Great review! I replaced my Yamaha RX-A6A which I returned due to the sound, set up menus, and glitches . I bought this receiver because I am a Marantz guy this is my third one never disappointed, except the price tag, other than that I am very happy with my purchase. I am not a gamer so to me it's just fine.

Great review! I run the 7012 in my basement 7.2 system, paired with an Emotiva BasX A3, and in my reference system I run the AV8805. Love how Marantz “just works”. No one can argue it doesn’t. I love how the color of the OSD changes depending on source video signal (Marantz Gold for 1080p, Orange for HDR, Green for Dolby Vision). Also very much love the zone controls via the Marantz Remote App. It’s not the greatest app, but again, if just works. And finally, you can really dial in the bass using the Audyssey MultEQ app. Again, not the greatest app but gives you the control you need to dial in the bass. I keep thinking there’s something left on the table and needing to upgrade to the AVM70… but I don’t think it’s necessary, that’s just my addiction speaking lol.

Thanks man, definitely has the whole package and them apps are ok and at least there. This being around $4k AUD, its crazy to think some spend truly above 10k..😅 cheers for sharring and watching✌🍻

Had mine since it first came out. Absolutely no grips. (Other than the hefty price tag) The downsides that you mention aren’t deal breakers, but would of been nice if they had addressed them. But really like it. No buyers remorse here. Teamed it with an emotive XPA-7 Gen 3, 7 channel, great combo.

Nice review buy you should fix the image you are using to show the inside of the receiver that is the inside of the 8015 not 7015 its a very different construction even different transformer. Just an advice to make what is a very good review more professional. Keep the good work

My question is how come your using 3 of the same speakers for your front channel and does that work for a center channel by using a bigger speaker for the center channel as it is the same looking speaker as your left and right channel speakers

I'd love to see a full cosmetic redesign. But the main deal-breaker is the single 8k input. That will become standard within a year, and AVRs should have all hdmi inputs 8k compatible.

@@hstudio30 I'd heard the reason they picked that choice was for projectors. They has been a shortage of av parts since covid hit which pushed costs up...I think next year the hdmi bug will be gone and full 2.1 hdmi support will be on all inputs or at least 4

Yes definately recommend both ways but seperates will generate alot more unnecessary power for a 2ch setup..

That WAS an SR7015. It is the same size physically as the SR8015 but the 8015 weighs more.

Streaming surround sound? Streaming does not support surround sound. 4K players with audio output being phased out. OPPO 205 4K player no longer produced price for NOS $8000. and Panasonic DP-UB9000 being discontinued. Also HDMI cable has lower power for audio output. If you buy a surround sound system, there is no way to listen ? There is no info I can find that talks about this? Could I please get some comments about this.

Have just taken delivery of one of these and love it but I have been told to leave the speaker impedance at the default 8 Ohms yet I only have the centre channel at 8 Ohms, all my other spekers are 6 Ohms.

I prescribed this connection option, so that not the receiver generates audio and video signal, but the computer and TV, and through the receiver only get the sound and I play PC with video and sound 120hz 4k. There is one hdmi that produces 4k at 120hz. Please make sure its in the correct port. 👍

I've got a Denon, had it for over 7 years without a single hiccup, As stated Denon and Marantz are basically more or less the same.. I'm just too scared to change because I love the sound of Denon and Marantz equipment but this beast of a machine is out of my league lol

I've got the Denon avr x2100 running tannoy eclipse speaker package in 7.1 ... People say you shouldn't mix tannoy with Marantz or Denon cause the tannoys sound bright but I think the sound quality is pretty decent...

Australian version is an amplifier because it doesn't have analog tuner, some overseas models do, which are AVR's..👌🍻

@@hstudio30 If I change inputs or even so much as use an app on my tv (q80t), I have to reboot the pi for the Marantz to pass the signal. If I shut off the tv or receiver, I once again have to reboot the pi. I don't have this issue when the pi is directly connected to the tv, nor with an Onkyo or Yamaha receiver. I'm hoping the adapter Marantz is shipping out might fix the hdmi handshake issue but I've been waiting 3 months and aside from confirmation, the only email reply I've gotten was their tech department saying he doesn't have any info on the adapters.
