discovered the Forgotten Land: First of all, We salute you Sir. We never thought that you will have thorough idea about Manipur. The most interesting part in his lecture "Chief minister came to Delhi for demanding money and didn't mentioned anything about the burning situation of Manipur.". He knows about the emotions, sentiments, cultures and sports about Manipur and the importance of North-East people in India. If we have a person like him, I am sure that Manipur will be in peace.
His deep knowledge about Manipur is really worth a priceless thing. Kukis will never have such history as they are Really the Illegal immigrants from myanmar. Thats y they dont want SoO to remove, to not fence the Border and kept on telling lies and playing victim to the world when in fact they started the whole Burning of innocent meitei houses for their Kukiland blaming Meitei want ST status. See meitei have evry right to be in ST status criteria. Anyone who have deep knowledge and unbiased will say Meiteis are innocent. A simple peace loving Ethnic group who forgot to hold even a catapult before 3 May.
I m 4m Kolkata and a final yr mechanial engineering student, I hv a future plan to do smthing for Manipur, to tk part for development of Manipur, to build a good infrastructure...
Shri G K Pillai, you have earned the Respect of Manipuris. We appreciate your acknowledgement, indepth analysis and assessment of the ground reality along with your suggestions of feasible solutions. May it come true sooner than later. Blessed Be You! Thank You Again!!!
This is all rubbish. Hinduism did not came on 18th century. This is a British propaganda set by Mr. Hudson to divide and rule without any proof. Hindus were there from time immemorial. There was no proof of ethnic religion before 20th century, when British imported this theory of divide and rule and converted all Hindu deities to local deities. The worst ethnic violence were done on Bishnupriya Manipuris who were killed, looted and now living awful lives in Assam, Bangladesh, Tripura and other areas in the name of revivalism. They should return to Bishnupur.
@@yumkhamrohitson3061 In that sense, you are outsider too. At times, Manipuri people were part of Myanmar and Shan state of ancient China, who later took help from Indian states like Ahoms, Chutiya, Bengalis, Tripuris and later British to defend modern Manipur. So, your ancestors chose to be rather Indian than being Burmese or Chinese. So, stop peddling these bullshit that you are native and we are outsiders. Even Myanmar was part of ancient India (Bharat) at that time when you migrated to Manipur. So, stop believing in this foreign propaganda to divide us. We all are Indians and Hindu culture is our root with many diverse traditions, of which you can definitely observe your Methei culture as long as you are not anti-Hindu.
Im really surprised someone from the mainland India knows this much about the north east and Manipur specially...a great thank you but what we need a strong commitment and timely actions from the central govt, people of mainland India and also the common man of manipur.

@@sanjoydey1030 hinduism was never there in manipur. it came on late 18th century when the king on that time urge people to convert it. In fact, before that meitei have their own religion which follow sanamahism. You can look it up to google. And its better for you to not distort the history and makes those remarks which are baseless & false.
What a wonderful recommendation by RU-vid....I was watching a lot of videos of Manipur to understand the source of the current crisis....then suddenly this pooped up...AI/ML❤
Sir, you earned the respect, trust and admiration of not only the peoples of Manipur but also all North East India.. We respect you and hope you will bring changes in the perspective of mainland Indians on North East Indians
food for thought! GK Pillai earned accolades as a bureaucrat ... this analysis should earn him not only the respect of Manipuris but all sensible Indians... The way forward suggested are well thought out though it may need additional inputs on the Hills and views of the Manipuris - hills and valleys
Words will surely fail me to appreciate your understanding of this region of ours. Kudos to you sir.. Hopefully enough people in power would listen to your meaningful counsel at the state as well as central ministry.
Indian Govertment should send the GK Pillai to Manipur. Then only peace will come to our State. I thankful to you to mention that Manipur was country once upon a time
@@lianhangsing922 we welcome all as long as it's about living peacefully.everyone has migrated at a point of time.if we were so bad,Meitei Muslims wouldn't exist today.but They were given women and allowed to practice Islam.but today we are blamed by everyone just because we are majority. we have enough problems as humans.we should focus on 'live and let live'
26/11 is a great coincidence though....great insight of NE sir... Great respect. You have studied well and you have hinted many issues which need to be addressed...Thank you for your insights.
Came here after lots of talking going on in and around the state about you talking about Manipur. And yet, the history came out so smooth and clear. Hope the GOI listened to this talk. Manipur really needs someone like you from mainland INDIA to help the state remain as usual with no change in territory.
Salute to Mr.G.K Pillai, i really appreciate for narrating the stories of our state, narrating the problem that we faced, and what can be done in order to make our state more developed, mentioning both our demerits and merits..i really hope all our state politicians as well the center politicians will listen to this talk, n see our problems and make our state a better prosper state...
You earned my respect ! I am not a Manipuri but having lived in troubled Hills of Assam, I can emphatise with the people of Manipur. All the problems, mistakes of both the Manipuris and Indian leaders and the solution suggested are well appreciated by me. Thanks !
G.K. Pillai, I really appreciate for being understand about present situation of Manipur as well as history of Manipur. We need such kind of person like you from the central govt who can push towards the development.
Thank you very much and kudos to Mr Pillai for his forthright and honest view of Manipur which would help all Indians to understand Manipur and the North East better . This video needs top be circulated all over the country .
Got a better understanding about Manipur the jewel state. It art forms dances (pungchola, manipuri) have always fascinated me. And the beautiful frank people's. If our nation succeeds, it's credit go's to three people's those we can't see in main street medias and not the politicians Jai Hind
Appreciate your analysis dear G.K. Pillai. We 'Manipuris' are noble and peace loving people. At the same time, we are proud people of our ancient culture and history. Way forward for 'Indian Union' is understanding ourselves and mutual respect.
I Salute You Sir .... Legend Sir ....Sir please come to Manipur and help to finish the insurgency problem and bring development in Manipur ....U r d only one from mainland India who knows about the Kangleipak history how our challenges are coming and people's are living in the frying pan of large 🔥
A privilege to listen to the lecture! Thanks to IDSA (and youtube) for making this available for the public! Would be a pleasure to meet the person in person. An objective analysis like this should be shared with more folks in india - both manipuris (and including meiteis, nagas, kukis, and all tribes) and non-manipuris. There is a BIG issue to sensitize the general people in India. And for us manipuris, we need to recognize our roots, embrace the winds of change and be in peace.
Great understanding about Manipur and give great insight about the relationship between different tribe of our state including meitei tribe.I didn't imagine of a mainland Indian will do such a great research about this forgotten Kingdom .salute you sir.
We need u Sir, as a C M of Manipur either u or Ibobi ,No party required. Modhiji aapne Biren ko CM banakr bahut bhul kardiya, hmne vote aapke namse diya Biren k lie nahi .Jai hind jai Modhiji jai Manipur 🙏long live Manipur 💖
he is very right the reason for unhappiness u see in many of the north eastern states is due to the way the mainland india took over or handling of those Independent countries....i am from sikkim althought a peacefull state but back in "75" the way the paramilitary force took over sikkim is still fresh in many minds and haterate towards indira gandhi...not complaining here but one really needs to focus whn it comes to states where customs/traditions/language/eating habits/race are vry diff!!!
You have a narrow minded approach here, as if mainland India was a Kingdom and imperialist, Sikkim is well protected along with its heritage and culture. I don't see anything wrong done with incorporation of Sikkim into India.
IDSA you have someone who understands Manipur than any other Indian from mainland. Please make sure that you spread this information to many policymakers and bureaucrats as possible,GK Pillai given route will solve the problem in Manipur and in NE in general.Cheers!!
Thanks sir i am from manipur our manipur people want peace life but naga nacm( im) want war so that is the diffrent our manipur people is so good people
It's been 7 long years and nothing has changed, instead more and more problem have come up. There's a long list of issues we've been facing in the north Eastern states especially in state like Manipur, Arunachal.
If there were a few honest people like him in the government who know the ground reality in the north east, we would have been living in paradise by now.
Thanks to ISDA and to RU-vid for this upload..Its an extremely honest, heartfelt and practical assessment of the situation in Manipur. I immensely appreciate Shri Pillai's humane analysis as he has nailed the problem head on and identified a list of immediate and long-term measures to resolve the ongoing conflict and improve the economic condition of the state.
