Nice quick video this week as my neck is really sore today and I'm stoned on painkillers :)
Going to be taking a look at Sibylla pretiosa, the Cryptic mantis.
Always loved these guys, super fun to feed and watch. Never a dull moment with them although they're not for the faint hearted.

One of my favourite mantis which I breed every year. I have several wild ones living in this room at all times lol

great video as always. I had a Sybilla too, sadly it died already as adult. Can confirm that it was very shy and I couldnt feed it with forceps (some species are very reluctant and easy to feed, other completely close when you try to feed them). Now I got another young Sibylla, so I am looking forward to let it grow.

I do love this species, I only did this video now because all I had left was the one adult male...soon I shall have none :(

Just got a few nymphs! Do you have tips for keeping them communally? I have a 30x30x45 tank to set up. The temp is something I've been struggling to find a clear picture on so your point was very interesting.

I answered then to the wrong video lol as I thought this was the dragonfly one I just did 😂 These are one of my favourite species and I currently have around 30 of them (some are just free roaming on plants in my bug room so it's a best guess) - Room temperature appears to keep them quite happy, so 20C and over. The problem I find with communal is that if one gets much bigger than the others it may turn to predation on the smaller ones. Having a really big enclosure, or keeping it constantly full of flies can prevent this, but the jury is still out for me.

@@themantisgarden uhh if I remember correctly it was mantisden, got it at the IHS show, he's got none right now but the mantis house seems to have some

About an hour from Manchester mate. It's the Great Ant Exhibition, but it will be filled with lots of arthropod vendors - Actually, more than ant vendors lol - Check out; antsonarock.com
