Many AFRICAN MEN will suffer at old age except they know these things! 

Im an American married to a 1st gen Nigerian man. I will say that men are def. suffering in elderly age but primarily because they are not properly preparing for retirement. They are giving too much to their family and no one is supposed to do that all of the time. My father in law sent all of his money back home for years and has nothing to show for it. My husband unconsciously expected me to "help" him "care" for our father. I cannot do that. I still have my own children to take care of and other things to do to prepare for my own retirement. My mother in law died years ago. They struggled. Struggle has to eventually end. No one in this day and age is supposed to leave their financial future in the hands of their children. That is operating from survival mode, and society has progressed. Most of the men in my husbands community that are elderly are struggling. They have abused their wives and sent all of their money back home for years. Your children are not retirement funds.
