on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch geography related games. We mainly play Sporcle games like "naming all 197 countries". I successfully learned all 197 countries and plan to learn more Geography trivia. On this channel I also play Geoguessr. This is a game that uses Google Street View to drop you in a random location and you have to work out exactly where you are on the worldwide map. Geoguessr was created in 2013. 0.19 hours isn’t 20 minutes. There’s 60 minutes an hours, hence, walking across the Vatican would take 0.19*60 which is approximately 11 minutes…. It would take just over 10 minutes to cross the Vatican and that’s just crazy Edit for people who’s interested (check the comments, I accidentally mixed it up whoops) In English, commas are used to separate thousands, millions etc., whereas a period is used to separate whole numbers from decimals. So two-thousand-three-hundred-and-thirty-seven point 5 would be 2,337.5 In my native language Danish (and probably other languages as well) we do it the other way around, so, taking the example from before, it would be written 2.337,5.

It's written weirdly, 0,19 hours is correct for Vatican but for Monaco it says 0,57 hours while it's actually 57 minutes

The maps at 5:00 were quite tricky, especially C and K proved to be difficult. A: Japan, B: France, C: Brazil, D: Vatican, E: Egypt, F: USA, G: Chile, H: Mexico, I: Italy, J: Chad, K: Lithuania, L: New Zealand, M: India, N: Greece, O: Russia, P: Australia.

@@vincenzodanello4085 you can tell it's the Vatican since the borders are obviously man made but don't use the classic we'll just draw a perfectly straight line on the map that the Europeans love but instead it goes straight for a little then takes a sharp turn allover the place like you would see in an unplanned city also for the original poster I managed to figure all of them besides Brazil and Lithuania then managed to figure out brazil through maps but Lithuania was so hard for me to find so thank you

Fuck. D was Vatican. Motherfuckers. K was Lithuania. Ah ok. Those were the 2 I didn't get but I've never seen Vatican in that degree of magnification. Lithuania's problem for me was I wasn't finding how a small coast country could be that bloby, but, yeah, that was lazy on my part.

So basically, Zealandia was formed by two tectonic events. The first being that tectonic forces stretched and thinned Zealandia's crust until it was ripped from the ancient supercontinent Gondwana (more specifically it ripped away from what is now Australia and Antarctica) about 85 million years ago. This created what we now call the Tasman Sea. And then it was carved by forces that started the Ring of Fire

Actually continents and tectonic plates are not the same thing. A continents is described as a large landmass separated from other continents by a large body of water. Whereas tectonic plates are gigantic pieces of the Earth's crust and uppermost mantle making up the Earths surface. In addition, there are 6 continents of the world, but there are 17 tectonic plates and most of them (if they were above sea level) would not be large enough to be called a "continent", they would just be islands or part of a continent.

Ich finde es sehr merkwürdig lol. Die Grammatik ist sehr schwerig zu lernen und es dauert Jahren nur okay Deutsch zu schreiben, verstehen und sprechen. Vielen Deutschen verstehen und sprechen auch Englisch okay. UND dann wenn man nach Deutschland reisen und für 7 Jahren Deutsch studiert haben, kann man immer noch nicht die Deutschen verstehen, weil Ihr so schnell sprechen. - Eine Däne.

I live in the mediterranean region, in an olive-oil producing city, and yes, we put it on salads, smal quantities tho, we also can use it as a dip with pita bread and Za'atar (Oregano-thyme and sesame seeds) and it's considered the (poor man's food) locally, but foreigners do like the taste of it.

4:34 In Israel we're actually in a funny hybrid type of school uniform in most of schools for at least the last 15 years: only the top is a uniform (short/long sleeved t shirt and a hoodie for colder days, both are plain with a school symbol printed on them), while the bottom and accessories (shoes, hat etc.) are not in a uniform, but do have a dress code (not too short, no flip flops..) A lot of us think it's pretty stupid combo, though...

"Apparently it's just me and the Balkans" Namibia: 👁👄👁 Which makes sense Namibia wants to do that considering its colonial past (cough cough there's a Namibian named after a certain mustache man...who won a local election for a constituency). Also makes a lot of sense for the countries in blue in Africa to be learning French and the countries in red learning English. The countries in blue (with the exception of Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea) were colonized by the British and want to speak with their red neighbors who speak French and vice versa.

3:21 you look at this and go wtf, but the data your not getting is the total population of those counties. We are probably talking about a few thousand people max, most of which are families that have lived in those areas since their ancestors first settled that area.

0:58 It certainly looks cool, but at the time there were some incredible maps in circulation already. Just take a look at Clement Cruttwell maps for instance, if it weren't for the yellow tint of the paper, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart from modern day maps

I was thinking the same; it's a neat map, but western cartography was well advanced by that time, albeit comparatively primitive to modern techniques. This feels more equivalent to maps made just before the Renaissance, or even more so medieval times.

Missouri's weird food being Provel makes sense. Idk how it became so popular, since it tastes like Velveeta marinated in pool water. I'd love St. Louis style pizza if it were just the cracker crust and they left their """""cheese""""" off of it. Also, gooey butter cake is great, and if you're ever in Columbia, go to Pizza Tree and not Shakespeare's.
